Very Valentino Eau Toilette by Valentino is an oriental fragrance for women. Launched in 1998, this composition was created by perfumer Daniela Andrier. Its olfactive structure unfolds with top notes of tarragon, magnolia, bergamot, valley lily, tangerine, orange, blackcurrant syrup and citrus; a heart formed by jasmine, rosemary, violet, woody notes and rose; and a base that reveals musk, sandalwood, amber and vanilla.

The Very Valentino was my absolute favourite while it lasted; it’s no longer made, but I found its ‘younger sibling’, Contradiction by Calvin Klein. What’s the difference? The Very Valentino was for the romantic, tender, and sparkly girl, whereas Contradiction is the same girl but with more audacity thanks to the eucalyptus. They bear an enormous resemblance, sharing the DNA of the discontinued Very Valentino, and naturally, they share a creator, Daniela Roche Andrier, which is curious given they are different brands. Another fact: Contradiction was released a year earlier. If you miss the Very Valentino and don’t mind the version with that eucalyptus twist, here is a good option to continue enjoying it, or if you don’t know it, you can get an idea with the Calvin Klein one.
This is one of those perfumes you’ll miss forever. It’s very different. I’m going to try ‘Contradiction’ to find something similar to the Very Valentino Eau de Toilette, which is much richer than the Eau de parfum.
