I don’t know how or why, but as it dries down, it leaves me with a scent very similar to Aqua di Gioia, just more fruity. A rich, fresh and divine fragrance for spring-summer. But nothing you haven’t smelled before. Watch out, if a man wears this scent… I fall in love.

I don’t know how or why, but when it dries down, it smells very similar to Aqua di Gioia, just fruitier. It’s a rich, fresh, divine fragrance for spring and summer. However, nothing about it is new. Just a note: if a man wears it… I’m in love.

  • I’m reviewing a sample I was gifted. I don’t see gender in perfumes; it’s just crude marketing. Skin changes everything, so it’s fascinating to see how a ‘feminine’ scent performs on male skin. I liked Valentino, but for the wrong reasons: it reminded me of my family’s fragrances. It’s as if L’Imperatrice by D&G and Rochas Mademoiselle (pink) had a child: a fruity, sweet kiwi scent (like D&G) that dries down to something caramelised on my male skin. It’s peculiar on a man, yet surprisingly non-intrusive for daytime with moderate projection and about 5 hours of longevity. It doesn’t demand attention. With Valentino, I feel a bit let down, especially considering previous disastrous proposals like the linear and generic male Born in Roma line. This uncommon kiwi note might appeal to you, so don’t be put off; try a couple of sprays, you might be hooked. Cheers! I was looking for a very fruity summer fragrance and chose this one. Born in Roma Coral Fantasy is a Caribbean fantasy. The scent of passion fruit, mango, fresh tangelo and cedar is impressive. It’s cheerful, leaves a tremendous trail, and boasts fantastic longevity of around 8 hours. It’s like a frozen passion fruit ice cream – delicious. I recommend it for sunny days in spring or summer; you’ll definitely turn heads. The trail is deep and persistent for about 6 hours, with another 2 hours close to the skin. The bottle is simply gorgeous, an absolute riot of personality.

  • I bought this blindly and absolutely loved it. On the skin, it opens with an intense, sweet melon note, balanced by a floral touch that prevents it from feeling childish. While the longevity isn’t quite as good as the traditional Born in Roma, it’s superb for spring and summer.

I tried it in store and it’s fresh, fruity and summery. The kiwi note is realistic, reminiscent of L’Imperatrice by D&G but with better intensity, projection, longevity and interest.

  • This flanker doesn’t appear identical or even similar to Donna Born in Roma; you can own both as they are very different. It’s a lovely perfume, floral, fruity and summery, perfect for spring and summer. The opening is moderate, sparkling and very fruity with a citrus kiwi that adds freshness, though slightly sweet without being annoying. As it dries, the floral notes become more prominent without losing the fruity character. In summer, it lasts about five or six hours. It’s not groundbreaking but easy to enjoy. I’d wear it well in the heat or at the beach to smell sweet yet fresh. Lately, it’s hard to find in Mexico.

  • This flanker isn’t identical to, nor does it resemble, its older sibling Donna Born in Roma; you can easily own both as they are very distinct. It’s a lovely, summery, floral and fruity fragrance. Perfect for spring and summer, it’s fresh and refreshing. The opening is medium, sparkling and very fruity, with prominent kiwi notes and a hint of citrus that makes it feel crisp, though it also has a sweet touch without being overwhelming. As it dries down, the floral character becomes more noticeable without losing its fruity tone. In summer, it lasts me about 5 to 6 hours. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s easy to enjoy. I’d wear it brilliantly on hot days or at the beach, for those occasions when you want to smell sweet yet fresh. Lately, it’s been hard to find in Mexico.

  • I wore it on the second day and it reminded me of Britney’s Fantasy, although they differ in the opening. Once dried, the sweet and acidic kiwi persists until it becomes tiring. It’s sparkling, fruity and summery, seeming more like a body mist; pleasant but lacking refinement. The sweetness wore me out to the point of nausea; it’s not for me, though I do like it.

  • Very good; it’s an elegant fruity scent with musk. Although it features kiwi, it doesn’t smell teenage; it transports you to a summer sunset in Rome. You feel simple yet elegant, ready to live. The kiwi starts acidic and sweet, a bit too much to eat, but once it dries it hits the spot. However, the heat wore me out a bit, though combined with Alien Flora Future it works brilliantly. A lovely concept, different from the original but sharing the same DNA, it just needs a bit more longevity.

Perfect for a Victoria’s Secret body mist without being an insult, but as a perfume it’s too loud and lacks nuance.

  • Do you like smelling like kiwi? I don’t. Kiwi is fine for smoothies or salads, but for perfume… it seems they don’t know what to do with it. What you should do is bring back the discontinued jewels, such as Armani’s Fiori, Manifesto’s Elixir, or Dior’s Addict 2002. Stop inventing nonsense. I wonder if perfumers or houses read the reviews and YouTube videos. Fewer inventors, more listening to people on what we want. Stop reformulating great jewels and turning colognes into waters.

  • I like it very much because it’s a sweet yet fresh and elegant fruity scent, perfect for summer. It becomes very refreshing without smelling like lemon; it has that freshly showered vibe with fruity shampoo, very pleasant. Note: it doesn’t resemble Fantasy at all.

  • The scent is pleasant, but nothing impressive. I feel the kiwi is always there; I find it very relaxed and simple. The longevity is low and it has no trail; it’s more of an intimate perfume that only those very close to you will notice. It’s for spring-summer, but you need to spray it several times to make it noticeable.

  • I adore it; it’s an exquisite scent for day or night. It’s noticeable without giving anyone a headache. Every time I wear it, people compliment its pleasant smell.

  • Cosmicgirl

I loved the scent, but I didn’t buy it because it felt too expensive for what it offered; it didn’t last long and faded quickly. It smells like gummy bears, similar to a splash of Bath & Body Works but more sophisticated. It’s very similar, and although I like that cheerful vibe and the idea of wearing the shower gel scent, that’s why it feels too pricey. If I had spare money, I would definitely buy it.

At first, I found it very citrusy and sharp, almost like a floor cleaner, which made me reject it, but once it settled, it softened considerably. It reminded me of L’Imperatrice by Dolce & Gabbana, which has that sweet watermelon touch I prefer. In terms of longevity and price, I’m sticking with L’Imperatrice. Rating: 7.5/10

On my skin, I don’t notice much of it, but it does leave a trail; every time I wear it, my colleagues and friends ask what I’m wearing. It smells very feminine, clean, and elegant, ideal for daytime but also for going out at night. I gifted the miniature to my mum and she loved it. It’s my first bottle, but I’d buy it again without a doubt.

  • It opens with a burst of mandarin and kiwi that dominates the first 30 minutes, a realistic fruit bomb. It then matures into a jasmine floral with a sweet, soft, non-animal musk typical of Ambrette. It’s clean and pleasant, but discreet on my skin; it lasts over 8 hours, though the projection is low. Given the price and lack of originality (only the initial kiwi saves it), I wouldn’t include it in my collection. Rating: 5.5/10

  • So simple that upon trying them, they seemed to be Coral Fantasy and Born In Roma, until I became obsessed. Sometimes beauty lies in simplicity. Both are coquettish, girly, and delicious perfumes like shampoo, only that Born in Roma feels woody and Coral Fantasy much fruitier. Nevertheless, they have a fine, elegant dry-down worthy of Valentino, so I retract my words from the first Born in Roma review. I want to own this to complete the dream trifecta between Donna, Donna Born in Roma, and Donna Born in Roma Coral Fantasy, and I will be happy.

I first bought it in December 2022 because I fell in love with it; I adored it and enjoyed it greatly as I love and am fascinated by its summer aroma. This December 2024 I bought it again and, to my surprise, it’s much more expensive and, moreover, the scent doesn’t last at all and it no longer has the same trail; a total disappointment. I advise against buying it; the price is too high and now you only enjoy its scent while spraying it, it doesn’t last on skin or clothes. I’ve been hugely let down.

I bought this perfume for the first time in December 2022 because I fell in love; I adored it and enjoyed its summery scent immensely. Last December, I bought it again, and to my surprise, it is much more expensive and, furthermore, it lasts nothing; it no longer has the same trail, a total disappointment. I advise against buying it: the price is high and now it only smells when applied, lasting neither on the skin nor on clothes. I was hugely let down.

  • It is my favourite version of Born In Roma. So fruity and refreshing for a hot day, yet sweet at the same time. A delight, with fairly good longevity 8/10 and a nice trail 8/10. Would I buy it again? Absolutely, it feels very versatile and is one of those scents you do not want to stop smelling.

  • It has me completely smitten. Sweet, but not cloying, fruity and different (not strawberry or mango). The only downside is the longevity, which is quite low. I don’t understand people who say it resembles L’Imperatrice… there’s nothing alike.

  • It’s my favourite version of Born in Roma. So fruity and refreshing for a hot day, yet sweet at the same time. A real delight and its longevity is quite good, 8/10. It leaves a nice trail, 8/10. • It has me hooked. It is sweet but not cloying, fruity and different (not strawberry or mango). The only downside is the longevity, which is quite low. I do not understand people who say it resembles L’Imperatrice… there is nothing alike.

  • I define it as fruity and refreshing: a subtle citrus blend of kiwi and juicy sweet orange. The longevity is short and it is only detectable on the skin. The price is very high for what it offers, but the novel aroma blend is noticeable.

  • It is perfect for summer; upon trying it, I loved it and it put me in a good mood. However, there is a serious issue if you consider the price: it lasts nothing, reaching perhaps an hour, two at best. It projects well for the first half-hour and then sits close to the skin. I do not understand why the quality of perfumes in general has dropped so much.

  • I’d define it as fruity and refreshing. Subtle citrus (kiwi) and sweet, juicy orange. Its longevity is short and it feels quite skin-only. The price is very high for what it offers, but the novel blend of its aroma is noticeable.

It is my second Valentino. Unlike the classic Born in Roma, this smells fresher and fruitier, perfect for heat rather than cold. Initially, it smells of mandarin, then of freshly cut rose, without that powdery Lancôme touch, but rather with morning dew, blended with a jasmine that complements without dominating. The kiwi is present but does not dominate. The musk envelops it, making it cosy and slightly sweet. I will let it macerate because it smells different from the Liverpool sample; perhaps the sample was already opened, while mine has just arrived. In summary, it is lovely, fresh, and perfect for everyday wear, although it sounds like something I’ve smelled before, perhaps from Paris Hilton.

  • This is a very pleasant fragrance, ideal for spring and summer. Here in Argentina, it is pricey for what it offers: it lasts about an hour before lingering on the skin. It feels fruity and youthful, but nothing more.

  • At first application, it smells lovely, but then transforms into a sweet, citrusy, and alcoholic bubble that invades everything. You must apply it with care, or it will overwhelm you.

  • Loreamaranta

It bears a striking resemblance to L’Imperatrice, yet boasts a superior development: it is incredibly fruity, summery, and the kiwi note is genuinely noticeable.
