Descripción

Valentino Donna, from the house of Valentino, is an oriental floral fragrance launched in 2015 and designed for women. The composition, by perfumers Sonia Constant and Antoine Maisondieu, opens with the freshness of bergamot and grapefruit. The heart reveals the elegance of iris, the delicacy of Bulgarian rose, and a gourmand touch of praline, complemented by mahogany. In the base, the scent settles with the warmth of vanilla, the character of patchouli, and the sophistication of leather.

  • I smell iris, leather, and patchouli. I like it, but I don’t think I will buy the bottle. After five hours of application, I can only smell it close to the skin. The bottle seems very lovely to me.

  • Manuela Monteiro

It has just arrived, it is rich, I am in love! It is very sophisticated and elegant. I applied it three hours ago and I can still smell it, especially on my hair and clothes. The Damascus rose stands out much, and at the end the patchouli and leather. I imagine a woman in the office, with heels and soft makeup, perhaps dressed in pastel tones. Duration on skin: 6 hours. Projection: good for the first three hours. Trail: moderate. Final note: 7.50/10. Very well, Valentino!

  • Rosa del Mar

Today I received this perfume and I love it, it has an aroma reminiscent of the 80s/90s. The leather is noticeable from the start mixed with the iris and rose. From the 20-minute mark, the patchouli, bergamot, and leather form an inseparable trio; I fail to detect the vanilla. Almost at the end, after several hours, what remains is a soft patchouli mixed with leather. In short, it is a winter perfume for girls where leather is the protagonist from start to finish. It lasts all night, I would choose it again, I love it!!!! It is very similar to Givenchy’s L’ange Noir, but it also reminds me of the Ivresse (champagne) by Yves Saint Laurent.

  • As Rosa del Mar said, in the end it reminds me of Yvrese, I hadn’t noticed it, but yes. What joy, as until now no perfume had reminded me of it, and it was one my grandmother used and I adored it. 🥰 Here, when trying Donna in a perfumery, you can smell the rose and leather fully amalgamated. It is not a common perfume and the leather note seems uncommon these days. I sensed the same note with La Petite Robe Noir Black Perfect. I perceive it for gala and evening events; for daily life I think it would overwhelm me.

  • LulaFlower

As a lover of fragrances with rose and bergamot, I had high expectations with this eau de parfum. I thought the leather would give it a rockier touch, something to wear at night. Unfortunately, it seems artificial, lacking nuances, and too harsh.

  • It is one of my favourite perfumes with iris, and with it I fell in love with that note. When I wear it, I feel feminine and elegant, yet not a super delicate floral, but with character. It has something that makes it ‘unique’ for me. It is a beautiful combination of iris, rose, and leather, with that marked powdery floral part that recalls lipstick slightly, without being vintage. On my skin, the leather is quite noticeable as it dries: it is not dirty or animalic, nor excessive, but it is there giving it a slightly ‘rugged’ air. In the end, it becomes sweeter and creamier, even slightly gourmand, as if it carried whipped cream or praline, with a touch of patchouli, but without losing the iris. In the end, it does remind me of La Nuit Trésor, but much softer and more refined. It is feminine and versatile: simple for daily wear and sophisticated for formal occasions. Performance is good, projection moderate/high for the first two hours and then an intimate trail. It lasts about 10 hours on skin, with the last notes very close to the skin. In general, opinions on its performance are positive. And of course, the bottle is one of the most beautiful I have seen.

  • On my skin, at first comes a fleeting bergamot that goes with the iris and settles as leather and rose (an unripe, citrusy rose). The perfume stays close to the skin… I don’t know if my version is very current or if it is the 800th reformulation… I will not buy it again.

The best perfume I have ever owned. Without a doubt, its fragrance is elegant, alluring, and highly sophisticated; it suits my skin perfectly. I choose it for winter because it is quite intense, but I don’t mind wearing it at any time of year. What predominates are its base notes: a fascinating vanilla aroma with a strong leather touch. A true marvel! BRAVO VALENTINO, you never disappoint me.

  • I absolutely loved it: upon first spray it’s fresh, and you get that characteristic lipstick-like iris note, but it fades quickly leaving behind a sweet, vanilla-infused rose. Although I enjoy patchouli and leather, I don’t detect them; the trail is moderate and lasts around four hours, with the dry-down becoming almost imperceptible. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it immensely and I think it will become one of my favourites, as it smells very similar to Montale’s Roses Musk, only this is lighter and fresher, whereas the other is dense, creamy, and sweet as if it had burnt sugar. Both are exquisite though linear. Donna seems elegant, feminine, and versatile to me: a blind buy that has me head over heels.

  • Cosmicgirl

Beautiful, although not for me; another Valentino is my favourite. From this, I highlight the special aspect: a warm vanillaised rose that I love in this line. It adds a sensation of freshly ironed clothes thanks to the leather. I feel it is spiced, surely due to the patchouli, which gives it character; it is not unpleasant, it is seductive and mature, and it takes itself seriously. Very versatile, but being heavy, perhaps not for warm weather. For me, this entire line is like a cosmetic aroma that moves from the textile to the gourmand, and I adore them.

  • Vale Barajas

It’s a fantastic fragrance. I went for it blindly and was not mistaken. It has a classic air but is modern. The opening is a slightly powdery bergamot, not too luminous but fresh, which mellows as it dries to reveal the iris and rose floral combo, what a beautiful thing. It is sweet, like the smell of soft makeup in a department store. It gives a bit of an air to L’VEB or Sí by GA, but it is distinct. My mum said it reminded her of Diorling by Dior. It has a slight resemblance to La Belle in that rich combo of vanilla, leather, and patchouli, but the powdery and sweet presence of the iris remains throughout. The projection is not strong, but on my skin, it projects more than a Mon Guerlain and lasted over eight hours. It is elegant and refined; it does not smell like sweets. In my taste, I do not see it as a daily wear because it is discontinued and is a jewel, but if it were not, I would use it every day. I do not see a specific season for it; it is super versatile. Scent 10/10, Longevity 9/10, Sillage 7/10.

  • WONDERFUL PERFUME. IT IS NOT CHEAP, BUT IF WE THINK ABOUT QUALITY, THE PRICE IS A STEAL. What does it resemble? Difficult to say. It is powdery but not strictly so, enveloping but not overwhelming, sweet but not cloying. It resembles Shalimar Initial in sweet and leather notes, but it lacks that strong personality that bothers many. It is nothing like Shalimar Classic. It has a sweet air like Creed’s Spring Flowers, but whereas the latter can sometimes be cloying, Valentino maintains sobriety without being a mature perfume. This one is worth buying blind. And for those who say it resembles Valentina by Valentino… no, only in fixation notes, but it is sweeter and more classy.

  • Today I only applied one spray because I got saturated sooner. It has a resemblance to Shalimar Initial, sort of. Donna is stronger and can be overwhelming for me. But for autumn and winter, it is highly recommended. It has good sillage and longevity; for what is available today, it seems like something from the 90s. If I apply a small amount, I will use it and enjoy it this winter.

  • Etomsicha

It’s a good perfume, different, sweet, and modern. I use it in cold climates or in the evening.

  • verdepensativo

What elegance and class, this fragrance masterpiece. The iris and rose explode initially, with a very intense leather. It oozes class and modernity. Very sophisticated, beautiful, and feminine.

  • Reina Amigdala

This is my perfect all-rounder: formal or informal, day or night, cold or mild. I find it very feminine; it smells of dusty roses with a well-balanced patchouli and a leather note that, far from being masculine, makes it sensual and cosy. I feel it is timeless, not following trends. It smells classic (without being vintage or like an elderly lady). It lasts about six hours with moderate sillage.

  • Incredible that I managed to get hold of this wonderful fragrance. It’s no longer available in Argentina, and I was lucky to secure it. I am fascinated; it dresses me entirely: I only applied it to my neck, the crook of my arm, and my wrists, and it dressed me completely. It is velvety; I can smell the iris, the leather, and the vanilla from start to finish, settling into a lovely creamy dry-down. What strikes me most is the atomiser; it is of indisputable quality. This is the first time I have noticed such detail in the bottle and the nozzle; it is absolutely beautiful.

  • Sadly, I bought it today after reading the notes and finding them interesting, but upon application, it reminded me of my late grandmother’s perfume who passed away 18 years ago… it smells very much like a very elderly lady =(

  • I love it and it’s incredibly versatile. On my dry skin, it reads as leather with vanilla, dusted but just so. It looks elegant and modern. It lasts a long time, which is unusual because perfumes usually don’t last long or project well on me. It has won me over again, just like Idylle. I’m delighted to rediscover classics because, lately, new releases leave much to be desired.

  • The best purchase I’ve made. I enjoy this fragrance because it envelops me completely and I feel it all day. Sweet, slightly powdery with that touch of leather and vanilla that lasts all day.

  • I love it! Very rich, you have to know how to use it and it’s truly of great taste. My story: I wanted to buy it due to positive recommendations that it was wonderful and drove anyone passing by crazy. In a perfumerie they applied it and the exit didn’t please me, it smells very vanilla and common floral for its price, and slightly anaesthetic. I tried others, had lunch and there appeared its enveloping scent that killed me with love and desperation to have it. A sweet, between leather, unique vanilla and roses. One day my mother, who only uses Paloma Picasso and gets allergies from the rest, praised me like never before. Then I knew it was a good reference. I felt joy that my mother liked another perfume. Buy it!

  • Audrey2016

I hadn’t been surprised by a fragrance for days, I love it! To the point of thinking of it as a signature perfume. I hadn’t heard it on anyone, it has body, is very versatile and elegant. They’re not those cloying sweets that make you dizzy and hate in two days. It’s not mass-produced, how happy I am!

  • In my city the testers are of the original version, with a beautiful combination of rose, iris, vanilla, patchouli and leather. My surprise was opening the box: the bottle had a cap and the liquid was paler than in shops. I thought only the packaging had changed, but upon using it I checked that the aroma had also changed for the worse. It smells synthetic, slightly sweet attacked roses that last a breath, and the leather that made the original special is totally missing. It resembles a watery Narciso Rouge without musk. What a pity with the L’Oréal reformulation.

  • danimaranion

What a beautiful perfume! I love it so much. It has beautiful projection and longevity, it lasts all day. It’s elegant, enveloping and I feel comfortable wearing it; I perceive it all the time without being overwhelming. You can smell the leather and vanilla a lot. It’s a classic scent but very different from today’s. I feel it’s warm, perfect for winter/autumn, I wouldn’t use it with too much heat. It smells like an expensive perfume, quality from the packaging to the scent and performance. I highly recommend it.

  • Guadaperfumada

It’s very wearable, sweet vanilla, you can feel the woody cashmere. In the style of Poison Girl. Simply beautiful.

  • I didn’t like the scent; it smells of rose talcum powder, but the longevity is excellent, more than 8 hours on the skin with good intensity, though it fades later. The trail is soft. As I didn’t like it, I didn’t wear much of it.

  • TatiSillage

It’s a very well-balanced perfume, ideal if you’re tired of sweet gourmands but don’t want to go fully to green perfumes. Very elegant… I’ll continue reviewing it later as these are my first impressions.

  • MissPennyLane

I bought it blind and it was a hit. The rose is outside my comfort zone, but here it’s gorgeous, powdery, and can be slightly sweet as it dries down. It lasts 6 or 7 hours on the skin and projects a lot for the first two or three hours. It has a very vintage vibe, like the rose soap bars from the 80s. Although it’s not my absolute favourite, whenever I wear it people say I smell good. I recommend it to rose lovers and those who like retro scents.

  • MarinaEtoile

I absolutely love this fragrance: it smells of old, dusty roses but with a lot of attitude. It’s not for grandmothers nor too youthful. What I like most is the leather base; at first I was scared of it, but here it’s delicious thanks to the rose and iris. It lasts about 8 or 9 hours on the skin and projects well for the first 5. It’s not sweet, but rather elegant and distinguished. It’s very well balanced and worth the purchase.

  • My favourite perfume. This Donna is a characterful scent, ‘powdery’, but not those that smell like ‘baby’! NO, this is a scent that smells like a dressed-up woman, hehe, one that makes you think the person wearing it took the time to choose their outfit, put on makeup, style their hair and pick a good lipstick. Without a doubt, it’s my favourite, and although it is, I don’t use it frequently, as I said before, it’s for a special day. I’ve read it’s ideal for autumn-winter; I enjoy it all year round, but I moderate its use in winter.

  • BeatrizBlackwood

This perfume is my weakness; when I apply it, I can’t help but feel a state of sensuality and savoir-faire. It’s a pity they’ve decided to stop marketing it; as soon as I can, I’ll get a backup bottle.

  • It was on my list of perfumes I thought I’d like blind… guided by videos, reviews and notes, but to my surprise, I didn’t like it at all 😞. I don’t know, it just seems too vintage for me.

  • Valentino Donna is a hyper-feminine and captivating fragrance. In my opinion, the predominant notes are rose, vanilla and patchouli, wrapped in a powdery iris base; I agree with those who define it as a ‘smell of makeup’; it’s a luxurious and sophisticated composition. Regarding performance, I must give it a middle rating: the longevity in my case was six to seven hours, projecting moderately for about three hours and lingering for another three hours without much sillage. The presentation is beautiful, a bottle with stopper-style cuts and gold details. It resembles others, yes. I bought mine blind, based on reviews and opinions online, and from the very first spray I liked it, though it vaguely reminded me of another perfume; I kept thinking about it and after a couple of hours, with a wave of my hand, the answer came: Armani Si, Eau de Parfum, the classic. It’s truly similar, with the only difference that the opening of Si is more fruity, while Donna is slightly citrusy and generally lighter than my Armani piece. Personally, I didn’t associate it with L’Oréal’s LVEB or Flowerbomb, but I suppose it’s a familiar fragrance, within that fruity, floral, powdery formula. The similarity doesn’t bother me since Si is one of my favourite perfumes, but it’s a point to take into account. Who will like it: lovers of dusty rose.

  • It’s the scent of beauty to me; it’s the fragrance that made me fall in love with perfumery, it’s classic and elegant. I adore the combination of iris and rose, with the sweet touch of vanilla. It’s feminine and timeless. Simply put, I have no words to describe it.

  • Soyyoymiperfume

Spectacular! Yes, it’s true that it has something that reminds me of the original Armani Si, probably the style since both launched almost at the same time… but I like this one much more because it evolves, whereas Si on my skin stays more linear. Valentino Donna (the first Eau de Parfum) is exquisite, fine, and delicate, yet has presence and trail; it’s a great perfume… however, the successors don’t suit me at all, none of them… I’m sticking with this one 100%, please don’t discontinue it if you can 🙏🏼. The slightly sweetened dusty rose is very flattering, divine.

  • My perfume for special occasions, for going all dressed up, to show that you’re wearing perfume. A scent with presence that makes you feel sexy; I love it.

  • Gemasevilla

This perfume is lovely. It’s woody, you can detect the leather, and it has a slight powdery note. It has personality; its scent stands out from the rest and breaks the mould. It creates a very pleasant aura around you. It’s a perfume that dresses you up, persists over time without being cloying.

  • It’s super feminine and goes with any occasion; when I don’t know what to wear, I reach for it because it suits any situation. It’s one of my favourites. I’m not a fan of powdery scents, but this one is very wearable.
