It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not my style. I detect white florals like jasmine or neroli, even though they’re not listed, and that doesn’t quite convince me. It’s rich, with good sillage and longevity; two sprays are enough. However, be careful: if you overdo the sprays, it becomes suffocating. I agree it’s linear and lacks a great concept.
This version is similar to the original but with less jasmine and sandalwood. I detect blackcurrants, rum and vanilla: it’s sweet, fruity and smells delicious. It feels youthful, but it’s quite linear and doesn’t change much. You can own both as they are quite different.
It smells good, I think there are better and more interesting versions of Valentino; it reminded me a lot of Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62′.
Tried it today and initially thought: ‘no, I’m not buying this’. It sounds like a tender, boozy version of the original, with blackcurrants and rum, like a plum liqueur. It’s linear and didn’t seem innovative at first glance. But watch out: days later I bought it. It’s a slow burn; now I notice a light coconut (perhaps disguised neroli) that I absolutely adore. Lasts around eight hours with good sillage. It stole my heart and my nose.
It’s all bourbon vanilla. It smells good, but the fragrance is linear. That’s why it feels very flat to me and hasn’t convinced me. Sillage and longevity are good.
It’s the version I liked the most, gourmand. The fragrance finish is much rounder than the previous ones. I perceive a strawberry cream shake, a note of olive with rum (soft and careful) that almost immediately begins to give way to vanilla, which over time will remind me of a coconut fragrance with red and vanilla touches. And if that weren’t enough, it lasts longer than its predecessors. For me, it was a resounding yes. I tested it on my skin and the next day it was already in my collection. I add a plus to this experience as from 23/2/25 to 2/3 I will be illustrating for Valentino in Callao, Madrid. My Insta is @val_luchessi.
They gave me a sample and… it smells as extremely sharp rose as the bottle indicates. It lasts a long time. It’s very sweet, but I also find it acidic and piercing, the kind that gets into your nose and gives you a headache. I think the only one I like from all the Born in Roma is the green; the others aren’t bad.
They gave me a sample and 😖😵… it smells extremely loud pink, just as the bottle indicates. It lasts a lot. It’s very sweet, but I also find it acidic and sharp, the kind that gets into your nose… and inevitably a headache 😅. I think the only one I like from all the Born in Roma is the green one; the others aren’t bad.
Wow, what do we have here? I think we’re looking at one of the perfumes that will sell best in 2025 and even beyond; we’ll see the Fragrantica awards at the end of the year. And it’s not because it’s a masterpiece or a fragrance bomb, but it’s come out excellent within the Born in Roma line. It’s attractive, fun, luminous, youthful (though this can be worn by a 16-year-old girl or a 90-year-old woman if she wants), super flirtatious and very, very pleasant. Within reason, I could wear it on summer evenings and nights, and the rest of the year whenever I want. That said, only if you like sweet and vanilla scents. It’s sort of a mix of 40% of the original and 60% of the Intense, omitting that jasmine that made it deeper and more adult. I liked the Intense quite a bit, but this has managed to dethrone it even more because, in addition, it lasts a huge amount, giving me more than 10 hours, and in projection it also surpasses the original and the Intense. I suppose with oxidation and time this could turn into a beast if not dosed. Of this year’s launches, and among the jovial and cheerful designer perfumes… for now the best. (I’d say the best after Poison Girl).
I hate it; I can’t stand it. It didn’t smell that bad in the perfumery. Ugh. It comes out with a powdered ginger scent that sticks to your nose and is very unpleasant. It’s true that it drops quickly and stays powdery, but it’s still disgusting. It goes in the trash.
Delicious 😍 It opens with a sweetened blackcurrant liqueur scent and dries down to a blackcurrant jam, vanilla, and coconut smell (I know it’s not declared, perhaps they’re disguised neroli, but I love them) 🥥 It’s not a very complex perfume with endless notes, and that might annoy many who seek more complicated fragrances, but “to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s”: it smells rich and has dethroned the first Donna for me personally; this is much sweeter and creamier. (Depends on taste, and that’s respected) WARNING 👁️ it’s not a coconut body odour like Alien Goddess, it’s a creamy coconut dessert scent, very similar to Nestlé’s Coco Classic biscuits 😍 (Still, try it because every pH and every nose is a world; but it’s a very pleasant perfume).
Delicious! It opens with a sweetened, dry blackcurrant liqueur scent with jam, vanilla AND COCONUT (I know it’s not listed, perhaps disguised neroli, but I love it). It’s not very complex, smells absolutely divine and dethroned the first Donna for being sweeter and creamier. Note: it’s not a blocky coconut, it’s a creamy dessert coconut, like Nestlé’s Coco Classic biscuits. Give it a try because every nose is a world, but it’s very wearable.
I’m going to get a lot of thumbs down, but I’m posting this in case it stops someone from buying it blindly thinking it’s the same as the Intense. It’s a ruined Intense with a sharp blackcurrant note that rises to the nose and hurts my nasal bone, like an Intense plus an insecticide note. It made my nose and head ache, and almost made me dislike the Intense more, which is one of my favourites. I advise those who love the adrenaline of blind buying to try it first.
I wasn’t very convinced at first, but one afternoon testing it in-store won me over completely. The longevity is brutal; it lasts for hours on skin and clothes until washed. To me, it smells like a piña colada or Malibu with pineapple and a vanilla touch, which is what lingers the most. I don’t detect the blackcurrant. It’s sweet and slightly alcoholic due to the rum, and with that intense vanilla, I see it more for autumn, winter, or spring than for summer, as it can get cloying.
Not worth it. I’m determined to find a Valentino that suits me, and this isn’t it; on my skin, it doesn’t last at all, not even 30 minutes. I ordered a decant and on first sniff, I noticed it was very sharp. The dry-down disappointed me due to its lack of intensity and longevity. Today I finished the decant and nothing; even with the heat, it didn’t match on my skin. What a pity; I’ll keep trying other flankers. I recommend not buying blindly.
Sweet, fresh, and vanilla-scented; I loved it. I’ve worn it on my skin for a few days using a decant my mum gave me and I’m trying to understand why others hate it. Perhaps it’s not a super original scent, but I liked it a huge amount.
Of all the Born in Roma fragrances, this one along with the Intense is the one that hits the hardest. Yesterday it was dripping on my arm for hours. It has a special sweetness; I don’t know if it’s that liqueur with the flowers that gives it a touch (no less sugary) but makes it more elegant and unusual. It’s surely the cassis accord that usually gives that green-earthy tone and can simulate flower stems 🤔; here it’s very cool and nuances the whole fragrance. I really like this green-blackcurrant sweetness; it reminds me of the elegance of a 2000s perfume. It’s certainly not innovation made into a fragrance, but for wearing at night as an elegant and noticeable scent, it fits perfectly. Personally, it tires me out a bit less than the Intense, although if I had to choose one of the two, I still don’t know which one I’d finally pick…
The same DNA as the Born in Roma line but with a liqueured fruity note; I think it’s a tropical fruit, like mango or pineapple. Personally, I don’t like it; I consider the Bir very autumnal or wintery to add fruits from another season; if it had been a citrus or red fruit, it would have suited the theme better.
I love it OoOoO. I can clearly smell the vanilla, with a sweet touch that isn’t gourmand, but rather dark and sensual. Although it has an air of Born in Roma Intense, this fragrance has its own identity that makes it unique. It lasts a very long time on my skin, and besides, the bottle is gorgeous. 💖
Someone might kill me for this, but I detect a hint of coconut.
Sweet, vanilla, and fresh. It reminds me a lot of Phantom or Alien Goddess; it’s not a dupe, it’s that vanilla, almond, and fruity style. I can’t clearly distinguish the fruit if it’s coconut or something similar. Very similar to the OG but with a fruity touch. It doesn’t have great projection. Very expensive for a designer fragrance and nothing new. I bought it blindly due to the hype and I terribly regret it. Recent launches are nothing new. I wouldn’t buy it again for the price; there are many similar ones. Try before you buy. It’s not a bomb from my point of view and it doesn’t last long, what a pity. There is one from Maison Alhambra that is the same and another from Avon that is very similar, I don’t remember the names.
Someone might kill me for this, but I do detect some coconut.
I love it, love at first sniff. It smells vanilla, powdery, feminine, rich and sexy. It seemed to have many more notes than listed on the card; it feels complex, creamy and elegant. It smells different on blotter than on skin; on me it leaves an almost chocolatey vanilla. Every pH is a world. For my taste it’s 10/10 and it’s the one I liked most from the Flankers.
I detect a lot of blackcurrant in the opening and almost throughout the fragrance, but in the base (which is still noticeable) there is a vanilla that is the EXACT SAME as in Vanilla Golden from Sisterland by Benneton… a candle vanilla, very synthetic and plastic. It’s a 9/10 for me because of that.
I love it ❤️, love at first sniff 😍. It smells vanilla, powdery, feminine, a very rich and sexy scent 💘, and it seems to have many more notes than listed here. It feels complex, even creamy, and elegant. It smells different on blotter than on skin; on me it becomes an almost chocolatey vanilla, I adore it. Every pH is a different world. To my taste, it’s 10/10 and it’s the one I liked most of the flankers.
I only smelled it in a sillage tester, but I perceived a sweeter, creamier version (now I understand why some say it has coconut) of the original DBIR. In fact, the same day I tested it, I was wearing Alien Goddess and thought that creaminess came from there, but no, it was this gem. I love it 🩷, I want it in my collection.
It’s the quintessential commercial fragrance, executed flawlessly to captivate, even someone as snobbish as me. The declared notes are very prominent, and the jasmine is undeniable. It’s incredibly rich, but that commercial DNA is obvious. I wanted it and bought it, but then I cancelled the order: with my experience, I know this type of perfume is spectacular at first but eventually ends up on the shelf, becoming boring or tiring. It’s not bad; I tested it three times and each time it was spectacular and long-lasting, but it lacks something for daily wear. It’s a safe purchase if you like jasmine with extra-sweet notes; I also detect a hint of coconut in the pyramid, which I love. People don’t get confused at all; the nose and sensations rule, not the brief notes brands give us. #minarizmiverdad
It’s very my style, but it didn’t blow my mind. There are many similar ones to pay the price. I’ll look for it in travel size. I felt lots of vanilla and blackcurrant. The rum is soft, just to add elegance, not invasive or sharp. It’s addictive. 💕 Edit after trying on skin: what a feminine perfume! It combines the sweet, the delicate, and the sexy without anything standing out. It’s very balanced, juicy but powerful. It lasted over 8 hours on skin and I even had to rub my arm to get it off. It’s spectacular.
People confuse the coconut with mango, fig, coffee with milk, and rum… There is no coconut, there is rum.
I tried it on my arm with Extradose and Burberry Goddess Intense… I don’t understand that they only share the vanilla, but they smell the same, just with different potency.
I read the reviews and it seems people are avoiding another fragrance, but it depends on each person’s skin. I went to try it at the perfumery because it’s super hype on TikTok Argentina, and I confirm you shouldn’t buy blindly just because everyone likes it. No, don’t do it; live your experience. That said, I read the comments and I don’t detect vanilla at all; the only thing that smells on my skin is a cough syrup, with that unpleasant sweetness of remedies. I feel it’s one of those perfumes that can give you nausea if you’re a bit unstable. That said, the projection is quite good.
The perfume is very good, but it’s noticeable that it’s almost identical to the Intense.
I tried it in the store and it smelled like window cleaner…
Great fragrance! It must be the only one in my collection where all the declared notes appear. I would add one more: Coconut. Not a tropical coconut, no, no, a coconut that is a great link between a mystical, deep, almost woody rum, fed by blackcurrants, and a stately vanilla (one of the most stately I’ve smelled, and that despite being tired of that note). There are moments when on my skin and in my nose it has the consistency of a super potent candle wick, a wedding candle, a candle that not only burns but dresses and adds elegance. By the way, it has a wick-like duration and projection. Not in vain, it is heading to become the fourth most voted female fragrance of 2025! It’s the only perfume in my collection I suggest for a winter night, next to those elegant candles and, why not, with a fine rum.
I detect the rum and vanilla very strongly, but almost nothing of the blackcurrant opening it declares. The first hour has very good projection and trail, then it drops considerably. It’s a lovely perfume, not extravagant, but if it lasts on your skin it is a very attractive scent. I feel it is super feminine and nocturnal, quite sweet; I don’t think it’s for summer, perhaps only for night. For those who don’t like gourmand and cloying perfumes entirely, it’s a good option.
A fantastic fragrance! It’s the only one in my collection where all the listed notes actually appear. I’d add one more: coconut. It’s not tropical; it’s a bridge between deep rum, blackcurrants and a stately vanilla. Sometimes it has the consistency of a potent, elegant and showy candle wax. Longevity and projection are top-notch. It’s on track to become the fourth most-voted feminine fragrance of 2025. I suggest it for a winter night with a fine rum.
Spectacular… Sweet, feminine, elegant, warm… I think it’s the best of all the DBiR versions (though I haven’t tried the Ivory yet). This scent is incredibly addictive and narcotic. Despite its three notes, I also detect a hint of coconut (as I’ve read) and a touch of floral. It has won me over since the first time I used it. I see it as perfect for late afternoon to evening in cooler seasons. But also for daytime, provided you don’t over-spray. It lasts and projects infinitely, at least on my skin, and is noticeable on clothes even after washing. I think it would even suit a man (though unconventional, yes), as its musky note usually appeals to them and, in my opinion, this perfume is quite unisex. Like Vanilla Powder, for example, it’s also very sweet. In short, if you like vanilla, syrupy liqueur, and being smelled before you’re seen; this is your perfume.
I’m fascinated that the masculine and feminine versions are so closely related. They aren’t identical, but you can tell they are family. I feel it’s a perfect representation of its notes, all of which are noticeable at every moment. My partner, who wears Extradose Uomo, told me this smells of coconut to him. Fortunately, I don’t. However, it is extremely sensual without losing any elegance.
A wonderful fragrance 🥰. The first time I tried it on my arm, I spent the whole afternoon smelling it; I don’t know what it is, but it’s addictive. It was love at first sight 💘. For someone with dry skin to which almost no fragrance clings, this lasts a long time (especially on clothes) and is ideal for rainy days or cool climates. Not for summer, as it becomes overwhelming and the scent shifts. It’s the only perfume I own that has prompted people to ask for hugs so they can smell it again. Without a doubt, my favourite of the Valentino Donna range.
