Descripción
Colors Man Black by Benetton is a woody oriental fragrance for men. Launched in 2019, this composition features an olfactory pyramid crafted by the perfumer, defining a profound sensory experience. The top notes unfold the freshness of bergamot alongside the bite of black pepper and the exotic touch of nutmeg. The heart reveals a warm, earthy blend where patchouli, lavender, suede, and vetiver come into dialogue. Finally, the base notes anchor the essence with the nobility of oud wood, the sweetness of vanilla, the warmth of amber, and the softness of musk.

Benetton Colors Man Black (2019): a masculine fragrance for winter and autumn, spicy with a vanilla base. SCENT: 7.8/10. The opening is challenging, lots of pepper and dark woods, but it evolves into something more bearable with lavender, vanilla, and oud. It’s masculine, nothing unisex. QUALITY: 7.7/10. Decent notes, not synthetic, with aromatic evolution. The bottle is comfortable, cylindrical, with a powerful atomiser and a cap that holds well. LONGEVITY: 6.8/10. Decent, about 6 hours; it behaves more like an EDP than an EDT. PROJECTION: 6.0/10. It’s noticeable but not striking; in the first hours it has a clean, woody trail. VERSATILITY: 6.5/10. Not very versatile, ideal for winter/autumn, perhaps fresh spring. In summer, it has nothing to do. It looks good at work or formal events, for those over 25. PRICE: 7.8/10. Just right, available in Argentina for about 21 dollars or 30,000 pesos. FINAL SCORE: 7.1/10. In summary, it’s economical and very useful for daily life in cold climates.
Excellent value for money option. Fragrance for winter (and autumn), spicy and slightly sweet. Very much in the style of the Arab perfumes everywhere, but more subtle. IT DOESN’T REMIND ME OF BVLGARI MAN IN BLACK AT ALL. Anyone who says it does must have taken the perfume instead of applying it. Between this and its little brother Black Intense, don’t hesitate, this is much better.
If you’re interested, try it first. It’s not for blind buys. Don’t be fooled by the app’s opening, which has power that can be intimidating; after a few minutes, it becomes very manageable and pleasant. Vanilla and leather appear, making it more refined. At first, it hit me a bit, but afterwards I like that warmth. Nothing to use it in summer. Also, its price is crazy: a good perfume for so little money.
When you think of a perfume that costs less than a pizza, you expect it to smell decent. But Benetton brings us Colors Man Black, something that smells good and makes you feel like you’ve hacked the system of expensive fragrances. A decent aroma for under 15 euros? This is almost a legal scam! The opening isn’t dramatic, but it keeps you alert. The spicy touch doesn’t burn, but gives a sense of ‘substance’. Then, patchouli and vetiver appear like unexpected friends at the party. For a moment, it deceives you: you’d swear it smells like Bvlgari Man in Black, but it doesn’t. It’s like a distant relative of luxury: it doesn’t have the same stature, but it’s charming. The finish is the best: oud, vanilla, amber, and musk. It becomes warm and enveloping, like a hidden gem in the cheap world. Of course, the oud isn’t sultan-grade, but for what you paid, it feels worthy. The funny thing is that it disappeared for a while like an exotic treasure and now it’s back. The reality is that for under 15 euros, you get something that doesn’t pretend to be more, but makes you feel like a winner. Unbeatable value for money.
Incredible, I can’t believe it’s this good for this price. I really didn’t expect something so rich.
Good fragrance, moderate longevity, and perhaps it lacks projection. It’s comfortable for the office or enclosed spaces because it’s not overpowering. It should be clarified that it doesn’t resemble Bvlgari Man in Black, but it’s a good perfume.
For those cold days when you want something to wrap you in warmth. This warm fragrance will make you feel the comfort of a cosy home for Christmas. It’s delicious.
For cold, autumnal days. No problem during the day, but I think it will stand out more at night. At first, it smells of warm spices and vanilla, something sweet but not cloying. Then it settles into woods and a soft vanilla that you can truly feel. I like it and it’s worth the price; besides, I hadn’t sensed it before, so it doesn’t seem overly common. As Don Juan says below, it makes you feel comfortable. For the price, it’s quite good.
What a fragrance, gentlemen! It’s incredible, a real marvel from Benetton.
It doesn’t last long, just a couple of hours, and it fades to skin scent, even though I used more than 16 sprays. The scent itself is good and of good quality, but I’ll let it mature for a few months to see if it gains strength.
I just bought a bottle dated 06/24 and I can say that on my skin it lasts 6-7 hours. Considering it is an EDT, I think the performance is magnificent, and on top of that, it’s only 13 euros.
The triple B: good, beautiful, and cheap. It’s a spiced, woody, and warm perfume, ideal for autumn and winter.
It’s strange that it’s compared to Bvlgari Man in Black; it seems they haven’t tried both because they are different scents. The truth is, while they are far apart in quality, they don’t resemble each other at all. If you are looking for something similar to Bvlgari Man in Black but cheaper, you’d better look for Spicebomb EDT.
Quick test on the arm: it enters strong and heavy, with that spicy nutty touch. On my skin, it takes time to become balanced. Almost immediately it smells of wet wood, very strong. But after half an hour, with the sweet and floral notes, it becomes a pleasure. For the price, it’s the best Benetton I’ve heard of. I tested it during the day at 30 degrees and it didn’t tire me, although I think it’s perfect for cooler climates. Price here: 16-20 dollars.
I was fooled by the reviews and the 9-euro price in the supermarket and bought it blindly. Mistake. It smells old and gives me nausea (probably my pH, damn it). That said, it lasts an eternity, and if you don’t like it, it’s a torture.
The best thing you can buy for under 20 euros. Until now, I didn’t own any oud; I’ve tried several from Montale, CH, Rem, Armani… and I disliked that note. That was until now, although this isn’t real oud. Benetton Colors Man Black is rounded in both scent and price. It’s potent and the longevity is sufficient. The opening is a bombardment of black pepper, then the oud emerges mixed with something sweet and alcoholic. After a minute, the pepper fades and the oud comes to the fore; I perceive dense wood with a smoky touch. Then the smoke disappears and the woods attenuate, blending with the memory of the pepper. It leaves a similar (but not identical) dry-down to the Man in Black by Bvlgari, but darker. I didn’t inhale the perfume, I didn’t smoke it, and I have no olfactory problems; it’s similar, I’m not making this up. It also reminds me of marshmallow milk with cinnamon. Summer, winter, day, night… whenever you want, it’s pleasant and harmless. If you don’t apply it in excess, it’s not overpowering. It smells of good quality; you’ll look like a landed gentleman. Surely it won’t leave anyone indifferent. A wonderful, different, and very cheap perfume; there are many more expensive ones that simply don’t compare.
I bought the Colors Man Black by Benetton on recommendation and was surprised. For being economical, the performance is good; it’s a manly, woody, and pleasant spiced aroma. From the start, there are dark and sophisticated notes, with marked wood featuring oud and patchouli, giving it maturity and elegance. Note: I recommend trying it first because these nuances aren’t for everyone. The longevity is moderate, but its flaw is the sillage; it doesn’t project much. If it were more expansive and lasted longer, it would be a great perfume. Nevertheless, for price and quality, it’s an interesting option for anyone seeking a masculine scent with personality and spice.
An interesting scent, intense, sharp, and characterful. Totally recommended if it’s cold (20°C or below). Once dry, it recalls Dior Homme Intense slightly—not that they are identical, but it shares that very similar essence. For the price, it’s an emphatic yes. It smells different and lasts quite a while.
A gem from the low-cost range. Whether in Argentina, Mexico, or anywhere else, you get so much more for what you pay. The bottle itself is unique, nothing like what you see in high-street shops. It looks youthful and fun, but smells serious, mature, and addictive; you’ll find yourself checking your arm more often than usual. I haven’t managed to match it with any of the 200 perfumes in my collection over two years. It has something of Oud Wood or Man in Black, but they are like different neighbours: one bald with a moustache, another tall with glasses, and this one long-haired and bearded. All from the same neighbourhood but distinct. Dark, warm, sweet without being cloying, spiced, substantial; it enters without asking permission. I own other Benettons and they are excellent, but this one is three or four rungs higher up the ladder.
The opening is unbearable, but the dry down saves it quite well with a well-marked leather note. For me, it’s the nutmeg that gives it that unbearable touch, but also the character. My advice: test it first.
It’s an absolute steal for the price; the quality is unexpected. To be honest, at first it seemed very synthetic and didn’t grab me at all. But after a few minutes, what a change! It becomes delicious. The scent is dark but with a sweet vanilla touch. I love it, though be warned: it’s not for everyone or every age. I see it as perfect for a man in his thirties with style. An older man could wear it and it would suit him due to its maturity, but the vibe is definitely that thirty-something gentleman. My personal opinion.
This one, I feel it’s the best in the Colors Man line. Although if you’re young, it might be a very rough and overwhelming scent, so in that case, it’s a perfume for formal dress occasions. Ideal for men over 25/30 years old, for exclusive use on cold days and nights due to how noticeable and strong it is. Longevity and price are notable; within the low-cost range, it’s one of the best, although I’m of the opinion that it’s always better to save a little more to invest in an Arabic perfume.
I tried it out of pure curiosity and what a surprise I got. It reminded me of more expensive perfumes like Ambre D’Alexandrie by Boucheron, Fahrenheit Parfum by Dior, or Man in Black by Bvlgari, not because they smell the same, but because they convey that same vibe. Take my opinion with a pinch of salt, as I only tested it in a store. I’ve read that its performance is poor (which is understandable given its price), but I mentioned that I walked all afternoon with two sprays on my wrist, and every time I brought it close to my nose, its pleasant scent was there. Very tempted to get a bottle. Cheers!
Best value for money. A must-buy.
A brilliant and very warm perfume; the oud and nutmeg notes remind you of dry wood. You need to be careful with application as it can become very strong. The first sprays were quite ordinary, but after a couple of uses the accords become more noticeable. Advice: if you have the opportunity, try it in stores first, as the initial openings of a new perfume always smell of ethanol due to lack of opening and bottle oxygenation.
The opening depends on the batch: it can be spectacular or unbearable, and lately the latter is common. However, once it dries down and settles, it’s enchanting and wearable (for some, it’s annoying; for others, not). It’s strong, ideal for cold climates, very woody and cool; it reminds me of my grandfather’s woodshed for winter. The most notable notes are nutmeg, suede, and oud wood, closing with vanilla to give a sweet but not overpowering touch, which is why it’s not unbearable to wear during the day. The longevity is optimal; it’s the fragrance I’ve used habitually in winter for years. I tried to change it but without success; it has something special I can’t find in others. It can go well on special occasions if it’s very cold and at night; it has some versatility, but it’s not recommended in summer, especially if it’s below 17 degrees. Last but very important: test it first. It’s economical and easy to find, and although it can be annoying for certain people, it’s not a bad idea to avoid using it if you have a partner who doesn’t tolerate it. Mostly, women find it very attractive; it’s quite masculine.
Pleasantly surprised with the performance; it’s a bomb. Don’t buy blindly. Ideal for autumn and winter and 100% masculine.
A rich, quality fragrance that lasts longer than it should for its price, without a doubt. It has personality and is different; I detect a strong masculine scent with a very marked presence of nutmeg (even after hours) that gives me a slight cocoa note. In Uruguay it comes in at $30 for 60ml, highly recommended for that price. I’m adding it to the collection and it has the potential to become a signature. Usable for everyday wear with dark, serious outfits; it’s not exclusive for night or invasive. Buy it to try and see, it’s different.
It’s a good fragrance, but it’s best used at night or on cold days.
I haven’t managed to discover what’s special about this fragrance as the comment group assures, which worries me and makes me question if there are flaws in the batch I acquired, as I simply can’t feel anything standout. I’ve encountered something very little, so I’m confused. Furthermore, perceiving the similarity between Black and Black Intense, and having made the comparison, for now I have better to say about the second: it feels with me. While both go down the same olfactory path, Black Intense distinguishes itself with a smoky touch, with incense; as it is, one announces itself and the other barely appears without showing enough body. I’ll keep experimenting. With fragrances, the relationship is never easy; perhaps I bought a bad batch, who knows.
I thought it was a joke paying $17 for a 200ml bottle on offer. You get more for that ridiculous price. Ideal for everyday wear in autumn and winter, and it doesn’t perform badly at night if you don’t want to spend much. I agree the opening can be difficult, but after five minutes it improves significantly. Its low price makes you question whether it’s worth paying $100 or $200 for other perfumes when you have this little gem for $20-30. Cheers!
I just bought it in November 2025. I picked it up from Farmatodo in Colombia for just $21 USD (91,000 pesos). Here’s my opinion: I bought it blindly due to good comments and it didn’t disappoint at all. The first spray seemed strong, like a stable wood… but then in the dry-down it changes, becoming tolerable and pleasant, revealing other notes. It’s a dark fragrance, nothing youthful, serious and formal. It’s in the same vibe as the Tyger CAL Cologne Edition I also own; they don’t smell the same, but they share that similar density and darkness. What I did notice is that I had to pull the trigger 8 times to smell it; I don’t know if it’s olfactory fatigue or if they reformulated it, but at that price you’re swimming in perfume and there’s no need to regret. In summary, I didn’t lose my investment and I liked it quite a bit.
To me, it seems long-lasting. Certainly, it doesn’t have a great trail; it’s a 1-metre bubble. It’s not for everyone, nothing youthful. The oud is particular and gives it a dark touch. The Black Intense version is for night and this one for day, cold and cloudy weather. For the price, it’s a bargain.
A new review showing my change of opinion and satisfaction… I’ve demonstrated that it’s not mere use, but an immersive experience; sometimes you have to dive deep to find something special. Having tried with more applications, I discovered something new and got a taste for the juice. It seems predominantly spicy, preceded and accompanied by citrus. This time I felt a rich presence impregnated in one of my shirts, ideal for the night. It doesn’t walk well with heat or cold, but in level circumstances, having settled well on me, as happened to me. It’s a juice that wasn’t easy to latch onto until I found the connection. It’s an interesting alternative I had to explore in depth, having been disheartened at the start, but now happy, as I enjoy it and it gives me pleasure. As usual, it’s designed with limits. Best regards.
I tested it with two sprays on skin and, although it’s not for everyone, I liked it. The opening felt more gentle and pleasant to any nose. As it dries, it darkens, becomes complex, and yes, it can be shocking. I liked it, although I need to keep testing it more to be sure.
I spotted it at a friend’s house and couldn’t resist. Two sprays on my wrist. It has a vintage touch that’s captivating. The opening is quite alcoholic, nothing grave as it settles within minutes. At first, it feels camphoraceous, woody, with a persistent sweet accord that’s slightly sharp, until I got used to its ‘dark’ character. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly. Longevity is acceptable with a strong presence for the first hour, then it stays close to the skin and leaves me wanting more.
It comes out a bit alcoholic and short-lived, but within minutes it turns spicy, woody with a subtle vanilla base. It projects strongly for the first two hours and has lasted perfectly for 7 hours. For the price, it’s a gem for everyday wear. It’s worth trying, but don’t buy blindly.
Hello, let’s see. In short, I really like the scent. Unfortunately, the longevity and trail leave much to be desired. The vanilla is very present with that slightly unusual but pleasant oud note. When I wear it, people ask what I’m wearing, which creates doubt, but I always receive compliments. Scent 10/10, longevity 7/10, trail 6/10.
I bought it because of the reviewer in ‘Hola chicos…’ and the truth is, it wasn’t anything special. It smells of pepper, cloves, and wood; some say it’s a great perfume for the price, but that’s not my case. Is it cheap? Yes. Is it worth it just for that? No. What do I do with it? I’m giving it to my father; it’s for adults over 40. I detect tobacco in it; it reminds me of the dry-down of CUBA PARIS. Save those $20 and buy THIS IS HIM or VOLTAIRE; those are on another level. PS: To make a fool of myself, I bought the Intenso 🫠🫠.
I absolutely love it as it was the one that started my collection. I can’t analyse notes, but it smells exquisite when dry and is easy to wear. Its projection and longevity stand out, and the female reception is brutal; many women are left trembling. It’s extremely masculine and seductive.
