  • I tried it at a Zara in Chile; the two Vibrant Leather options were around $25 each (60ml). I intended to buy this one, but after testing it, while I felt a very citrusy opening and noticed a bit of leather in the dry-down that I liked, to be honest, I must admit I didn’t buy it despite the price because after about two hours, I couldn’t detect any trace on my skin. 🙁 Every skin is different, but this is my case. If it lasts for you, then go ahead and buy it.

One of my favourite perfumes. For someone who always seeks great quality for the price, I believe this is the queen of fragrances. I bought this and Vibrant Leather Oud in 60ml for 67,000 pesos directly from the Zara store and will definitely do it again when I can. The first decant I ever smelled was this fragrance, and from the first sniff, I found a love for life. I don’t know why everyone declares the pineapple note, as it’s a synthetic fantasy composition that is inexplicably charming; the citrus notes don’t stand out but rather form the background that projects that characteristic opening. I haven’t smelled the original Aventus that inspired it, and you know what? I don’t need to. There’s something odd that happens to me: every now and then I detect a hint of bamboo in the opening above the so-called pineapple, but it quickly dissipates to make way for the rest. That’s the only evolution I detect. The name doesn’t quite fit; if it had any leather, it’s not remotely leather-like, but I understand what they mean; its ‘leather’ is the base that supports the fragrance, and for this price, you can’t do better. The bit about declaring papyrus of Egypt is probably an inside joke between two Zara interns. There’s more than one confused person who seems to ask this perfume to last eight hours, reapply, for heaven’s sake, do me a favour. I understand being furious that a designer perfume doesn’t last four hours, but a department store perfume? Don’t make me angry; this is within everyone’s reach. Even I, a penny-pincher who shouldn’t spend so much on myself, will buy several bottles to wear well and all day. This is a fragrance for all-year use, even for winter on mild days thanks to that slight green sweetness. It never gets tiring; it’s impressive. It has almost no sillage, making it discreet and perfect for me. I’m quite surprised it’s voted so masculine; it evidently has undeniable masculine charm, but if I smelled it on a woman, I’d be delighted. My best friend would wear it without hesitation. With its limitations, it’s a 10/10 perfume. The day I run out, I’ll regret it greatly.

  • A very good and affordable option from Zara for my tastes, worn alongside my favourites, Vibrant Leather Oud. It’s versatile; I only avoid it on very cold days. Perfect for the gym, which I do almost daily.

I ended up buying it twice because the scent is wonderful. However, I probably won’t buy it again because, if you’re new to this world, you’ll realise that no matter how good the smell and projection are, it doesn’t last more than 20 minutes in temperate climates (considering at least 6 sprays). For the price, it’s highly recommended, but mainly for beginners. Even if you want to wear it for more casual settings like work or university, I still recommend carrying it around to reapply after about four hours.

The scent of Vibrant Leather is absolutely rich. I don’t know Creed Aventus, but this smells fantastic. To make it noticeable and long-lasting, so I could smell my clothes and have a certain trail and projection, I used about 8 ml of cologne in a 10 ml decant. I think those are the right proportions for using this cologne. The price makes it worthwhile.

I never had the experience of short performance, but it is true that it’s unstable. The last time I wore it, my wife noticed it after we’d both returned from work, more than 10 hours after I’d applied it. She gave me a kiss and detected it. I can still smell it on myself for a long time, but it disappears at times. The first hour and a half, or two hours, it’s potent. Regarding the scent, it’s 103% suitable for those of us working in formal office attire, not necessarily for important meetings, but a Monday looks spectacular. It’s youthful. I (45) am already on the edge, almost falling off this fragrance (if I’m in Aventus mode, I’d head to a night club if I don’t want to wear the Creed directly). The fragrance is good, you should have one, especially if you’re around 30.

  • A rich fragrance for daily use. It attempts to mimic the Creed Aventus scent, achieving its aim halfway, but it’s not bad. The downside is the longevity; unfortunately, on my skin, it projects for about thirty minutes and lasts a maximum of two hours.

This all-rounder clone of the damn fine Creed Aventus, which the posh CEO types at Inditex-Zara pulled off years ago to keep lining their pockets, has finally succeeded. It’s Zara’s famous bestseller in fragrances and they’ve already churned out countless flankers. For its low price, it’s well-made, smells good, and is super versatile, so I give it a high pass. Personally, unfortunately, it doesn’t last more than 20 minutes on my skin. This ‘yellow water’ just doesn’t appeal to me. For a cheap, handy, citrusy, wearable clone among the 150,000 out there with the Aventus DNA, I’d choose it fifty times less often than the CDNI EDT or Rasasi Zebra for just 30 quid each, which last 6-7 hours without a hitch.

  • It’s a good fragrance, a well-executed Aventus dupe, but it’s a shame about the performance. It projects for 30 to 40 minutes and then drops off.

  • JoseMartin

I consider it an economical fragrance for daily wear, ideally in hot weather. It’s very rich, with a noticeable citrus opening; once it dries down, you get a soft leather note. It’s very wearable, lasting well for about two hours before fading to skin scent, but given the price, it’s well worth it; you can’t ask for more.

The bad smell isn’t (Aventus genetics). Now… it doesn’t last at all!! Don’t buy it for anything in the world. For that, buy Club de Nuit Intense Man.

  • No projection, no longevity, no sillage… that said, it smells good. A right rip-off, honestly.

  • antoniiosm

I like it but there are many better Creed dupes for roughly the same price. Lasts average, leaning towards short, 2-3 hours you need to reapply. I recommend Club de Nuit Intense before this one for a bit more.

  • A little gem from ZARA. Approximately 650 Mexican pesos for 100ml, which is a reasonable price. The 50ml version is 450 Mexican pesos (as of today, 23rd June 2025). I think it’s better to go for the 100ml version. Now, the aroma is promising. Some citrus notes combined with the scent of well-crafted leather. It feels very similar to Club de Nuit Intense BUT lighter, easier to wear. Longevity isn’t beastly but hits decency. Sillage goes beyond the arm. It has won me several compliments at the office. I recommend it for hot summer days.

  • I tried it a few years ago and I have to say it’s a fragrance with an incredible aroma, masculine, that filled me with compliments. It was my signature fragrance for quite some time. As for longevity on my skin, it lasts about 4 or 5 hours. For the price and the aroma, it’s an excellent perfume.

“I’m happy and angry” would be Rafa Gorgory’s take. Spectacular aroma. Pathetic performance, extremely poor, premature, etc. It has a fresh brightness that other Creed Aventus knock-offs lack. For example: the CDNI (though all the others except the EDT are very good) all feel heavy (mind the nitpicky comparisons here), with less brightness, less freshness, less sparkle, due to excess ambroxan; these are subtle differences, but they are notably apparent after using both fragrances for a while. I don’t know when it started, but recently I picked up a large 150ml bottle of this wonderful VL after several bottles and much deliberation; I resign myself to the fact that its poor performance won’t stop me from buying it again. I’m not willing to spend what the great Aventus costs, considering I don’t wear perfume to satisfy large-nosed expert collectors, but simply to enjoy (however briefly) this fabulous type of aroma. This costs, as far as I know, 1/10 or 1/15 of what Aventus costs… for me, it’s not worth paying that much for a fragrance; it’s not in my needs or priorities. I deeply respect those who do want to spend and pay big money; I respect them for multiple considerations I won’t elaborate on here. Well, said that, to those who love the VL aroma and are willing to forgive its pathetic performance, to overapply and reapply every 3-4 hours as if there were no tomorrow.

  • LucioGuaymas

Good fragrance for the price. The scent is exquisite, a pity it doesn’t project much and requires constant reapplication to make an impression. It can be compared to CDNIM; my conclusion was that this wins on aroma but loses considerably on longevity and projection.

  • Good little clone of a fragrance that costs fifteen times more. Longevity is very scarce, and so is projection. It’s for what it is: going to the gym, down to the supermarket, etc. (Bought on the same day I received an Aventus decant).

  • ElChapoGourmand

I’ve had this for a while and it’s time to review Zara’s icon. Does it sound like Aventus? Yes, especially at the start, though it depends on the batch; mine smells of pineapple without that strong citrus edge. It’s not a 100% clone; the quality of the ingredients is noticeable, but let’s not get pretentious: we’re talking £20, so you can’t ask for more. What fails is the longevity; in fact, this fragrance is the main culprit behind Zara’s reputation that ‘their scents don’t last’. Today I went to my local Zara to compare it with the Elixir I also own, and the difference is clear: the Elixir dominates in performance. The original disappears from my skin in no time, perhaps an hour, whereas the Elixir lingers much longer—I’ve showered and it’s still on my hand. The regular version is less heavy and a bit more youthful, while the Elixir is more intense, green/orange, mossy and mature. The Aventus-style DNA is usually mature. My advice: if you like that style and don’t want to splash out, go for this. Even better, go for the Elixir. And best of all, go to a Zara, try them on and choose the one that suits you best.

  • It was my first fragrance (years ago), so I may not be entirely objective. That said: it’s one of the best Aventus clones out there. After years testing the original, having them side by side, they smell very similar; even for me, Zara’s Vibrant Leather feels more innocent than Creed’s Aventus. The Zara one has more brightness, lightness and freshness, making it more versatile across ages. Aventus is for gentlemen, wealthy gentlemen (magnates), but ultimately gentlemen. Vibrant Leather is the best clone (in terms of quality) you can buy. On my skin and clothes, Zara’s fragrance lasted over 8 hours without much projection or sillage, but olfactorily the quality is superior to Club de Nuit and other darker, dirtier clones like Montblanc Explorer or Afnan Supremacy NOI. If you don’t mind the performance and value quality over longevity, grab a decant and this is a 10/10.

  • Smells like lemon tart. Very nice but zero trail and terrible longevity. A perfume to go to bed with and little more.

  • One of Zara’s most iconic fragrances, a versatile explosion of bergamot for any moment. I wear it at university and for going out in the afternoon. Its longevity is its weak point; it doesn’t reach 6 hours on skin with little trail. I received many compliments, it’s easy to like. I recommend more than 6 sprays so it endures.

  • For some reason it lasts quite a bit on my skin, which is curious given that its poor longevity is most criticised. I find it pleasant, easy to wear and suitable for daily use. It’s citrusy with a touch of leather that makes it masculine; although I don’t usually like leather, here it’s soft and wearable. It’s good for the price, though it’s always better to try it yourself.

  • It’s spectacular; I don’t own it but know it well because a friend always wears it. It’s identical to Creed Aventus (seriously, I notice no difference): same longevity, trail and scent. It’s one of the most versatile perfumes I know. I love that bergamot and feel it has musk. For me, it’s between 15 and 100 years.

  • I own Montblanc Explorer and it’s true they share DNA, but they are different: Vibrant Leather is lighter, soapy, fresh and metallic, whereas Explorer is denser, smoky, woody and with ambroxan. Both smell good. The presentation is good: magnetic cap, simple but nice bottle and a good spray (something rare at Zara). Performance varies by day: it has lasted 4 hours with little projection or disappeared in 2 hours (even from clothes). I suppose it’s olfactory fatigue, but it’s not long-lasting nor with much presence. That’s its Achilles’ heel. I managed to get the 150ml bottle for €8, so I’m not complaining much; at that price it’s a 10/10. If I had paid the €20-25 of the season, I might have been more bothered by the timid performance. If it lasted an hour longer and had projection it would be a 10, but it stays at a 6.5.

  • The famous Creed Aventus clone. I’ve never heard the original, but this fragrance doesn’t quite convince me.

  • A pleasant, light and balanced cologne for all occasions. The opening is critical, with the heart and base well combined to give a rounded, harmonious scent. Perfect for the wardrobe. Excellent quality/price ratio.

  • ChukiTrucco

The Creed Aventus DNA is very noticeable. For some reason, it lasts a minimum of 30 minutes on me, has no projection, leaves no trail and doesn’t stay on the skin.

  • I rarely repeat Zara, but this one I do. It smells clean, is citrusy without being fresh, and you can detect the pineapple. It doesn’t last long, but there’s a trick: buy small atomisers (€5) and carry several. Fill one, apply well (8-10 sprays) and repeat every 2 hours. At that price and scent, the longevity isn’t an issue. If it lasted twice as long it would cost triple. I’m not sure if it matches Creed, but when I wear it well, people ask. And that’s what matters.

  • Perfect for a standard male gift: a likable scent, versatile, works for someone aged 15 as well as one aged 60, an unmistakable masculine smell and a reasonable price of around $25 for 60ml. Much better for warm climates. On my part, I layer it with Monocline 01 from Maison Alhambra and with that I reach about 4 hours of longevity (at most) and reapply every now and then. There’s no other way.

  • I use it for the gym and work, longevity 2-4 hours spraying 4-6 times. For the price it has, it’s a highly recommended purchase. To me, it smells mostly of bamboo.

  • Fresh with pineapple, lemon and leather; it has the DNA of Aventus and lasts like the recent batches, just 2-3 hours. But being so cheap, I reapply without guilt. Ideal for any day.

  • My girlfriend gave it to me, it came with the classic Vibrant Leather and the oud version. The classic smells rich, it’s an Aventus clone and although it’s from Zara and cheap, it feels natural. The only downside, and indeed the only one, is that it literally doesn’t last anything, it’s weak on performance, doesn’t project and leaves no sillage, but it’s a scent that no one could hate. Brilliant, fresh and this Aventus clone leans more towards the citrus of a lemon.

  • My dad gave it to me and for daily wear it’s pleasant, very versatile and people of any age can wear it without hesitation. The longevity isn’t much, but it’s a great perfume because it projects well in my case. For €20 you can’t expect more. Longevity: 5/10, Projection: 5/10, Sillage: 8/10.

  • For those not obsessed with perfumery, it’s a 1.1 of the classic Aventus, so the scent is 10/10. For $30 you get the 150ml version, but you have to reapply every two hours because it fades very quickly on skin. On clothes, it’s a different story: I achieve good projection and sillage for at least the first two hours.

  • When I first bought it, it didn’t make a good impression; I perceived it as a ‘meh’, but two weeks later my opinion changed completely. It’s soft, elegant and suitable for everyday wear, not intrusive and leaves a good impression. I’ve received compliments from several women who absolutely loved it.

  • Debatibly, alongside Legend by Montblanc, it is the best fragrance for value I have tried. A scent totally inspired by Aventus, quite citrusy with a woody and animalic base that results in a very youthful and sexy vibe. It’s the one that has generated the most compliments; every time I wore it to school, friends and colleagues would ask about it. It’s an impossible scent that no one could dislike, although it’s not new, not too long-lasting and doesn’t project much, it fulfils its purpose of making you smell good and is almost all-rounder. It’s one of the few I’ve tried that is truly a compliment machine.

  • Very pleasant, ideal for daily and casual use. Due to its limited projection, it’s perfect for enclosed spaces or for not being intrusive when sitting next to someone (in a living room or church, for example). Vibrant Leather stands out among Aventus clones for being clean and crystalline, without the smoky earthiness or the green and bitter notes that they usually have. If Club de Nuit Intense Man were at one extreme for being smoky, aggressive and long-lasting, Vibrant Leather would be at the opposite end. If I could improve it, it would be the longevity and adding a slightly sweet or fruity note in the base (like Explorer, but to a lesser extent).

  • Brilliant daily wear, incredible value for money. €20 for 100ml of EDP, an excellent scent leaning more towards Terre d’Hermes than Creed Aventus. It doesn’t last more than 6 hours, very soft and skin-close with no sillage, but at this price you can reapply as much as you like. I use it for everyday office wear; it’s elegant and not overpowering. I keep a small bottle in my handbag for touch-ups. For special occasions at the office, I’d recommend something with more punch. Smells like woody lemon, very clean and fresh, ideal for all seasons except winter and evening. I’d give it a 7.5 for value, scent, projection and longevity.
