For me, it’s the best in Zara’s Elixir collection. Oud Vibrant Leather Elixir improves on the original: it corrects the poor longevity, is denser and more serious, with a woody touch. It’s not a beast mode, but it lasts all day at work without reapplication. A curious detail: when it dries, it smells like barbecue sauce, which makes it unique. It’s very masculine, though it may divide opinions; many women prefer the freshness of the original. It’s made for those who want to stand out and not smell like everyone else. The Elixir label usually promises a lot, like with Dior, but rarely delivers. Oud Vibrant Leather Elixir doesn’t break the mould, but it delivers solidity and character. It’s a good addition from Zara and perhaps the true Oud Vibrant Leather the fans were waiting for.
My wife gifted it to me because she liked the previous one, but this is much more potent and lasts longer. It easily lasts 8 hours on my skin; I applied it at 9pm and by 11am the next day, it was still on my arm. I loved it, and given the price, it doesn’t hurt to put on a few drops. In my case, it lasts quite a while.
I wanted to try the Elixir range because it promised power and longevity, my obsession. But upon application, I feared the worst: it barely smelled. I sprayed it about 25 times and still couldn’t detect it, not even on my clothes. The scent isn’t bad, but it’s nothing special. I’ll probably end up throwing it away or giving it away. I won’t buy Zara perfumes blindly again, even if they are cheap.
To user pinkman: there is a version with a black cap that lasts nothing. I know this because I have the gold one and the scent is different.
The perfume is decent, but for an Elixir, the longevity is short.
It’s my first encounter with oud and I’ve enjoyed it; it’s not invasive even in the background, while the fresh note makes it versatile. However, it’s not the best in the line—there are better Vibrant Leather options. Lasts 5-6 hours.
