A pretty floral but without any novelty. I’m not exactly sure what magnolia smells like, but you can perceive the particular scent of a single flower, not a bouquet or a blend. It’s feminine, elegant, and slightly creamy. It evokes cleanliness, personal care products, and even the finest laundry softeners. Ideal for spring-summer with moderate longevity and projection.
Like @Anairamis, I didn’t know what magnolia smelled like either, but this fragrance taught me. It’s not a compounded floral accord, but a single flower on a very clean base; it reminds me of the detergent my mum used when I was little. Over time, I notice it gets a bit stale. Longevity and projection are moderate at first, then fade until it’s barely noticeable on the skin.
Classic white floral: starts with citrus bergamot and soapy vetiver, then settles into a realistic, sweet, and creamy magnolia with that typical non-indolic floral waxy touch. Projects well for the first hour before becoming a soft skin-scent cloud lasting around six hours. I think it’s very pretty and feminine for summer, though it also works in spring or autumn if it’s not too cold. It doesn’t offer anything new, but it suits any occasion except sporty ones. However, 260 euros for a magnolia soliflore sounds like a rip-off to me. Pleasant: 8/10, Interesting: 3/10, Versatile: 7/10, Original: 4/10
