A fruity floral with a citrusy twist and an ingredient quality that’s priceless. It begins with a sour orange that later becomes soft, sweet, and velvety, setting the neroli as the protagonist but allowing the iris to dominate on my skin. At first, it smells like that sophisticated, soft, slightly sweet shampoo. It’s luminous, bright, luxurious, intimate, and carnal all at once. It lasts for hours; you feel scented, comfortable, happy, and very evocative of good spirits. Exquisite.

A fruity floral with a citrus twist and an ingredient quality that is priceless. It begins with a sharp orange that soon softens into something sweet and velvety, placing neroli front and centre while letting iris take the lead on my skin. At first, it smells like that sophisticated, soft, slightly sweet shampoo. It is luminous, bright, luxurious, intimate and carnal all at once. It lasts for hours; you feel scented, comfortable, happy and very uplifting. Simply exquisite.

First Dream of the Year opens super citrusy, as if you’ve been splashed with juice when breaking a grapefruit, with a touch of bitter petitgrain. Immediately, the neroli takes control and intensifies, accompanied by a very realistic jasmine. The floral accord is brutal, like a bouquet of neroli and jasmine right in your face with a dash of orange juice on top for sweetness. At the end, the iris adds a sophisticated, powdery feminine touch. I must confess that the dry-down is my favourite. Longevity and projection are moderate, as is almost everything from this brand.
Coquita
A citrus-floral fragrance that bursts with sour, astringent grapefruit but quickly softens into a creamy, bright neroli with the delicious scent of orange juice. Everything feels natural and integrated; the base notes do not shout but rather nuance the neroli. After four hours, the neroli yields to a clean, powdery, musky iris that doesn’t work in summer but shines in cooler weather. It projects strongly at first, then comes and goes in bursts for over 12 hours (less so in summer). I find it a lovely, well-rounded feminine scent, ideal for spring-summer or mild autumn to convey joy. I prefer it to similar offerings like Neroli Portofino, though the price seems inflated: it is pleasant and well-made, but just one of many options in this style. Note: Fragantica fell short on the official notes. Pleasant: 8/10, Interesting: 4/10, Versatile: 7/10, Original: 3/10.
