The opening is horrible; I’m not sure if it’s the sclereia or the juniper, but then something wonderful happens. I was surprised that a Morillas fragrance disappointed me at first. It transforms into its heart and base into an incredibly rich aroma; you’re surprised by this sudden change and it lasts hours smelling great. The violets and jasmine are intoxicating. Buy blind because I was scared at first, but then it wins you over.
Eternity Aqua for Men reminds me very much of this fragrance.
DKNY Men 2009 is a vibrant fragrance with great energy, blending vegetal and aquatic notes that shine despite a strong opening. The magic happens within five minutes: it evokes New York after a summer rain, refreshed by the scents of Central Park and the Hudson. It’s well-constructed, featuring a floral bouquet over a lily root touched by sclereia, all wrapped in a vetiver-cardamom accord with subtle sweetness giving it an ozonic touch; the result is a semi-sweet floral-vegetal scent. It lasts over six hours with attractive green-floral heart notes. It’s curious that everyone loves it, perhaps due to that vegetal sweetness or because it reminds one of Aqua di Gio without the citrus. I prefer it as it’s less ubiquitous, though I adore AdG too. It’s not suitable for cold weather, but ideal for outdoor weddings or the office on sunny days. It has a low profile yet plenty of brightness, conveying confidence and transparency—perfect for a first date or a work commitment without formal dress codes. Its best season is from spring to early autumn. As a fun fact, some sellers ask ridiculous prices, but it’s easy to find until 2018. I managed to get the 30ml version with a well-made bottle and a very comfortable metal cap. Highly recommended for winning someone over.
