Descripción
Truth For Men by Calvin Klein is an aromatic fougère fragrance for men. Launched in 2002, this composition was created by Givaudan and Michel Almairac. The top notes unfold with basil, cardamom and green leaves; the heart reveals fern and resins; while the base notes settle on red cedar, patchouli and exotic woods.

I used it back in 2003 and it left a good impression. It smells rich, long-lasting and refined.
I found it two years ago and I absolutely adore fragrances with patchouli. It smells fantastic, although it’s not very well known. The longevity is moderate, but the trail is noticeable. It won’t disappoint you.
Initially, freshly cut grass. After a few minutes, the musk emerges, perhaps due to the blend of all the notes.
Calvin Klein Truth for Men is a herbal and fresh fragrance. It gives the sensation of being in a freshly mown or watered garden, very pleasant and fresh. I don’t know if it smells exactly like the declared notes, but everything it evokes for me is fields of grass, meadows, herbs; it smells green and very well made, making you feel energetic. I don’t find many changes in its development; it’s very similar from start to finish, although at the end it feels more woody. Its projection is moderate to low, but unlike other opinions about its longevity, on my skin it lasted nearly twelve hours, albeit close to the skin. It’s perfect for daytime use in spring and summer; the best thing is that it’s very affordable and doesn’t seem so common now. Suitable for any age.
CK Truth is herbal and fresh. It gives the sensation of a freshly pruned or watered garden. Very pleasant and fresh. I’m not sure if it smells exactly like the declared notes, but it evokes fields of grass and meadows: it smells green, very well made, and gives you energy. Few changes in its development; similar from start to finish, although towards the end it feels more woody. Projection is moderate to low, but unlike other opinions, on my skin it lasted nearly 12 hours as a skin scent. Perfect for daytime use in spring and summer. The best thing is that it’s found very cheaply and doesn’t smell so common now. Suitable for any age.
I sensed the opening with some citrus and even a hint of melon; it briefly reminded me of Escape for Men from the same house. However, afterwards the impression was of a fragrance with synthetic aquatic middle notes. After two hours, the pepper note intensified, which I felt clearly. After six hours, I sensed the sandalwood with some basil. After twelve hours, still the sandalwood with another weak wood, perhaps the famous Japanese red cedar. As for patchouli, in the styles I recognise, almost nothing. I found this fragrance as a rare crossover between aromatic aquatic and green, but in reality it’s ill-defined. Its trail goes from moderate to soft after a few hours and lasted more than twelve hours using the entire sample. It’s geared towards spring, daytime and informal use. I think it’s discontinued and doesn’t add anything to lament it. I see it only for Calvin Klein fragrance collectors.
At the start, I felt citrus and a bit of melon, briefly reminding me of Escape for men. Then, synthetic aquatic middle notes. After two hours, the pepper intensified. After six hours, sandalwood with basil. After twelve hours, sandalwood with another weak wood, perhaps Japanese red cedar. Almost no patchouli. It’s a rare cross between aromatic aquatic and green, poorly defined. Trail is moderate to soft after hours; it lasted over 12 hours with the full sample (1.5 ml). Focused on spring, daytime, and informal use. I believe it’s discontinued and I don’t regret it. Only for Calvin Klein collectors.
It distils finesse: freshly cut grass mixed with a neutral fruit that seems like melon, plus lemon and fresh woods. Incredible. It’s not generic; there is no other green aquatic fragrance like it. It doesn’t shout; it’s sober and elegant. As an olfactory garment, what makes it shine is the hanger; that is, how you project it. Daytime use, casual to relaxed semiformal.
I’ve changed my mind about Truth. It has the virtue of putting me in a good mood every time I wear it. It’s ethereal, very 2003. It shares a spirit with Kenzo Air: minimalist texture, subtle, vaporous. While Kenzo Air is blue sky, Truth is freshly cut, damp grass. An extremely positive, refreshing aroma with a metallic touch and a hint of soft violet. The words green and aquatic describe it well but don’t exhaust it. Although it’s for heat, it serves in any season. By concept, it’s discreet, aura-based, but with surprising longevity. Today, fortunately, it sells at a price that doesn’t match its quality.
I think it’s undervalued. Good for any age, refined, elegant, and natural on the skin. Soft and pleasant, not generic. There was a difficult time finding it, and I feared they would discontinue it, but it’s back at an incredible price. For me, it’s only for summer; in autumn and winter, I prefer something woody. The safest thing is that it doesn’t bother anyone.
I expected it to smell of rain or wet earth as the reviews say, but I was disappointed. It’s herbal but not rainy; perhaps slightly and confusing towards the end. Half aquatic, half citrus, but very faint. Suitable for spring and summer, but also works in autumn and winter if you apply half a bottle. It’s very weak and one-dimensional. Pleasant but boring; ideal for daily wear because it doesn’t bother anyone and is almost imperceptible. Casual, harmless, and unisex. It’s like an Eternity mixed with CK Free and Azzaro Chrome, all muted. I expected more.
Herbal juice. It’s almost identical to Schlesser pour homme, but here there’s a zesty vigour that’s lost in the other. Truth for Men is a mass-market creation, unlike its feminine counterpart, which is an underrated work of art. That said, it’s not bad. It’s a burst of refreshing herbal sweetness, without crushed herbs but rather vigorous, slightly artificial, wet notes with fizzy accents that give it speed. I can’t isolate the notes; it smells like orange juice without any orange, as if they’d stolen the energetic aftertaste of freshly squeezed herbal juice, citrus, woods and synthetic fabrics. It doesn’t invent anything but it’s punchy, perfect for summer. The trail is poor, longevity is good. It costs two duros. I think I’m prejudiced against current men’s launches, which smell like sex clubs and knock-offs. All the Paco Rabanne, Hugo Boss, Carolina Herrera, Versace, Saint Laurent and Diesel from hell. It takes guts for an eighty-euro perfume to smell as artificial as the catalogue scents from years ago. Perhaps I’m sublimating fragrances that don’t deserve it. Truth for Men, when men’s colognes smelled like men, not flavoured condoms.
It’s herb juice. Almost identical to Schlesser pour homme, but here there’s a zesty vigour that is lost in the other. It’s a very common cologne, unlike its feminine version, which is an underrated work of art. It’s not bad: a sweet, herbal, refreshing burst. Not crushed herbs, but vigorous, slightly artificial, wet, and bubbly notes that give a sense of speed. I can’t isolate the notes; it smells like orange juice without any orange, as if it steals the sparkling aftertaste of herbs, citrus, woods, and technical fabrics. It invents nothing but is punchy, perfect for summer. Poor trail, good longevity. It costs two hard coins. Perhaps my hatred of current men’s launches (which smell like cheap club colognes) biases me. Paco Rabanne, Hugo Boss, Versace, and all the saints. It takes guts for an 80-euro perfume to smell as sticky as old colognes. Perhaps I’m elevating fragrances that don’t deserve it. CK Truth is from when men smelled like men, not like flavoured condoms.
CK Truth brings back unforgettable memories. I used it to woo my wife; I gave her a teddy bear I’d perfumed and sent it from another city. I spotted it in a perfumery, bought it for around 500 pesos. I asked her to smell it, and she said it ‘smelt like a teddy bear’. I was left with a ‘what?’ expression. She was referring to the plush toy I’d gifted her 14 years prior. There are scents that never change and remain etched in memory. Thank you, Calvin Klein, for this exquisite fragrance.
Valvin Klein Truth brings back unforgettable memories. I used to wear it when courting my wife. I gave her a teddy bear that I sprayed with this perfume and sent it to her while she was in another city. Recently I saw her in a perfumery and bought it for about twenty-four dollars, roughly five hundred Mexican pesos. I got home, sprayed it on my inner arm and told her to smell it. My surprise was that she said it ‘smells like a teddy bear’. I was left with a ‘what?’ face. I understood then that it smelled like the perfume I’d put on the teddy bear I’d gifted her fourteen years ago. There are aromas that never change and are never forgotten. This is one of them. Thank you Calvin Klein for this exquisite scent.
Good perfume for summer. Fresh, not sweet, herbal and not synthetic, not annoying. After a good cold shower, it’s perfect. After two hours of good trail, it behaves close to the skin for another two hours. Very similar to Uomo Zegna, but Kelvin is more youthful and cool. What stands out most is its good price compared to what we’re used to, that is, Ambroxan and other smelly synthetics. In Mexico it’s still available in catalogues.
Ideal for summer: fresh, not sweet, herbal, and free from synthetic notes that bother. After a cold shower, it’s perfect. Two hours of trail, then skin scent only. Similar to Uomo Zegna, but more youthful and crisp. The price is good compared to expensive synthetics. It’s still available in Mexico’s catalogue.
Maximum freshness, special for enjoying in solitude. I imagine what a bomb it was in its year of creation. A good choice if you love herbal, critical and fresh scents.
I’ve just bought it… disappointment in scent, trail and longevity… DO NOT BUY IT, don’t waste your money.
I bought it and was disappointed: the scent, trail, and longevity are poor. Do not buy it; do not waste your money.
Green is the perfect definition for me, ideal for hot summer and spring days. It opens so fresh with a strong herbal note at first, then calms down. Nothing dominates; the notes seem distinct yet exquisitely blended for something unique. I love that fresh scent that brings calm, combined with cardamom it’s an explosion.
It can never be missing; I always have two: one in use and one as a backup. Totally herbal. Excellent scent.
It’s an essential; I’ve had it since 2002 and always look for it when I run out. Super refreshing, very green, opens fresh and dries down beautifully on the skin. The downside is that it doesn’t last long, but I love the scent.
Weak and poor longevity. I bought it out of curiosity and it disappointed me. The price is high for what it gives: a fresh and clean scent, nothing more. There’s no trail; it lasts a maximum of two hours. There are cheaper or similar options that project and innovate more.
Weak and poor longevity. I bought it out of curiosity and was hugely disappointed. The price is a bit high for what it delivers: a fresh, clean scent that doesn’t go further. No sillage, lasting a maximum of two hours and that’s it. There are other options at a lower or similar price that project and innovate more than CK Truth.
Like love at first sight, for me Truth is love at first sniff, lasting a lifetime. I fell in love in 2002 and it hasn’t let me go since. It’s my favourite: sophisticated, fresh with green leaf notes, moderate trail and longevity that I don’t mind; I apply more and keep enjoying it.
Not much to say, but it’s worth it. Fresh and energetic for a sunny day. If you’re looking for green that reminds you of that outdoor day with freshly cut grass, this is it. Smells delicious, with a sweet touch, total freshness, I love it.
At first, it smells of herbs and freshly cut grass, then the basil becomes noticeable. The trail is soft and doesn’t project much; it lasts about four hours and needs reapplying to last all day. It’s cheap.
It’s not my signature scent, but it’s the only one I’d buy again. Beyond what others say, it’s nostalgic because my mother gave it to me over twenty years ago. The longevity is moderate, but if you’re not looking for something complex, you might like it.
Bought it in 2002; I smelled it on a colleague in an air-conditioned room and fell in love: green and clean. I haven’t worn it for years, but I have a nearly empty bottle from 2014 and have already opened another unopened one. It’s probably my favourite perfume: very fresh, gives you energy and well-being in the morning.
