Descripción
Eternity by Calvin Klein is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 1988, the nose behind this creation is Sophia Grojsman. The top notes unfold a fresh, green bouquet featuring freesia, sage, citrus and tangerine; the heart reveals an intense floral explosion of carnation, lily of the valley, narcissus, calendula, violet, rose and jasmine; while the base notes settle into a warm, woody foundation of musk, heliotrope, sandalwood, amber and patchouli.

It reminds me of my grandmother. It’s a lovely fragrance, but not for me.
For me, it is my perfume; the one that defines and identifies me. I’ve been using it for over 20 years and always have a spare bottle. Floral, intense, clean, and very current, perfect for any time of day and season.
A fresh floral that smells clean, with charisma. One of those good little things that perfumers do from time to time that lasts for decades. Wearing this perfume is not just about using a fragrance icon; it’s a way of seeing life. These words come to my mind with this perfume: Freedom, serenity, and warmth. You just have to look at any of its advertisements, especially the early ones, which truly express the essence of this fragrance and what they want to convey. A fragrance that never goes out of fashion, period. It is different, and we know that in perfumes, being different can be risky; smelling different from others. Perfumes are like personality; everyone should have their own. That is to say, not everyone should smell the same or similar. That is the charm and the distinction.
Eternity by CK is a complex citrus fragrance; it smells like when an orange or lemon has over-ripened. It also has a low, deodorant-like, spicy note that I no longer like; I used to enjoy it in my adolescence, but not anymore. It reminds me very much of Tommy Girl by Tommy Hilfiger, Orange by Hugo Boss, Happy by Clinique, and Hugo Boss Women; definitely, the sense of smell changes… Now, regarding citrus, I prefer those that smell like freshly squeezed and sweet juice that makes you want to drink it, such as Light Blue by Dolce & Gabbana, Funny by Moschino, Colour Drops by Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, and I Love Love by Moschino.
A complex fragrance when you take the time to analyse it. I wasn’t interested in it before because it was so mass-produced and I thought it was a very sweet floral; I have nothing against sweet florals, but I assumed it would be a very clichéd scent. It is not, not at all. In fact, I’m surprised it’s so popular, as it’s not what one usually expects to smell in female fragrances. I find it very unisex, very different, very nineties; I imagine that in the era it was created, it was groundbreaking, as we’re talking about the late 80s. It would be like smelling now the scent that would be in fashion in 2030. It starts strong, not floral at all, a bit alcoholic and musty, but normal enough. This disappears quickly, and what I feel is a green floral, nothing sweet; as minutes pass, it smells like just out of the shower; you can imagine yourself in a bathrobe with wet hair, still surrounded by steam, and you start to feel light unisex notes. As mentioned below, it seems to smell like a spa; I agree. At times, a very slight sweetness appears, but in the background, perhaps the carnation or lily. It is in the dry-down that it becomes, on my skin, completely unisex; it reminds me greatly of those classic men’s perfumes from the 90s, in fact, it transported me back to my father in his youth, I don’t know why. And this unisex, fresh, classic scent is what predominates until the end. Very soapy; I don’t smell any citrus at all, nor did I find it an elegant aroma for formal parties; I found it youthful, for everyday wear, even for hot days, as I felt it was fresh and not sweet. All of this in the ‘lab test’, that is to say, me calmly and attentively noting every variation with my nose on my wrist, sitting at home with no distractions. On the street, with the hustle and bustle of the day, impressions of the same fragrance change greatly, and it is there that I find it a bit sweet, very little compared to a decidedly sweet perfume, but it is felt, a bit warmer even, no longer so unisex, it becomes more amber towards the end. It projects well; you can feel that you are perfumed without having to press your nose against the skin, for at least four hours. It still seems to me to be a fragrance of the ‘smells clean’ variety, despite the slight change; it’s not the typical feminine one, I stand by that. Moreover, I think a boy could dare to wear it; I’m sure it would suit men very well. I love that such a non-conventional female scent is popular, so long live Eternity.
I bought it again today after four or five years; it’s probably the one I’ve purchased most often. For me, it’s a scent that doesn’t age; after so many years, it still seems innovative and full of personality, unmistakable. What I perceive most is the carnation with green aromas. It smells clean on me. Its longevity is far greater than most current fragrances, and its performance is spectacular, though you must not over-spray or risk overwhelming anyone who comes near you in the first hour. I will undoubtedly buy it a few more times.
I wouldn’t define Eternity as floral. It has strong, persistent notes. It’s a fragrance with real character that defines neither a decade nor a fashion trend. It suits any time of day. It’s very urban, New York-style. Perfect for days that start at 7 am and end at 10 pm. I would definitely wear it again.
I perceive it as a sweet floral. I’ve been using it for years and I like it very much; it even became my favourite.
As its name suggests, I fell in love with this creation by Sophie Grojsman. During my adolescence, it was my signature scent; every time I wore it, I felt something herbal tattooing itself onto my skin. It was with this perfume that I fell in love and met my first love. Now I know it was a brilliant blend of flowers and herbs. On my skin, the florals come out, but the herbal notes in the background reign supreme. Its minimalist bottle encases a fascinating fragrance that continues to sell and be admired in perfumeries.
I absolutely loved it; I’ve had it for twelve years now. The only drawback is that sometimes it smells just like everyone else’s, probably because I’m a Dior Poison and Mugler girl. I don’t think I’ll be repeating it.
I used to wear it a lot in my adolescence. I remember a boy chasing me almost a block saying ‘you smell delicious’; I was scared because I was only fourteen. That’s when I realised the delicious perfume I was wearing. I fell in love at first sniff (of the perfume, not the boy, haha). Back then I didn’t know how to describe it, I just loved it. Now I’d categorise it as unisex, as there are many similar ones; I feel it as a fresh floral. But it remains a super perfume with the great style of CK.
Unmistakable and unparalleled. These are the fragrances that take you back in time or make you remember someone, that evoke an emotion or a memory. I’m fascinated by it. Fresh, sophisticated, and rich.
They’ll say I’m mad, but it has vibes of Red Door or vice versa. If you like one but it doesn’t suit you, try the other. It’s lovely, feminine, and has that vintage touch (less than RD). I’d have it in my collection if there were an offer, exchange, or partial payment, but for now I don’t need it. Eternity, more than well-named this fragrance ♾️
A great perfume that has everything: trail, longevity, and a very low price for what it is. From the very first moment, it reminded me of Amarige, just less intense. Ideal for any time, but better on days that aren’t too hot because it can be overwhelming. The blend of mandarin and jasmine gives it lots of personality and it doesn’t go out of style. A CK jewel.
An eternal perfume, just like its name. It’s feminine, from the nineties, white floral, strong, fresh, and with personality. I like it.
Very good perfume, smells clean and soapy. I use it to go out on sunny days, freshly showered with damp hair. I feel super clean and well-presented. It has a great trail. It’s fresh and timeless, zero sweetness, very herbal, like straight out of the shower. Ideal for daytime and warm climates. Lasts many hours on the skin (about six) and on clothes until you wash them; excellent longevity.
I was very surprised by this perfume I just bought. When applied, it smells very clean and powdery, then evolves into something fresh and elegant with a soapy touch.
I tried it fifteen days ago. I always saw it in stores with the CK ones but never worked up the courage. The surprise was enormous. The perfumed cardboard left the scent everywhere, so much that my family asked what that delicious smell was. I bought it again instantly. It’s a beautiful surprise and yet very familiar, as if it had always been part of my life. It’s a classic I felt I knew but didn’t know which one it was. I love that it smells of flowers with that acidic touch. For now, it reminds me of Tresor, especially at the end. A beautiful discovery. Has it been reformulated?
Incredible perfume. The blend of notes is so complex that it makes it super versatile and eternal. On my skin, the evolution is spectacular: it starts green-floral with a subtle citrus touch, then explodes into intense flowers like carnations and violets, finishing with a refined musky base. The longevity is brutal, lasting over eight hours with a huge trail. I never tried it before due to prejudice, thinking it would be old-fashioned or that so many notes wouldn’t work, but I loved it. Nowadays it’s less common, so people ask what I’m wearing because it smells different and they love it. They say I’m leaving a beautiful trail. Happy to have discovered my Eternity; I love it.
I tried it and wow, it smells delicious. At first, it reminds me of Perry Ellis 360, but then it becomes pure clean and fresh. It’s a masterpiece of perfumery, timeless, and adapts to everyone’s pH. It’s potent, lasts all day, and leaves a trail. It doesn’t go out of style; it’s pure art.
I’ve heard it mentioned for decades. I discovered it recently and was delighted. It’s a floral herbal scent, barely sweet, with good longevity.
I’ve received plenty of compliments on this perfume, and no matter how many chances I give it, I still don’t like it. Watch out! It’s not ugly; it’s very nice, soft, a clean scent if you like. I think my problem is that I don’t feel identified with it and it just doesn’t quite match. The longevity is good, as is the performance.
A classic. I’d forgotten about it, overlooked it so many times; it’s one of those perfumes you take for granted. Amidst the novelties, brands, snobbery, and who knows what else, we sometimes forget to turn our steps back to the safe bet: good, beautiful, and cheap perfumes, the 3 Bs. From CK, I always return to or think of CK One; I love it, perfect for spring-summer with scorching heat, for daily wear, an unpretentious day, or just another day at work. But recently a perfumer gave me a sample of Eternity, so I had no choice but to acknowledge its eternity: what was good about it is, and will remain, a good perfume with many flowers, balanced, very easy to use, a true all-rounder.
Well, I’ve just received this perfume which I’ve known for years. I must say it’s for advanced noses; it has nothing to do with today’s perfumery, yet it still transcends and remains eternal. It’s a green, dry floral. Very green and very dry. If you’re looking for sweetness, you won’t find it in the opening, heart, or dry down. It’s sumptuously unisex; I could wear it on my husband and I use it myself too. I read a very apt comment below: in the opening it smells like a DENTIST, then it dissipates and its flowers come into their own splendour, but like freshly cut flowers left on damp earth and wet grass. I can’t detect any musk, amber, or almost any base notes. I bought it in winter, so we’ll see how it performs in hotter weather.
This is a late-80s perfume that teaches us that even with many notes combined, beautiful and well-executed fragrances can be created that are imitated for years and remain timeless. Eternity is exactly that: eternal on skin, in the trail, on clothes, and in people’s affections. Another example that an affordable perfume can smell wonderful, possess great personality, and feel entirely natural. It’s an aroma perfectly suited as a signature scent that commands presence and poise in the office for the woman who wears it. A true marvel from Calvin Klein, one that is sorely missed in their current launches. Its dupe from Yanbal, Temptation, is 99.9% identical to Eternity.
Eternity is a very familiar scent. It smells more like a 1990s bathroom vanity than the 1980s, a sort of antibacterial soap or shampoo. It’s fresh but versatile; I see it as ideal for any season. There’s something about it that makes it feel cold, fitting the comments comparing it to a dentist’s surgery. For some reason, it reminds me of Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct.
One of the few perfumes I simply cannot stand. I wanted to like it, but when I tested it on my skin, the only thing that came to mind was the smell of a dentist’s office. I don’t know which ingredient it could be, perhaps the clove. The longevity is excellent for the price; on my skin, it lasted at least 8–10 hours.
I absolutely love this; I started wearing it in secondary school and it became my signature scent for years. What I adore most is that it smells like Tic Tacs to me – those little mint or yerba buena tablets. Plus, the longevity and projection are incredible on my skin.
To me, it smells like Tic Tac mints and dentist… The floral notes are noticeable in the base, but throughout the entire wear, the dental office scent sticks with me 🙁 It’s not a bad perfume; in fact, despite smelling like a dentist, it smells nice… I just don’t know if I’d be brave enough to wear it.
I absolutely love clean, soapy perfumes. I read the reviews before buying and thought it would smell like a dentist’s office… and indeed, it does. But then the clove and lily blend comes through. Depending on my nose’s mood, it’s sometimes the summery lady, other times a bouquet of flowers, and occasionally just dentist. The longevity on skin and clothes is brutal, and the trail lasts forever.
My aunt used to wear Eternity, I will always remember it. It’s smelling it and remembering my dear aunt.
I always felt it was like spicy powder from some makeup, I don’t know which note it is but it causes me a lot of itching. I always imagined it on an older woman. The truth is I don’t like it at all, although it’s stuck in my memory: every time I smell it I identify it instantly and remember the job 25 years ago where I used to hear it.
Totally reformulated, what a pity it’s no longer the 80s Eternity, where the longevity and projection were lasting.
One of my favourites, a classic that reminds me of my mother. That scent was unmistakable at home before going to work: fresh, clean, and with bright notes. For me, it doesn’t smell like a dentist’s office, but rather of green notes. Yes, it’s citrusy, but it doesn’t smell like a dentist; I think someone said that at some point and then everyone repeated it. It smells very fresh, clean, and timeless.
The quintessential scent of the 90s, something that never goes out of fashion. It smells fresh, like straight out of the shower. I had it and didn’t pay much attention, so I passed it to my mother-in-law to enjoy. It’s suitable for all ages. Good trail, longevity, and very affordable price.
The boy I fell in love with at sixteen wore it; I thought it was Eternity for Men, but it was hers. It looks so good on a boy, it really takes you by surprise. I never got rid of that memory and it became my favourite fragrance. Now I’m looking for other olfactory loves, but I always keep it. When I need to feel well, I use it and it brings me peace.
Lots of carnation. It was a hit in Argentina in the 80s, very persistent with a great trail. A university classmate used it and only received compliments; I didn’t like it much, preferring Givenchy Amarige. Today, in 2025, I tried it again and it was the same: I only smell carnations. They seem to persist on my skin, which isn’t very good for fixing perfumes, but it’s noticeable at a distance.
I thought I would love it because it’s a 90s classic like CK One. I was surprised: it literally smells like cloves, that dentist smell, which isn’t in the official notes but on my skin it overpowers everything. I don’t detect jasmine, neroli, or carnation. Those who compared it to Perry Ellis 360 were wrong, because there is carnation and other notes there. With Eternity it’s like putting on pure clove essential oil. In contrast, in L’Air du Temps the clove blends with the rest. For this reason, I see it as more masculine and it doesn’t attract me. I’m going to sell my bottle.
It smells strong and unisex, even more masculine; I think it suits a man better than me. For me, the carnation note dominates, which doesn’t suit me well, although I know others adore it. Very timeless, but personally I prefer other things.
A classic floral fragrance that shines with its flowers, musk, and a touch of citrus. Performance, trail, and longevity are impeccable. In the heat, it keeps me fresh despite being powerful. I love it and will always return for it.
