Sexual by Michel Germain is an oriental floral fragrance from the olfactory family, launched in 1994 and designed for women. The nose behind this composition is Sophia Grojsman. The top notes include blackcurrant, osmanthus, honeysuckle, clementine and bergamot; the heart features rose, gardenia, freesia, jasmine and water lily; while the base notes are myrrh, sandalwood, cinnamon, vanilla and neroli.

Yesterday at the Palacio, a staff member gave me a scented paper sample; with my one-year-old in the pram, I didn’t pay attention to the name or fragrance, just kept the paper and thanked them. Later, when I met a friend, that delicious aroma appeared. Due to my inexperience, I can’t describe it perfectly, but it reminded me of magnolia, roses, honey, cinnamon, and other beautifully harmonised notes. It is extremely feminine, elegant and refined, warm and sweet without being cloying – a true beauty. I couldn’t wait any longer and asked what perfume my friend was wearing; she was about to ask me the same thing. Our great surprise was that neither of us was wearing it, but my handbag: 212 eclipsed my own duende. I wonder if there’s some magic trick in those testers, because my bag smells like angels crowned with garlands; I definitely must own it. It seems ideal for going out in a chic black and white outfit with red lips – sexy yet very refined.
