I expected it to be more potent, but on my skin it softens over time. Initially, freshly cut pineapple dominates, but as it dries down, the florals, vanilla and woods emerge, leaving a soapy trail. It reminds me of those vibes from the 90s and, if I’m not mad, the old Anouk by Puig with the pink cap. The current version of Anouk disappointed me, but this Jaipur truly transports me back to my childhood. Does anyone else notice that similarity? 🙂

I just finished a decant gifted by a friend and finally I can talk about Jaipur, a classic I wanted to try. It is very fruity and floral with a vintage air. To me, it smells of peach and a bouquet of flowers of all colours with dusty nuances; no single note stands out, but the blend is balanced and nothing is strident. The base is resinous and even animalic. It resembles Volupté in style but is not the same. Although the fruity sensation is similar, here there is no mimosa, just that floral bouquet. Volupté is more punchy, projects more and lasts longer, but perhaps less refined. It has moderate sillage and lasts 8-9 hours; it is very wearable and spring-like. If you like imposing and classic florals, you might like it. It is a good alternative if Volupté or Tresor feel heavy to you, although if you have to pay gold prices, dosed Volupté is the better option. Scent 7/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Sillage 7.5/10, Value for money 7/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 6/10. Would I buy it again? I did not buy it.

I expected something supreme but the truth is that it is not… I managed to get some millilitres due to the hype and expected something more striking, but it is quite balanced. I am used to the peach of Yvresse by YSL and expected that potency, but here it is more subtle, nothing shouty and very floral. I smell freesia, caramelised pineapple, plum… The result is subtle-moderate. One could expect something colossal like the masculine version, which would flood the room, but no. It feels like a fragrance half-gas. It is moderate for an hour and drops to skin-level until it fades away at 8-9 hours. Would I pay what some places ask? Personally, no. If you already know it, that is your decision, but for blind buys or collecting, I would not pay that.

It is a fantastic perfume, delicate, elegant, mysterious, exquisite and unique. It steals my words; its aroma transports you to another world or era. It is so rich that I love it and, at the same time, very little used. If you go to a dinner or a romantic night with that aroma, you will definitely be the queen of the place. It is simply enchanting.

Fruity? I never felt it was fruity, I think white florals predominate, but it feels ambered and above all woody. I rather feel it as oriental-floral, it is very very strong. They gifted it to me long ago and it has lasted centuries; with one or two sprays you are perfumed for almost the rest of your life. I think it smells a bit like an older lady. It has an unparalleled presence and distinction, that is undisputed. It is stately, simply.
