  • I’d like to buy the Paris version which I’ve spotted in a perfumerie; could you list its composition? It’s called the same but ‘Paris’, and it’s a soft violet colour. Thank you, Fragrantica.

  • A while back a friend let me try the first version of Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue, and curiously, it had nothing to do with the sparkling citrus scent it has now. It was creamier, far less sparkling, more fruity, and reminded me of this Mandarina Duck fragrance.

I’ve been wearing it on my skin for nearly 24 hours and it remains citrusy and watery. It’s very light; you can detect the bamboo, cedar, and apple in that order. As it dries down, it becomes slightly more acidic but is very similar to Nautica Voyage, just in a watery, feminine version. It’s harmless, clean, and pleasant, but it doesn’t win me over. I don’t see it as being quite like the Dolce & Gabbana one; this is less sharp and acidic, essentially an apple wrapped in bamboo and enveloped by the cleanliness of cedar.

I picked up this EDT at a bargain price. I think Mandarina Duck’s travel line is discontinued, though I’m not entirely sure. It smells incredibly soft yet lasts well; on the skin it’s like a citrus, green, and woody cream, although it lacks projection. It projects moderately at first before fading quickly, lingering on the skin as a very soft scent for hours. The aroma is rich, and the bamboo gives it a special touch. Ideal for hot days, when you’re feeling unwell or have a headache because it’s not overpowering, perfect for resting at home as a body mist. Also, keep in mind it could be used to mix with another fragrance. I have no complaints; I prefer fresh, soft perfumes, and it cost me less than a Victoria’s Secret body mist.
