Juicy Couture Eau de Couture is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2008, this composition was created by perfumer Harry Fremont. In my country, I can only find it this way; apparently, everyone reviews the one with the lock, the one I wanted, but no, I’m certain I have the one with the crown, and I smell they aren’t the same. It’s sweet, white floral, citrusy, caramelised; you have to choose well where to spray. The opening is brutal, abrupt, hard to describe, like a soapy neroli with orange and very sweet, though it doesn’t announce crème brûlée; I think it has a touch of salty, powdery vanilla that becomes more present and feminine as it dries. It has a green note that makes it fresh. Everything sits on a woody base, between gourmand and soapy. Sillage is medium, but if you smell the skin up close, it projects a lot. Everything is noticeable except the watermelon. As it dries, it gives signals of cleanliness and a sweet-salty gourmand that reminds me of a cookie, like the neck crown. It smells best there, just like the bottle. I also own Gold Couture and they don’t differ much; I’ve had other Juicy ones that were more distinct. It reminds me a little of JPG for its sweetness and abruptness, the attitude, but not any other perfume. It doesn’t send a message to anyone; it goes with everything and I had it tucked away. 💣. It’s a job similar to Ariana Grande’s Thank You Next, just not in red berries and with another dessert… it also reminds me of JPG’s Classique Essence (the whipped cream one). That’s the only thing I can reference (very vaguely, don’t take them as similar), as I know nothing alike, but it’s a gourmand dry-down, not a fresh floral.
I understand the ‘old lady’ rumours because it starts as pure floral, but dries down to something sweeter. It’s not fruity or juicy, rather fresh and sweet, perfect for daily wear, day or night. It hasn’t blown me away, but it works well in the office; perhaps I’ll gift it to my mum. I got it in a set with a mini, travel size and body cream, so it was a good purchase and I finally have a JC. However, as I prefer gourmand or sweeter scents, I might grab a Viva LJ instead. Maybe if I let it macerate it will change a bit, so I’ll keep it for a few weeks and update the review.
