Fleur de Fleurs by Nina Ricci is an aldehydic floral fragrance for women. Launched in 1982, the nose behind this composition is Betty Busse. The top notes are aldehydes, green notes, bergamot and lemon; the heart notes include hyacinth, valley lily, lilac, magnolia, cyclamen, iris, ylang-ylang, jasmine and rosemary; and the base notes are ambrette, musk and sandalwood.

This fragrance brings back memories of a very special gift from when I was twenty. It’s a pity I can’t find it now; I believe they’ve discontinued it.
The advertising is beautiful and so is the bottle; I love the bouquet idea. I’ve been wanting to try it for years and finally got the chance. Fleur de Fleurs is floral, soft and innocent like Capricci or Farouche, but it’s the least favourite of the three. Although it was launched in the 80s, it shares the DNA with its older sisters and doesn’t stray far from them. In the composition, I thought the flowers would take centre stage, but the green notes and musk steal the show. It’s not a bad fragrance, it’s very subtle and soft, but the advertising made me expect something else that never arrived.
