The opening is a very green, intense and fresh matcha that quickly blends with the woody notes, leaving a scent on my skin reminiscent of a green meadow in spring 🌸. I do notice a slight sweet touch from the heart notes, but on my skin they are almost imperceptible, especially at first. As the hours pass, they become more noticeable, leaving a scent like a body cream. It has been the one I liked least from this new collection, and also the one that strays furthest from my personal style. A pity because I had heard nothing but wonders, but it simply isn’t for me.
It’s that kind of special fragrance that seeks a sensory experience through the evolution of the notes, rather than just a simple accompaniment. It emerges like a realistic, predominant dry matcha tea, which gradually transforms into a lovely café oat milk smoothie, gourmand and comforting. It doesn’t have great projection or sillage; it’s average, but it clings to you for hours. It’s comfortable to wear; I’m not sure how others perceive it, but that doesn’t matter. It’s nice that this scent feels like a warm embrace.
👃Impressions: ⏱️ Starts with an intense nutty touch, like pistachio, very gourmand and addictive from the very first second. ⏱️ At 12 minutes, the bergamot and apple bring freshness and balance. ⏱️ At 27 minutes, the blend of citrus with coffee and praline is delicious; it literally makes me want to smell my arm all the time 🤍. ⏱️ At 47 minutes, the lemon and praline join the sandalwood, warming and enveloping the aroma. ⏱️ At 1h:14, it’s a blend of bergamot, milk, vanilla and praline: creamy, soft and comforting. ⏱️ At 1h:47, just praline and milk, pure bliss. ⏱️ At 4 hours, praline with a subtle vanilla. ⏱️ At 8 hours, it’s no longer detectable on my skin. 💨 Projection and sillage are medium, perfect for everyday wear or quiet moments.
As a matcha tea lover, this was my most anticipated perfume from the collection. At first, it smells super green and slightly bitter, mixed with a very prominent ‘dry’ oat note… I wasn’t sure if I’d be fully thrilled. But after a few minutes, it stops being so sharp; it remains earthy throughout its evolution, but much creamier and with a sweet touch. The matcha note recedes, and in the dry-down, the classic ambery sandalwood of the house appears… which, to be honest, works quite well. As I said, the matcha with oat milk part, as I define it (though creamier than lactonic), persists throughout the evolution, making it a rich, warm, and comforting perfume. I consider it less polarising than other dry/bitter matcha scents like Milk&Matcha by Obvious or Je ne sais quoi by Teo Cabanel. On the other hand, it gives off a full matcha latte vibe, but is much less cloyingly sweet than Matcha Ice Cream by Theodoros Kalotinis. Basically, for me, it’s probably one of the best I’ve tried with this note. Lasts 6-8 hours on skin, depending on the day, with moderate projection and sillage. I wouldn’t rule out buying a bottle if they finally release it in a 50 mL format.
