I love it. It smells like chocolate with vanilla and a boozy touch, also a bit like tobacco.
To be honest, I don’t understand the jargon. It smells nice, yes, but it’s nothing out of this world. I think Kayali plays its cards well with limited editions to get people rushing to buy. It has a certain resemblance to Delina Exclusif, so nothing new.
If you like the vanilla and sandalwood in this fragrance, try Cotton Abyed by Mamlakat al Oud (not on Fragantica). They are 65% similar; it’s not a dupe but it’s from the same family, it smells great, lasts longer and costs less. Also, from 22 October 2024, Wedding Silk Santal becomes permanent in Sephora and will be available on the website in Spain. If you want to see the comparison with Cotton Abyed, look for my profile on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube @probadoaprobado.
It reminds me of Candy Baby by Victoria’s Secret. It’s a rich scent, but on my skin, it lasts a blink.
I bought the decant and, knowing they would restock, I didn’t hesitate for a second. It’s intoxicating, delicate and feminine; warm, sweet and fruity. I love it, but the longevity and projection leave much to be desired. I have five other Kayalis that smell and last a treat, and this is not the case. What a pity, because the 50ml are more expensive than the others. Nevertheless, I don’t regret it. Kayali is a must for me.
So far, Silk Santal 36 is my favourite Kayali. It smells fruity-floral, sweet and very luminous thanks to that champagne note that dominates from the start. The sugared vanilla appears afterwards and reminds me of Vanilla 28, but softer. The name is misleading: the sandalwood is only noticeable at the end, very subtle, nothing woody as I expected. I like it a lot. It lasts 7-8 hours, with moderate projection at the beginning and softer later. It’s super feminine, delicate and versatile. Will it be my first purchase from the brand? Maybe.
At first, it reminds me of AG’s Mod Vanilla, very faint, but when it dries down, it’s a diluted Angel’s Share. Pure marketing, like all the Kayalis that end up disappointing.
It disappointed me a bit. At first, it smells like that sweet mix of freesia and rose I made with Flowerbomb and Vanilla 28, but within 10 minutes, it’s left as just a watered-down, diluted Vanilla 28. It gives off a vibe similar to Ariana Grande fragrances, but it’s a bland little vanilla that lasts only six hours. It’s cute, but not original or impactful; I wouldn’t buy it again.
I stepped up my game with this, but in the end, it’s just a sweet little dessert without that promised sandalwood. It smells nice, but in summer, you have to be careful with the sprays.
I think I went a bit heavy-handed with this perfume. It’s very sweet and pleasant, but I don’t detect any sandalwood. It sounds more like a dessert to me. It suits me all year round, provided I don’t apply too many drops in the summer.
