An extraordinary perfume and a rarity amidst current sweetened trends. Don’t be alarmed by its launch, because yes, the opening is very alcoholic. But as it dries down, the fruits emerge: a plum and an orange with its peel, frosted and drenched in liquor. Then comes the magic of the spices: cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, and a lovely pepper, so well-balanced and exquisite. Combined with a woody scent that resembles leather made of incense, its evolution becomes a gift. To call it an oriental floral is an understatement; it’s also fruity, spiced, peppery, ambered, smoky, rough, warm, and absolutely intoxicating. I barely detect the flowers. It’s one of the least synthetic perfumes I’ve ever smelled, with infinite longevity and a good trail. It evokes a dark valley with damp vegetation and no flowers, sheltered by oaks in autumn, a rough cabin with a fireplace burning wood, and a basket of fruit surviving the smoke.
The very worst of the worst, an utterly aberrant and repulsive mess. It smells dreadful, like skunk urine detectable from miles away. Surely it was created by someone high on drugs or alcohol. It’s impossible for anyone with their five senses to create such an atrocity.
A jewel of perfumery, exotic and unique. Today I saw a review saying they were finishing it off, but that’s a lie; it’s exclusive and unique, the kind of perfume you should only gift to your worst enemy.
A perfume with plenty of character, suitable for both men and women, that only seduces lovers of pure scents from the old days. It begins with unusual fruity and spicy notes before settling into an amber and incense that cling to the skin for hours. It transports you back to a time when perfume was a scarce commodity and not a single drop was wasted; its potency is such that a 2.5 ml sample lasted me almost a month with daily use.
With a name like this, anyone would think it’s a light, fresh eau de toilette, but my goodness, the initial impact is brutal, almost knocking me over; it smells like bear pheromones mixed with digestif. After months, I tried it with just two drops and the evolution is another world: within 15 minutes it stops being animalistic and settles into an absolute leather, sturdy, with notes of amber, suede, spices, musk, and ripe plums. It’s animal, creamy, enveloping, and comforting, nothing like those trendy sweets. I’d recommend it if you love Kenzo Jungle, Opium, Poison, or Versace Donna. I adored it.
