Another fragrance that breaks the mould. Everything is so well blended that it’s hard to distinguish the notes: it starts with a carefully crafted cinnamon, adds vanilla, and leaves a hint of lavender at the base. The result smells unusual yet delicious, like fresh baby milk, though with a caramelised twist. The longevity isn’t beastly as one might expect from an EDP, but it lasts a long time. The projection is just right: it doesn’t overpower, yet it doesn’t go unnoticed. If you enjoy oriental scents, you must try it. Greetings from Chile!
I just received this perfume from an order and I must say it smells good but not very good, that’s my opinion. I applied it this morning and it smells too much of cinnamon with a rather soapy touch, perhaps due to the bergamot, which lasts a long time. When the perfume dries, the cinnamon stabilises but the soapy touch remains, something I find in many perfumes: a soapy opening that lasts 10 minutes before moving to its great essences. This perfume is quite the opposite; the bergamot stays in the phase of maximum exposure when the top spice notes should put it in the background. In short, I see it as a perfume too much for people older than me. I haven’t found any vanilla in it, only large amounts of cinnamon at the start and a soapy note that is too heavy. This perfume rates 3/10.

This fragrance is an explosion of spices, especially where the rosemary stands out, giving that raspy touch to the aroma. It has spectacular longevity that becomes a bit heavy for my taste, but it possesses excellent quality on the skin. I recommend it for cold seasons, especially for evenings.
At first, a very subtle sweet cinnamon that blends with the vanilla and perhaps a barely perceptible touch of lavender. The rosemary must be there, but I don’t notice it. The bergamot doesn’t either. The warmth of the cinnamon softens as it blends with the vanilla, while the lavender really comes through in the heart. The skin scent is sweet and soft, with sandalwood and perhaps more vanilla than cinnamon. Sweet without being cloying, very pleasant. Longevity and sillage are moderate.
At first, a very subtle sweet cinnamon that mixes with the vanilla and perhaps an even subtler lavender… The rosemary must be there but I don’t notice anything of it. The bergamot either. The warmth of the cinnamon softens, although it predominates throughout alongside the vanilla, and it’s the lavender that truly appears in the heart phase. The skin scent is sweet and soft, with sandalwood and perhaps more vanilla than cinnamon. Sweet without being cloying… very pleasant. Moderate longevity, moderate sillage.
Where have I heard this before? I love oriental fragrances more than I thought, yes, but I need there to be differences between them, and in this case it’s just another oriental… It reminds me quite a bit of CK Obsession, much less intense but fairly similar. It opens with a non-clean lavender, rather sweetened by the cinnamon and vanilla. It builds on a base of patchouli and musk that are noticeable until the end. I detect something green, possibly the rosemary, and a very soft, unobtrusive wood. Longevity and sillage are moderate.
For me, it’s a nocturnal lavender, elegant and Parisian. Lavender in men’s perfumery often sins by being excessively sweet, tiring, and overwhelming, like in Caron Le Male… but that’s not the case with Mauboussin. Here there is elegance and good behaviour.

A special and exquisite fragrance. The lavender blends perfectly with the cinnamon at the outset, before giving way to a soft rosemary note without losing its spicy touch. Magnificent, though for an EDP, both the longevity and the trail are a little limited. 7/10.

I bought it blindly because Fragrantica says it’s the closest match to Casual Friday, my favourite fragrance which is no longer available. And yes, it does remind me of it a lot. It breaks the mould: it smells of vanilla but without caramel or excessive sweetness, nor ambroxan. Spices dominate, especially cinnamon and lavender. It’s a clean scent but not soapy like Prada Amber; it’s a clean, universal fragrance that doesn’t offend or draw attention. Clearly for daytime: if you wear it at night, Ultramale or One Million will eat you alive. I absolutely love it for its specific moments; it’s brilliant.
To be honest, I bought it blindly because according to Fragrantica it’s the closest to Casual Friday, one of my favourite fragrances that sadly disappeared. Yes, it reminds me quite a bit: a scent that breaks the current mould. It doesn’t smell of vanilla although it has it, no caramel, no sweetness, and no ambroxan, just spices, cinnamon, and above all lavender. It’s a clean scent, but not soapy like Prada Amber; it’s a universal clean that doesn’t offend or draw attention over others. Clearly a daytime scent; if you wear it at night, Ultramale, XS Night, or One Million will eat you alive. I love it; for its specific moments, it’s brilliant.
Although it’s marketed for men, I absolutely loved that spicy aroma, especially because I adore rosemary and sage, which were so delicately outlined that it instantly reminded me of the delicious Spicebomb, so I adopted it. I tested it on a fresh spring day and didn’t notice the other notes, just these two that I love. Its projection isn’t the best on the current market, nor is it bad; what is phenomenal is its longevity on skin; in my case, at least 7 hours 🙂
I haven’t connected with it; it feels too ambiguous for my liking. The longevity and sillage are very discreet. The opening and the fade simply don’t convince me.
Subtle luck and versatile, perfect for mature men with a young soul. It opens with rosemary reminiscent of Issey Miyake’s Eau Bleue, but soon cinnamon takes over without being overly long-lasting, making its presence felt. The best part is the dry-down: a soft patchouli and subtle vanilla that keep the last three hours exquisite, elegant, and without any harshness. My only gripe is that I’d prefer more patchouli than cinnamon, but that’s just my taste. It’s very affordable and a great daily scent for lovers of green and woody fragrances. Forget the ‘old man’ smell; this is nothing like that.
A very subtle and versatile perfume, ideal for adult men with a youthful spirit. It opens with rosemary that recalls Issey Miyake’s Eau Bleue, but the cinnamon quickly takes over the scent, though it is not very long-lasting, as if to say ‘here I am’. The dry-down is the best: soft patchouli and also subtle vanilla emerge, leaving you with the last three hours of an exquisite, elegant and unobtrusive aroma. The only negative is that I would have preferred more patchouli and less cinnamon, but that is a matter of personal taste. It is very cheap and a good perfume for everyday wear for lovers of green and woody scents. Oh, you will definitely not smell like an old man.
