Grapefruit, pepper, and vetiver basically. It reminds me a lot of Invictus, but I’ve liked this one more.
I agree it resembles Invictus, but its quality is far superior, as is its longevity, since Invictus quality is poor. I own all four fragrances from the Icon family and must say they are very well crafted and their presentation is excellent.
Spectacular fragrance!
Too much ‘hype’ for such a mediocre fragrance. Let’s say it’s a copy of a copy, of a copy… of everything flooding the market. Low longevity and sillage… what? The first Icon is good, but frankly, it happens to me the same as with Midnight in Paris: nothing that hasn’t been done before and with better results. RSLG (recommended if you like it): Invictus, Wanted, Stronger with You, etc. 65/100.
You’re making Invictus copies like hot dogs! I’m an Invictus user and today I was given a sample of this Dunhill Spring Icon and I loved it, plus the design is super original. 10/10.
What a triumph by Dunhill! I bought it recently and it’s extraordinary. The citrus opening with bergamot gives a sense of cleanliness, then the heart of pepper and lavender adds strength, finishing with an excellent and super-long-lasting dry down of woody and vetiver notes. It’s true it smells a bit like Invictus, but in my opinion, it’s much better; it feels more refined, and needless to say, the sillage is simply spectacular.
A magnificent success from Dunhill; I’ve just purchased it and it’s extraordinary. The citrus opening with bergamot gives a sense of cleanliness, followed by a heart of pepper and lavender that adds strength, and it closes excellently with woods and vetiver, boasting superb longevity. It’s true that it bears a slight resemblance to Invictus, but in my view, it is far superior, feeling more refined, and needless to say, the longevity is simply outstanding.
What a curious scent; it makes me feel like I’m in a garden full of flowers of every colour, like those films with enormous gardens. The floral is dense but blends brilliantly with the freshness of the grapefruit and bergamot. It feels elegant, seductive, and very good. The longevity is pleasant, around 10 hours without any issues. Every time I smell it, I feel as though I’m carrying a large bouquet for my wife, so in this case, the bouquet is me. A very peculiar aroma, though admittedly it is a bit pricey.
What a beautiful fragrance! I don’t understand why people compare it to Invictus. That orange blossom is crafted masterfully; it’s a note I usually don’t like, but here I’ve rediscovered it. The pepper and bergamot remind me a little of YSL L’Homme, but combined with the rest, it works much better. On my skin, it lasts over 8 hours and projects moderately for the first three. I’ve tested it several times and I’m sure I’ll buy it as soon as I can.
It’s rare for this fragrance to remain so little-known, but anyone claiming it smells just like Invictus Infamy is very much mistaken. Let’s be realistic: Paco Rabanne’s version is artificial and generic, whereas Icon Racing is better crafted with quality ingredients, particularly that orange blossom which is the finest I’ve ever smelled in a men’s perfume. There is no coherent comparison between the two.
It’s clear this isn’t a mass-market fragrance; hardly anyone knows it here. Comparing it to Invictus Infamy is absurd: Paco Rabanne smells artificial and mediocre, whereas Icon Racing is well-made with quality ingredients, especially that orange blossom note, which is the best I’ve tried in a men’s perfume. There’s no comparison whatsoever.
This is the first fragrance review from the Alfred Dunhill house and it’s Dunhill Icon Racing. The truth is, I didn’t like it at all. Its opening is very moderate; citrus notes are noticeable, and as it dries down, a very faint lavender with a pinch of pepper is detected. I can’t comment on the base notes because its trail and longevity are scarce, at most three hours, and I’m generous, before it settles right against the skin. I deeply disagree with the previous reviewers and with a Spanish YouTuber who praised this fragrance, but to my nose, it’s very linear, trendy, and quite basic. It has no versatility and its longevity is scarce. I have it to complete the Icon line from the Dunhill house, as I own the three fragrances: Icon, Icon Elite, and Absolute. The acquisition in my country, Argentina, was in a non-economic set containing a 30ml bottle, accompanied by a body shower and an after-shave I haven’t tried yet. In summary, a fragrance that adds nothing and only serves, I repeat, if you want to own the Dunhill Icon collection.
Icon Racing is fresh, aromatic, and musky. It begins slightly sweet, reminiscent of bubblegum, which is why it’s compared to Invictus, but it quickly evolves into something more floral and fresh, less formal, thanks to its musk. It’s versatile for almost any season, featuring woods and fresh notes. It isn’t as mature as the original, nor overly youthful; it suits someone who has just started their first job. It lasted an entire working day and, although it doesn’t project heavily, the scent occasionally wafts through the air. I recommend it if you’re seeking an alternative to Invictus, but do test it yourself.
Icon Racing is a fresh, aromatic, and musky fragrance. Its opening shows a slightly sweet aroma like chewing gum, hence the comparison with Invictus, but it soon evolves into a more floral and aromatic phase that brings memories of its mother, but in a fresher and less formal style, probably due to the good dose of musk. It’s versatile, used almost in any season, featuring woods, fresh notes, and florals. Although I note it’s less mature than the original Icon, it doesn’t seem too youthful either; it’s good for someone who already has their first formal job. In terms of longevity, it wasn’t bad; it lasted at least an 8-hour day. Although it doesn’t project too much, at times the breeze of its scent reaches you. I recommend it for those seeking an alternative to Invictus and liking that style; otherwise, try it and make your own assessment.
It’s a perfume that, although very old, is delicious; I can’t stop smelling myself when I wear it. Highly recommended; you won’t regret buying it.
I don’t know the perfume, but how is it possible it reminds me of Invictus and Bentley Intense? It’s impossible to guide oneself like that.
I’ll be super honest; the only reason I bought it was the photo of the beautiful Sophie appearing in Jeremy Fragrance videos, and many were surprised when he gave it a 10/10. But once I put it on my skin, I thought, ‘this smells like any cheap cologne from any supermarket’. When it dries down, it becomes softer and I must admit the scent is super masculine, but I repeat, it smells like many other colognes without distinct notes. Still, I don’t understand how women like such simple aromas, but anyway, I give it a 6.8/10.
Good afternoon, it arrived today and honestly, I feel I’ve thrown my money away. It does smell nice, but it projects nothing and doesn’t last even two hours. I don’t know if it’s my skin, but I’ve been left with a huge disappointment. I expected better performance, although I applied several sprays because I was careful at first. Seeing it wasn’t strong, I applied more, but it was a total waste. It makes me angry that this happens with some perfumes; they seem not to cling to the skin, falling off or evaporating. A pity.
I’ve had this for years and recently recovered it. It’s a pleasant perfume; you can detect the citrus notes, ideal for summer and spring. My criticism lies with the fixative and longevity; I expected more. It doesn’t last long, and there are better options on the market that deliver on their promises. 6/10.
It’s a fresh, pleasant aromatic fougère. The citrus opening is moderate; what stands out most is the lavender and musk with a soft spicy touch. The woods are aromatic and agreeable. I wear it at the office and it has drawn attention. Recommended if you’re looking for a modernised commercial fougère that actually lasts.

I’ve just received it and the first impression is direct: it smells like aspirin. Let’s see how it develops.
I fell for the influencer hype; the last time I looked for this in Chile, finding it was an absolute nightmare. I bought it again six months ago with sky-high expectations. The result? It smells like no-man’s-land, a hybrid between Legend Spirit and Versace Eros, all wrapped up in something that reeks of plastic. Plus, the longevity is ridiculous; even with generous application, it doesn’t last four sprays.
