Smells exactly like L’Imperatrice, it’s a very good dupe. The truth is, you only notice the differences when comparing them side by side: the opening smells slightly more alcoholic than the original and develops a bit more sharply, but it is more intense and has better longevity.
Another blind buy at a laughable price and another huge hit. Compared side by side with L’Imperatrice, it’s an 8/10 match. It opens with an eager bite of watermelon and cold, ripe strawberries. There’s a hint of alcohol at first, but the unpleasant sensation vanishes within minutes. As the fruit rises to the nose, pink roses burst forth, followed by overflowing peonies. It projects to a metre for hours. The watermelon continues to flood with sweetness and freshness, including that green touch of ‘dentera’ that magnolias give. It’s sweet without being cloying. On the skin, there’s a creamy note of wood, sandalwood, a touch of incense and red wine. They don’t list it, but my nose picks it up. It stays with me for about four hours in a 30cm cloud, then softens, stops projecting so much but becomes a delightful intimate scent that lingers into the night. Better longevity and projection than the original… another scandalous dupe that beats the original… MA has done it again!
Arrived just now and it’s brilliant, absolutely delicious 😍. Based on the notes and dry-down, I think it’s the dupe for the limited edition L’Imperatrice, the pink one. I tested it alongside the other (the yellowish one) and it smells much closer to the pink version. Either way, it smells fantastic and only gets better with time… very happy with this little perfume 🥰.
