  • Thanks to the generosity of my friend Jorge Elizalde, I was able to try the Jardin d’Amalfi from the Royal Exclusives line. It has a saturated citrus opening that creates a single-note effect, with neroli flower as the aromatic highlight, which is sweet. To be honest, it’s a perfume like many others; it’s no different from those whose purpose is to project the pleasant and stimulating aroma of neroli (distilled from various orange flowers, especially the bitter ones). In a word, it’s a very common scent whose life (6hrs+) follows an intense citrus opening before settling into a wood accented with sweet rose and timid vetiver and white musk edges. The scent is fine, undoubtedly, but nothing new under the sun to be frank. If we add its exorbitant price, resulting from the superb quality of the ingredients, I would sincerely say it’s a completely obvious fragrance. By nature, it’s perfect for sunny days or outdoor commitments; I don’t see it as particularly masculine and perhaps for that reason, it holds no attraction for me (though the opening is very pleasant), but on a lady in a white dress, it would certainly suit better. In short, for a mortal like me, it’s not worth the thousands one has to pay for it.

  • This is a wonder. Indeed, with this scent, one feels in a garden, but a very exclusive one. Natural elegance. Perfect balance between natural notes, elegance, and quality 💎.

  • For this heat, I’m craving citrus, and seeing it on the counter tempted me. The bottle is pretty, with that golden relief reminiscent of the Imperiale; they share a design, the idea of royalty and being citrus-based. But this is a sweet citrus; I suspect the tangerine and cinnamon blend hides an undeclared mandarin. It’s a nice perfume, but nothing that sets it apart from the common for citrus lovers. Plus, the price is madness. I wonder if the ingredients are grown in an organic Italian castle garden or harvested by hand at dawn. Anyway, I liked it, but not enough to take it home.
