Descripción

Jasmine by Oscar de la Renta is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2016, this composition features neroli, bergamot and Sicilian lemon in its top notes. The heart unfolds with Spanish jasmine, orange blossom, neroli and ylang-ylang, while the base reveals a warm blend of beeswax, white woods, balsam of Peru and tonka bean. The creation is signed by the perfumer who originally designed it.

It doesn’t smell cheap; it’s realistic, feminine, and classy. A hymn to jasmine with a very well-chosen floral bouquet that makes it shine, with a touch of honey that builds in intensity without being heavy, staying light and fresh. The downside is the skin longevity (subjective, it’s an EDT) around 3 hours; on clothes it lasts longer, and the trail is soft. Longevity improves if you let it breathe (spray and let it rest for a while); I confess that on the first use it didn’t last an hour, which is why I recommend letting it breathe.

  • Forget about cheap perfume; it smells like something real, feminine, and classy 😎. It’s a hymn to jasmine with a floral bouquet so well chosen that it makes you look great. It has a touch of honey 🐝 that builds in intensity without being heavy, staying light and fresh. The only drawback is the skin longevity (subjective, it’s an EDT) around 3 hours (longer on clothes) and a soft trail. Longevity improves if you let it breathe (spray and let it rest for a while); I confess that on the first use it lasted less than an hour, which is why I recommend letting it breathe…

  • I bought it to start my perfume journey, haha. It’s a white floral with citrus and woods, and considering the price, the scent is superior, much more elegant than expected. Let’s say it shares the same concept as Pure Poison: jasmine, white flowers, citrus, and wood. Both are delightful, but Poison is more polished; this one asks for nothing less, it’s more youthful and wearable. The only downside is the poor longevity, as the trail lasts as long as the perfume itself. Given the price, it’s worth reapplying. Between the two, I’d choose Poison if you seek something more elegant and long-lasting, but for price and versatility, this one is worth it too.

  • I bought it with great excitement for the jasmine scent and its affordable price. I had high hopes because I use ‘So De La Renta’, another classic that is also cheap but offers incredible scent and longevity; however, this purchase has been a total failure. The scent is fresh and cheerful, but it definitely lacks both trail and longevity. If I used a cologne from any unknown brand, it would have better staying power than this Eau de Toilette. I understand that cheap perfumes may lose quality, but here it seems the creation itself is pointless. It lasts nothing, absolutely nothing, and that, regardless of the price, is unforgivable. If you want to freshen up after a shower, it’s perfect, though you’ll have to bathe in it. For a little more money, you can get a So De La Renta which is wonderful (though it smells different). It’s not worth analysing its components. A fraud!

  • I picked it up to start my perfume adventure, haha. It’s a white floral with citrus and woods, and for the price, it smells like another story, much more elegant than one might expect. It has the same idea as Pure Poison: jasmine, white flowers, citrus, and wood. Both are a delight, but Poison is more polished; this one is more youthful and easy to wear. The only downside is that it doesn’t last long; the trail lasts half the time of the perfume itself. For the price, it’s worth reapplying. Between the two, I’d go for Poison if you’re looking for something more elegant and long-lasting, but for price and versatility, this one is also worth it.

A classic citrus-woody scent with bitter notes, slightly serious. On my skin, the neroli—the orange blossom—and Sicilian lemon really stand out. Due to my olfactory memory, it reminds me of the colognes my grandmother used to wear years ago… it’s not my style. I had high hopes because I’m passionate about jasmine, but the mix with so much citrus and neroli repels me. It has a trail and medium longevity. To be honest, I bought it to collect the bottles from this line with their flower-shaped caps. My favourite remains one not listed on Fragrantica and I still don’t know why (Lavender): it’s a very creamy, sweet, and addictive lavender; I recommend it highly. Let’s see if I get luckier with the next one.

  • Opens with citrus and neroli, then within 15 minutes, jasmine blooms with a mentholated touch; as it dries, that honeyed beeswax sweetness emerges. Compared to Calvin Klein’s Beauty, which is a pure, deeper jasmine with a spiced base, here the white woods are barely noticeable. It’s a gently sweet base that keeps it fresh, making it ideal for daytime and heat—something the other simply isn’t. It’s not youthful; I’d say it suits perfectly from age 25 onwards. I understand it might remind you of something vintage, but it feels as though a modern touch has been applied, so it isn’t truly vintage. Lasts 5-6 hours with a generous application, moderate projection, totally feminine and delicate. Works in any season but shines on sunny days. A lovely perfume 🥰
