Descripción
La Belle et l'Ocelot by Salvador Dali is a chypre floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2014, this composition was created by perfumer Henri Bergia. In its opening, absinthe and mandarin give way to a heart where osmanthus, tonka bean, rose and jasmine interweave their scents. The base rests on benzoin, incense and patchouli.

The bottle is a work of art, and the liquid, which I haven’t been able to smell, must be exquisite. It reminds me of Cartier’s Panthère.
It’s a tamed cat; its claws have been trimmed, and it has learned to live with us. Belle et l’Ocelot is very similar to Chanel Coco, but it’s gentler, kinder, and more wearable. It starts with vibrant citrus notes all over the tree, right down to the branches and leaves; then comes a striking tonka bean with jasmine and a shy but present rose, all supported by benzoin, patchouli, and a touch of incense. It’s beautiful, elegant, and comfortable, but there’s a catch: on my skin, it lasts barely four hours with poor projection, and by the end, it barely clings to the skin. Still, I recommend it; it’s graceful and sensual, even if it has lost its wild instinct.
Oh, what a huge loss for the Dali house; I hope they return. I was left wanting to restock fragrances, and now they are my treasures. This perfume is one of them: animalic and ambered like old Hollywood. A classic for lionesses, with a just-right sweetness that doesn’t overdo it, a sophisticated amber that smells of wood mixed with a very elegant floral tonka bean.
On my skin, it smells incredibly like Lalique L’amour, despite the ingredients being completely different. I like it very much, and I’m also crazy about the bottle.
It suits me well. It doesn’t smell like COCO and has nothing feline about it, except for the name and the bottle, but it fits me perfectly. It’s ideal for everyday wear this winter: nothing invasive, intense, or overly sweet; simply pleasant and uncomplicated.
