Descripción
Liquo, by Angela Ciampagna, is an aromatic fragrance from the olfactive family, created for men and women. Launched in 2015, this composition was designed by perfumer Angela Ciampagna herself. Its olfactive structure unfolds with top notes of lavender, violet, and lemon, giving way to a heart of licorice, anise, hay, and coumarin. The final trail is defined by vetiver, tonka bean, and incense.

From the start, you can detect the anise and licorice with a salty twist I can’t quite place; it’s not that typical sea salt, but rather as if salt were sprinkled over the anise and licorice. I barely notice the lemon; there’s nothing citrusy. In the heart, the duo still dominates, the salt fades, and it becomes creamier due to the tonka bean, though not overpoweringly, more as a base. I don’t pick up much on the incense, but it must have its function. The dry down is similar to the heart but much softer and skin-scented. It evokes coldness and sometimes loneliness, the latter being personal. It’s not citrusy but fresh and airy, nothing heavy. It can be worn in any weather, even heat. Performance is good; it’s not powerful but lasts quite a while. Perhaps its strength lies there, the longevity (and the great scent). Although it’s marketed as unisex, it sounds more masculine to me thanks to the anise. I love it immensely; anise perfumes usually don’t attract me, but this has enchanted me. The star notes are anise and licorice from start to finish, but I think that salty opening-to-heart phase is what hooked me. It’s rare because I’m not a fan of salty or aquatic perfumes either. It’s inexplicable but seems exceptional to me. Its surprising performance (said to be weak) is a plus. Although the price is a drawback, I do recommend it to any fan of its main notes.
From the very first moment, the anise and licorice are noticeable, alongside a salty touch I can’t pinpoint. It’s not that typical sea salt often found, but rather a bit of salt sprinkled over the anise and licorice. I barely sense the lemon; I detect nothing citrusy. In the heart, the anise-licorice duo still dominates, the salt diminishes, and it becomes slightly creamier, I believe due to the tonka bean, but without going overboard, more as a base. The incense isn’t very prominent to me either, but it surely does its job. The dry down is like the heart but much softer and clings closer to the skin. It evokes cold sensations and sometimes loneliness, the latter being my interpretation. It’s not citrusy but fresh and airy, nothing heavy. I think it can be worn in any climate, even in heat. Performance on my skin is good. It doesn’t stand out for potency, but it lingers for quite some time. Perhaps its strength lies there, the longevity (and the great scent). Although labelled unisex, it smells more masculine to me, as I associate anise with the male gender in perfumes. Personally, I adore it. Anise perfumes usually don’t appeal to me, but this has enchanted me. Although the price is a drawback, I do recommend it to any fan of its main notes.
I love how licorice and anise dominate the fragrance; it smells almost edible, like a gourmand scent, but with a smoky and mysterious touch. It suits a man perfectly, ideal for cool nights or winter.
