  The opening is brutal: green, wet, aquatic, fresh with a tropical touch. It keeps its promise: rain in an Asian tropical forest, very evocative and pleasant. My only gripe is that it lacks a bit of pepper, and after a few minutes it loses its personality as it smells almost identical to D&G’s L’Imperatrice (from nine years ago). It’s an aquatic floral scent with an acidic-fruit note. Although I adore it, I would have preferred it to evolve differently, without the rhubarb appearing. In the end, the fruity aspects fade and it becomes more musky. If you like L’Imperatrice, seek longevity and don’t mind paying five times more, Pluie sur Ha Long will last 8-9 hours and project powerfully. I might finish my decant from Pafory this summer as it’s perfect for the season, but I won’t buy it again to try new things. The opening transports me elsewhere, but the dry-down wasn’t what I expected. I love the Ella K brand and the story behind this perfume, but olfactorily it hasn’t left me breathless. Scent 7/10, Longevity 8.5/10, Sillage 8/10, Value for money 4.5/10, Versatility 6.5/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy again? No.

  The name says it all: aquatic, floral and sweet without being gourmand, super feminine and clean. It starts with a rush of water that floods everything, then becomes slightly powdery, and after fifteen minutes the wood notes emerge. Imagine a tropical storm over flowers, followed by silence with the scent of rain on leaves and trees. I love it; it’s perfect for summer and daytime, fabulous. Just a note: if you’re not a fan of pear, put it aside.
