My first blind buy failure: I don’t know if the bottle was faulty or what, but on my skin it smelled like amber vomit mixed with sour citrus. My brother liked it, so I gave it to him. What a pity, I had high expectations (I don’t know where they saw a resemblance to Terre d’Hermes, this is light years away from resembling it).
My first blind buy was a disaster… I don’t know if the bottle was defective or what, but on a thousand different skins it smelled exactly like vomit of aged amber mixed with an overripe citrus. My brother liked it, so I ended up giving it to him. What a pity, I had high expectations (I don’t know where they saw a resemblance to Terre d’Hermes, this is light years away from resembling it).
In Paraguay we have a harsh and changeable climate; it went from tropical to having very cold winters and very hot summers. That’s why I still classify fragrances by season, and I give Sunrise Spring and Summer in all their glory. The fresh opening gives me the sensation of a warm path towards purity and clean sensations. The heart invites you to relax and project that calm we need on hot days to know we smell good despite the sweat. The base dries with a modern vetiver and a damp mossy scent, giving that freshness that accompanies you at the end of the day. I recommend it to those who want to stand out without overwhelming, especially for crowded workplaces where closeness allows enjoyment without being annoying. Perfect for days of intense heat and evenings that turn into hot nights. Sunrise stands out for being inspired by Cadaqués, where the sea and sun join forces to make you an accomplice in that event.
I haven’t written reviews in a while, but as I finished my Dalí Cadaques Sunrise, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. The projection is powerful and strong, yet not suffocating, for an hour, then it stabilises: it keeps projecting, just not with the initial intensity. The star notes are the spices, especially cardamom and nutmeg, which combined with the citrus create a very pleasant aroma. On skin, it lasts about five hours before fading to skin scent. The heart and base, with cedar, amber and moss, ultimately turn it into a fougère. Ideal for autumn and spring; it’s an all-rounder for any occasion, in my view suitable for both morning and evening. At night, although it can be worn as everyone chooses, it’s not ideal if we’re used to beastly perfumes. It goes well for both formal and informal events and I’ve received many compliments. The bottle design is another success: the iridescent glass gives a beautiful effect with little or much light, like a sunset (a nod to the name, haha). In summary, a beautiful fragrance for formal or informal use, preferably during the day in autumn and spring, where you’ll surely receive compliments. Best wishes!
