I just tried it at an L’Occitane store and it’s much more citrusy than traditional verbena. It starts with an explosion of super fresh, starchy notes, quickly moves to a verbena with a powdery touch, and then fades away. The flaw: longevity. It lasts less than an hour on my skin.
Overall, the verbena is a classic I simply adore, but if you want it to last, use it with soap and moisturiser; the Occitane body waters evaporate within minutes, which is unfair given the price. I prefer organic and healthy products, yet here the value for money makes no sense. I’m now trying the Herbarium toner with verbena and ginkgo; it costs three times less and lasts just as long. The scent isn’t identical, but it’s not bad at all.
