  Pssssssssssssss That is the summary of this fragrance for me. It is catalogued as unisex, but it is no more masculine than Cherry Blossom or Pivoine from the same house. To my nose, it smells totally feminine, although a man could wear it, because I believe the distinction between feminine and masculine is relative and very subjective. It has nothing novel about it; it is a blend of Pivoine Flora and L’eau Terre de Lumière from the same house. It is a pleasant smell, but nothing more. Considering it costs €90 for 90ml and has very, very low trail and projection, as is usual with this French house, it seems a scandal. It smells very sweet, nothing like a walk in the countryside or grass. It smells a bit like a famous person’s cologne. For that price, there are much better options.

  Disappointment. That sums it all up. I was looking for something far from the sweet pastry scent that perfumery dictates today. Its name ‘Herbae’ sounded almost botanical, herbal, woodsy, like a summer day in the countryside. When I asked to try it, the sales assistant handed me the cream and then the perfume (a sign of its poor longevity?). The opening is very herbal, almost bitter, like cutting grass in the fields, then the blackberry appears adding a sweet touch. The problem is that a very synthetic honey creeps in, ruining the herbal effect. There are several drawbacks: the honey, it lacks wood to give depth and harmony, the trail is very poor, and the longevity is worse for the price. What a pity; previously this house had beautiful things, I will cherish the Roses and Queens like gold; their new perfumes last like a cologne that costs 10% of these. Time to look and smell elsewhere.

  By the pond, I was captivated by the illusion of listening to the language of plants; I feel metallic in the botanical garden. It smells of plants, grass, nettle… straight to the point. It’s intense with good fixative qualities and longevity. Although not at first, the dry down reminds me a bit of Nina Ricci’s Bella. Anyway, perhaps I would choose it as a cream from l’Occitane or for a good bubble bath, as if I were in a green paradise.

  A sample arrived and confirmed what others say: for the price, the longevity is non-existent. It starts bitter and green, then turns sweet and soft, which is what I like most, but after three hours it smells like talcum powder, almost like a cologne. The aroma itself isn’t unpleasant; it’s rich and fresh, nothing heavy. I was surprised it’s unisex; I imagined it as feminine, but as the saying goes, to each their own.

  The scent suffocates me, especially that bergamot which goes wild on its own. I absolutely adore the cream as it smells more floral, but the perfume clings like a slab and projects far too much. I wouldn’t buy it again.
