  • When did I think it would be a discounted, youthful, and sweeter version of Flowerbomb? More akin to Katy Perry’s Killer Queen? This is a tremendously similar alternative to the original, which I got rid of some time ago. For those who love the DNA of Flowerbomb… go for it! You’ll be in for a delightful surprise.

  • Victoria Flower by Maison Alhambra isn’t particularly hyped or well-known here, yet it fulfils its role as a clone of Viktor&Rolf’s Flowerbomb in a wonderfully pleasing way. It’s an accessible and charming alternative for those who love the essence of the original. As for performance, it offers an acceptable longevity of 6 to 8 hours on the skin, with a projection of around 2 hours, which is quite good. Ideal for anyone seeking a floral that makes an impact without being overwhelming.

I haven’t tried the OG, but I can certainly talk about this one. If it’s inspired by Flower Bomb, I detect no ‘flower’ at all, only ‘bomb’. It smells herbal and plant-like; nothing unpleasant, yet distinct, heavy and intense. The tea and bergamot dominate, leaving the rest unnoticed. I thought it would be a floral success, but it doesn’t quite convince me. It’s not bad, but it lacks sweetness and isn’t particularly youthful; I see it for mature women with character. It’s not for everyone, so don’t buy blindly. What I do applaud is its performance; it’s brutal, lasting around eight hours on skin and longer on clothes. With three or four sprays, it fills a small room and is noticeable from two metres away. I’m still unsure of its exact use, but I think it suits formal events, day and night, in spring and summer. I don’t see it for daily wear, but everyone knows what works for them. By the way, I also own the Victoria Flower Rosa Lilium flanker and preferred that; it’s for adult women, has sweetness and good longevity, though its trail isn’t as intense as this one.
