I saw the ad on Fragrantica and headed to the perfumerie the very next day. I flicked through the paper, and since I was already wearing another scent, I tested it on a tote bag – those ubiquitous promotional fabric bags you find everywhere nowadays. The moment I sniffed it, I was hooked: it’s sweet, yet neither overly bonbon-like nor caramelised. It’s not overpowering or suffocating. The opening is fresh, with violets peeking through – slightly powdery, yes. Then come the vanilla and that sandalwood, but nothing ordinary or heavy. It’s as if the violets and sandalwood are holding hands, taking a leisurely stroll through the park on a rainy afternoon… It’s a constant sweetness, but soft and gentle. I reiterate: nothing ‘bonbon’ or sugary. A week after testing it in the shop, I could still detect it lingering in parts of the living room and couldn’t fathom why. Then it hit me – I’d been smelling my fabric bag sitting on a chair. Oh my goodness! A whole week! So I rushed out to buy it, and now it’s mine, all mine. Ahh! And for those wondering: yes, there’s a hint reminiscent of This Is Her (after all, they share notes and family is family), but the truth is they’re quite different, and in my opinion, it’s well worth owning both 🙂
It has been a very pleasant discovery for me. I detect the creamy sandalwood from the start, with the counterpoint of the ginger slightly perceptible in its opening. It results in a welcoming, very wearable, and at the same time different aroma from what I’ve tried so far. I perceive it very differently from ‘This Is Her’; in fact, it’s a fragrance I don’t like, however ‘This Is Love’ is a favourite of mine. I think it’s a fragrance that has come to stay.
For me, this has been a very pleasant discovery. I detect creamy sandalwood from the start, with the slightly perceptible counterpoint of ginger in its opening. It’s a comforting, wearable scent that is also different from anything I’ve tried before. I perceive it as very different from ‘This Is Her’ – in fact, that’s a perfume I don’t like, whereas ‘This Is Love’ is my favourite. I think this is a fragrance here to stay.
This fragrance is absolutely delicious to me. People fervently compare it to This Is Her, but I’m very sorry to disagree. This one is much less creamy, lacks that lactonic point, and also doesn’t have the chestnut touch of the other (which bothers me a bit), and that’s why This Is Love has won me over. The first time I tried it, it was quick and didn’t catch my attention because I had other things on my mind (a testing day in the store, after its launch). However, I returned and gave it another chance ‘all alone’ and it was total love. What a delicious thing—repeat, for my nose at least. It’s one of those fragrances I enjoy from start to finish. On my skin, it’s slightly talc-y, but much warmer and balsamic. The sandalwood doesn’t stand out much on my skin; rather, I think I could appreciate it if it weren’t covered by a sweet, vanilla-hued halo of violet caramel (if such a thing exists), which amazes me. A spicy energy jump with ginger peeks through, but it doesn’t seem to become predominant. This combination is very beautiful; I think it could share that succulent and warm vanilla note with This Is Her. Only in that aspect do they seem similar to me. I love it and am enjoying it immensely these cold autumn days. Note 10 💫
It’s like dipping your nose into a Nesquik pot and adding sandalwood, vanilla, a hint of spicy ginger, and a very subtle touch of violet caramel… but so light. Fantastic, different, cheerful with body and lasting power.
It’s like sticking your nose in a Nesquik pot and adding sandalwood, vanilla, a tiny spicy touch of ginger, and I’d say a hint of violet caramel… but very subtle. Fantastic! Different! Cheerful with body and long-lasting.
I absolutely love it! It reminds me more of Jus’t Rock (which has always been one of my favourites, although it didn’t last long on my skin). Let’s see if this lasts longer; I just tried it on my skin and I’ve been smelling my wrist and smiling for an hour. It has a certain ‘air’ reminiscent of Muguetlain Intense; perhaps it’s that lavender… In short, highly recommended.

I completely agree with Kari, I feel the same. I can’t handle This Is Her or This Is Us, however this one is delicious. It’s not as extremely sweet as its siblings; you can appreciate the essence of them, but the ginger makes it different, more piercing. I’m enjoying it a lot these summer days, but I think I’ll enjoy it even more in autumn. I even sense a note of raspberry or some acidic fruit, though it’s not listed. It’s a compliment generator and leaves a good trail without being overwhelming.
I completely agree with Kari, I feel the same. I just can’t get on with This Is Her or This Is Us, but this one is delicious. It’s not as overwhelmingly sweet as its siblings; you can still detect their essence, but the ginger makes it different, sharper. I’m enjoying it a lot these summer days, though I think I’ll wear it even more in autumn. I even catch a hint of raspberry or some kind of acidic fruit, even though it’s not listed in the description. It’s a compliment generator and leaves quite a trail without being overpowering.
Unlike some reviews, on my skin this doesn’t read like This Is Her; it’s lighter and less heavy. The violet really shines through, and I adore the trail it leaves. It’s now my go-to fragrance and never goes unnoticed. With the right number of sprays, it suits any occasion and is incredibly versatile. I don’t think it’s for everyone, but for those who love it, it will be forever.
Unlike some reviews, on my skin it doesn’t resemble This Is Her; it’s lighter and less heavy. The violet stands out, which I adore, along with the trail it leaves. It has become my go-to fragrance and never goes unnoticed. A few sprays are enough for any occasion, making it very versatile. I’ve had it for a week and worn it several days. I bought it as a tester alongside Armani SI. I’ve really enjoyed it; I think it’s a very pleasant scent with that spicy ginger touch and smells delicious. I believe most people would like it if they enjoy that initial spicy kick. I won’t compare it to This Is Her as they are nothing alike, at least in my opinion, except for the vanilla… However, the performance and projection are very poor for me. I applied it at 6 am, and by 9:10 am, there’s hardly anything left or almost nothing. Both have low projection, but This Is Her lasts much longer. That said, on clothes it lasts for days and days.
I’ve loved it too much but I can’t manage to get it from Mexico. Any good Samaritans willing to send it to me? Thanks.
I started with This Is Her and it gave me headaches, so I sold the bottle on the same day. Then I decided to try This Is Love and it’s nothing like it! The chestnut note from the other one is completely absent here. It lasts for days on clothes, even after washing. I have the 100ml bottle and keep it like gold in a velvet pouch because it’s discontinued. I absolutely adore it. Sometimes I layer it because of how intense it is and how long it lasts. 😁
Absolutely love it. It’s a very talc-y, sweet violet softened by vanilla, with a noticeable sandalwood. I’ve had it for a year and it has improved, but the longevity still falls short of four hours and the sillage is very soft. That’s why I don’t intend to hunt for it once my bottle is empty. I tried the 2024 This Is Her and that one really impressed me with its intensity and longevity. This one is discontinued but can still be found on some websites.
