Descripción
Yacht Club by Scalpers is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men. Launched in 2023, this composition was created by Emilie Coppermann and Pierre-Constantin Guéros. The top notes unfold with cardamom, pink pepper and lemon, with a touch of acidic lime; the heart reveals a combination of coconut, vetiver and sandalwood; while the base notes settle on Atlas cedar, amber and Indonesian patchouli leaves.

A fragrance that should not be dismissed. If we admit that Adolfo Domínguez perfumes are unbeatable in quality-price ratio, after trying the latest Scalpers launch it is clear it is a long-term option to keep in mind. The two previous masculine scents became top sellers in major Spanish chains, but there was a need for a definitive creation to confirm the brand is serious, beyond trends and marketing. With Yacht Club, the Spanish brand has cemented its entry into designer commercial leagues; their posters are now in shop windows, carving a path in a complex market with competitive pricing and acceptable quality standards. While Scalpers Club and Boxing Club leaned towards musky woods and violets for an oxygenated and comforting discourse, similar to Dsquared2, here they have taken a step towards a green opening, fresher and spicier. It arrives with a ‘sport’ ambition thanks to salty accords, although any evocation of aquatic classics like Polo Blue is dominated by more vigorous and youthful notes such as coconut wood and patchouli. I particularly prefer it to others in the same range and olfactive family due to the treatment of herbs and briny notes, making it more timeless and aseptic. It shows intent. If you notice something different in the Scalpers proposal, you only need to look at the pyramid: cardamom, vetiver, amber, and cedar. That’s almost everything.
Barely acquired. After smelling it, a perfume from my collection came to mind, no more or less than the undervalued Pride Pour Homme EDP by Rue Broca (2015). Perhaps Pride has a bit more sweetness, still I note a 90% similarity between both. Notable amber and patchouli, I like this mixture because it gives me a laundry softener sensation. The coconut is noticeable but not the protagonist and becomes less noticeable during its performance. Projection for me is medium, perhaps it improves in summer. Longevity of about 6 hours on my skin. Medium price. Another fragrance it can be compared to is Calvin Klein Eternity Aromatic Essence for men (2024), but with less coconut and more amber and patchouli.
I’ve worn it for two days and I love it. Excellent value for money. On my skin it lasts seven hours, on clothes until the next day, with moderate sillage. My wife smelled it on me at three hours in the car, despite only spraying it ten times. At €31 for a bottle worth €75, it’s worth it, and if I still enjoy it, the €125 version at €42 is a bargain.
A fragrance certainly not to be underestimated. I’ve worn it for two days and I must say I like it quite a bit; I think the quality/price ratio makes it a good option. It lasts quite a while, at least on my skin which has lasted 7 hours, and it was noticeable on clothes the next day; it has a medium trail. My wife told me at 3 hours when we were in the car that she was smelling it; if it’s true that I gave it 10 sprays. I think for the price, which cost me 31€ for the 75ml bottle, it’s very worth it, and if I continue to like it over time, the 125ml bottle at 42€ seems like a very good option.
A fresh/spiced combination of lemon, cardamom, and vetiver in its opening… giving way to a creamy, aromatic, and zero-cloying coconut, accompanied by touches of patchouli… over a woody base, mainly cedar. It’s an ideal aroma for this spring/summer, with that fresh, woody, refined coconut, totally away from creations like Le Beau and closer to Issey Miyake Fusion Extrême, another perfume I love. I liked it so much I bought it for my partner. Longevity on skin around 6-7 hours with moderate projection and trail. Quality/price ratio in my opinion very interesting, recommend trying it.
Very good scent, where clean coconut predominates, not so much sweet. The pity is that it’s very soft; I doubt it will project much or last long. If the fragrance were more concentrated, it would be a magnificent option. Nevertheless, you can always put on 20 sprays for the price it has.
I managed to try a sample and was surprised by the good longevity, lasting well until 5-6 hours. But the scent isn’t for me. It has a sweet-artificial point seen in fragrances from brands like Jean Paul Gaultier that doesn’t fully convince me. The citrus notes disappear quickly, so if you are into citrus fragrances, take note that this is something different. Another issue is that I don’t understand the name; it doesn’t evoke being on a yacht at sea, it lacks a watery touch for that… I would also say I don’t recommend it for a blind buy. If I have to give it a rating, I’d give it a 5. Approved without more.
TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. I have the other two from the collection and I can say that this Yacht Club is by far the worst. ‘Boxing Club’ seems the most rounded and ‘Club’ smells good but lacks body. The opening of this Yacht Club is alcoholic and cheap. Fatal. It’s a citrus, sweet, and woody scent that I feel I’ve smelled 800 times. Almost 5 hours on skin and then it’s gone. Light projection. What bothers me most isn’t that it’s a cliché scent (I won’t demand innovation from Scalpers), but that it smells like ‘cheap’ cologne in the bad sense of the word. And mind you, I have very cheap colognes that fulfil their function perfectly with a much better quality/price ratio. For example, Mandarina Duck Vida Loca (15 euros and a nice bottle). It would be wonderful if Saphir or Mercadona presented this liquid for 8-10 euros, but for Scalpers to do it for 30-40 seems undignified and a rip-off. If this is the way the brand intends to carve out a niche in the fierce fight for designer perfumes on shelves… you’re doomed. Total blunder from Scalpers.
TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. I own the other two from the collection, and this Yacht Club is undoubtedly the worst. Boxing Club is the most rounded, Club smells good but lacks body. The opening of this Yacht Club is alcoholic and cheap. Fatal. It smells citrusy, sweet, and woody, giving the impression of having heard it 800 times. Almost five hours on skin and then it’s gone. Projection is light. What annoys me most isn’t that it’s a clichéd scent (I don’t expect innovation from Scalpers), but that it smells like cheap cologne in the worst way. I have budget colognes that perform better and offer better value, such as Mandarina Duck Vida Loca at €15 or those from Saphir/Mercadona at €8-10. For Scalpers to produce this at €30-40 is undignified and a rip-off. If this is how they intend to enter the designer perfume war, they’re ready. A complete disaster from Scalpers.
I bought it blind and I love it. If you mix an ADG Profondo with a Le Beau, you get this perfume (on my nose). Does it have synthetic notes? Yes, but it remains a spectacular fragrance. It arrived today, I couldn’t test it properly, but I wore it at 4pm and at 9pm it was still strong close to the skin. For me, that’s what matters, because I buy them for myself; it’s very noticeable on clothes. I’ll update tomorrow or the next day. Regards.
I bought it blind and I love it. On my nose, it’s like mixing an ADG Profondo with a Le Beau. Does it have synthetic notes? Yes, but it remains a spectacular fragrance. It arrived today and I haven’t tested it properly yet, but I put it on at 16 and at 21 it still smells strong on the skin. That’s what matters, as I buy perfumes for myself and they show up much more on clothes. I will update tomorrow or the next day. Cheers!
Scalpers’ top pick, my absolute favourite. Once it dries down, that coconut scent is almost identical to LeBeau.
Excellent perfume; it’s my favourite from Scalpers. When it dries down, you get that coconut scent very similar to Le Beau.
I’m considering buying it after trying it, but it’s quite overpowering. It suits outdoorsy occasions better without too much projection. The opening is very strong on wood and patchouli, with zero marine notes. It’s the opposite of Scalpers Club, nothing sweet and far more serious. Update a few months later: after spraying it repeatedly, it smells worse and worse each time. To be honest, if you don’t wear perfume or it’s your only one, it might work, but if you’ve smelled exquisite scents, it smells like cheap cologne. A cheap knock-off of Le Beau by JPG, as if they’d poured Le Beau onto a dusty bus seat.
What a fantastic fragrance! You can tell it follows the trail of JPG Le Beau, but with a much more citrusy opening and a drier, woodier dry-down. Ideally suited for spring or autumn; in summer it can become a bit cloying, and in winter it lacks projection. Price/Quality: 10, Longevity: 9, Projection: 8, Sillage: 9. A round of applause for Scalpers, very good work!
What a sweet little perfume! It sits on the line of JPG Le Beau, but here the opening is much more citrusy and dries down to a woodier scent. I see it as ideal for spring or autumn; in summer it can be a bit cloying and in winter it lacks projection. Price/quality: 10, longevity: 9, projection: 8, trail: 9. Applause to Scalpers, good work.
I was thinking about buying it, tried it, and found it quite overpowering; I think it suits outdoors better where it doesn’t project so strongly. It smells very intense at first, of wood and patchouli, with no trace of marine notes. It’s the opposite of ‘Scalpers Club’, nothing sweet and more serious. Update after many months: after spraying it many times, it smells worse each time. To be honest, for someone who doesn’t wear perfume or wants it as their only scent, it could be an option, but if you’ve smelled many exquisite perfumes, this smells like cheap cologne. A cheap copy of JPG Le Beau, it seems like they poured Le Beau onto a dusty bus seat.
