It smells spectacular, but it lasts a breath and projects nothing. I wouldn’t buy it again.

  • The scent is delicious, truly exquisite; it’s a pity that this fragrance with such a tremendous smell has become obsolete due to its poor longevity. Even worse is its projection: if you don’t spray at least ten times, you won’t project anything at all. If you have money and can use a lot of this perfume by applying many sprays, it’s perfect; if not, I recommend the Le Beau EDP, which remains fresh with the same DNA but is much more long-lasting and has a better trail. I’d love for it to have better performance, because if it did, without a doubt it would be a 10 for summer and hot days. Unfortunately, it’s not, but anyway, a very rich fragrance. In my opinion, based on what I mentioned, it doesn’t go beyond an 8 at most, but I do recommend it, just bearing those details in mind.

Jean Paul Gaultier Le Beau EDT was, unknowingly, the start of everything. I was given it in an era when I wore perfumes without thinking, out of habit. But with this one, it was different: one day someone gave me an unexpected compliment, and that moment marked a before and after. I started to become more interested in this world, to smell with attention, to search, to compare. The perfume is tropical, sweet, and easy to enjoy: creamy coconut, warm vanilla, a fruity freshness on opening that catches you. It has that luminous, carefree, almost addictive vibe. Although over time it has been relegated among so many other fragrances I discovered, I keep a great affection for it. It’s no longer one of my favourites, but it will always have a special place in my collection. Not for what it is today, but for what it meant then. Longevity: 7-8 hours, Projection: Moderate, Ideal Season: Spring and Summer, Personal Rating: 8/10 – A perfume that marked the beginning. Not perfect, but unforgettable in its moment.

I prefer it for the scent over Le Beau Le Parfum… but its longevity and projection mean I won’t buy it even if it’s on promotion. I’d rather pay for Le Male Le Parfum.

  • fire_flex

It’s enjoyed more than Le Parfum because it’s more versatile and less hyped. Plus, there are no clones. Tastes are subjective. One of the best designer line interpretations of the coconut note; it might be synthetic, but the formula works well. JPG proposing something good.

SPECTACULAR, what a perfume. I recently received a 10ml decant to try it, and I’d wanted to smell it for so long. It easily becomes my signature: creamy coconut, woods, slightly citrusy, and a rich sweetness. A wonderful perfume. Yes, it’s synthetic, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad; it’s excellent. It draws attention and earns many compliments. When dry, it feels more creamy and woody without losing the coconut; what it loses significantly is the citrus, turning into a creamy aroma, similar to a lotion or sunscreen. It’s delicious, transporting you to the beach. Truly, it’s a perfume I’d like to be remembered for. Informal but delicious, suitable for daily wear and special non-formal occasions like birthdays or a night out at the beach; perfect for dates. It’s one of the most versatile if you want to step out of the citrus realm. Scent: 9/10, Longevity: 6/10: it lasted from 8am to 2pm, still perceptible, doesn’t project much but gives rich bursts. On my hand, that creaminess is already noticeable. It’s not a beast in projection, 6/10, but not every perfume needs to be. It has a pleasant personal bubble; if you apply too much, it can become overwhelming. Final note: solid 8/10, I give it a point for such a rich aroma.

Let’s dissect this thing. It’s a very simple and crude perfume; I liked it at first, but after a few uses, I came to hate it. It has a slightly heavy coconut opening, with almost no bergamot; it’s basically milky coconut from start to finish, like a Kalise coconut yoghurt left in the fridge for four days once opened. At least it’s long-lasting and radiates a metre away, very summery and spring-like, informal and like a 15-year-old’s puberty scent. It brings nothing new; in contrast, its sibling Le Beau Le Parfum is slightly more adult and masculine (though not by much) and brought more originality with that tonka bean and pineapple. Anyway, unless you’re 15-year-olds looking for a cheap, simple, burnt-out-perfume- hotter-than-a-San-Juan-firework, classless, crude, and minimally gourmand scent, don’t buy it. Scent: 2.5/10, Longevity: 7.5/10, Sillage: 7.0/10, Versatility: 9.0/10, Compliments: 9.5/10, Originality: 3.5/10, Olfactive Rarity: 1.0/10, Average: 5.7.

  • Hello, this is my favourite perfume, an absolute 10/10 and 100% recommended. It has a youthful, very sexy, fresh and summery scent; what stands out most is that high-quality sweet coconut. The longevity isn’t amazing but it’s quite good, around 6-8 hours for me, a bit more. The trail is noticeable, perfect for getting compliments; after three hours it radiates beyond your arm, and from four hours onwards it becomes a personal bubble that people notice up close without effort. I’m 19, so it seems perfect for my age, quite youthful; I can’t imagine someone near 30 wearing it, though I might be wrong. It’s my favourite fragrance because of the compliments; women love it, and the longevity and trail help. Perfect for warm climates. Occasions: day, night, summer, youthful, informal, daily; not suitable for parties or formal dates.

  • One of my favourite perfumes; the coconut and vanilla notes are incredibly addictive. It’s a really good fragrance.

  • Simple and overhyped perfume, pure tonka bean, more limited than Kiko Rivera in a nightclub. Obviously it doesn’t smell bad, but it’s very basic, less summery and Caribbean than I expected. I won’t give it a thumbs-up because it doesn’t deserve one, but I expected more. It’s the typical one I don’t know when to wear.

  • This perfume is one of those you barely notice until you do, and then you think: ‘uh, this smells delicious’. It’s sweet, fresh, and has a tropical touch that makes it unique and very wearable. It’s not invasive or heavy, but it has that ‘something’ that makes it seductive without trying too hard.

  • Too much hype; smells rich but on its own nothing extraordinary enough to blow your mind. My secondary school son likes it a lot, so he’s the one who uses it.

  • Martín Mazzo

Very versatile; suits school or work on a hot morning. Perhaps it lacks longevity; I feel like after two hours I’m not wearing anything. It seems very synthetic. Many people say it’s ‘overhyped’, but it’s the opposite: it’s underrated. More is said about the EDP than this one. In short, it’s very good for everyday use, but if you’re looking to stand out, there are better options.

  • Once I’ve tried both, I’ll write the same review. I’ve always seen the debate over which is better, and here’s my take. Short answer? Both. I don’t understand why people fight over two perfumes that are flankers, smell similar yet aren’t redundant and are for different occasions. Both work well in heat: the EDT is better for extreme heat days (without over-spraying) and the Parfum for summer evenings without overheating or in temperate climates. Honestly, I don’t see anyone wearing the Parfum on a Tuesday at noon with 32 degrees in the shade; better go for the EDT. Which one to buy? Depends. If your area is temperate or cold, go for the Parfum; if it’s hot like mine, go for the EDT. But you can have both and use them according to the occasion. Buy what you fancy.

  • emmanuel Fragance

It has an undeclared sandalwood note; it’s rich and the most versatile of the entire line. Very well made, simple yet sophisticated at the same time.

  • My signature since prep school, the three years I was there, and I wish I’d known about it sooner. Smells rich and sexy; those coconut notes the girls love. I still wear it at uni; it’s basically sweet coconut with a touch of vanilla or tonka bean at the bottom. The alcohol isn’t much of a science but it works. At 21, I see it as suitable for secondary school students up to early university years; I’ll stop using it once I’m 23 or 25. Lasts 2–3 hours projecting well, then fades and you only smell it up close.

  • Marc Casademunt Ferrer

What can I say… it achieves with little what others fail to do with much. Upon spraying, it’s citrusy, then blends with coconut and pineapple (on my skin, even if not listed in the notes). It’s a tropical vibe, easy to wear and liked by all for being inoffensive. Lasts about seven hours with good projection for two to three hours.

  • If it lasted a bit longer, it would be a 10. It fulfils its purpose in leisure spots and among a younger crowd, though for me it’s not formal enough.

Coconut, sun and skin: Le Beau is one of those fragrances that don’t need complexity to be enjoyable. Its opening has a brief touch of bergamot that disappears almost immediately, giving way to what really defines its character: a creamy coconut milk, softly sweetened with vanilla. It’s not cloying. On the contrary, its sweetness is round, warm, and melts into the skin. The dry down is tropical and evocative: it transports you to a beach with a warm breeze and bronzed skin. It has that ‘vacations in a bottle’ effect that needs no explanation. Unlike Paradise Garden, which has more layers and a more marked evolution, Le Beau bets on simplicity. And it does it well. It doesn’t aim to be a projection beast or a party bomb; for that there are others in the line; but its charm lies in how easy it is to wear. It works for any age, and it even suits a girl perfectly. I see it as ideal for summer, for the day, for when you just want to smell good without thinking too much. I give it an 8.5/10. It’s not complex, but it’s delicious. And sometimes, that’s exactly what one needs

  • diegoarauco6

Rich scent and feels premium, but the longevity and projection don’t justify the price; better to save money and grab the Parfum version. Ideal for the office or daily use without committing to more than four hours.

  • blvck-w-wilson

A very delicious, uncomplicated coconut, with the super sexy touch that distinguishes all JPGs from the millions of fragrances that exist. I’m not a fan of sweet perfumes, but the creamy coconutness of this one is what I love… I have absolutely no issues with it being synthetic; it’s so well crafted that it fades into the background for me. It’s simple. If you like JPG, you have a Le Male, and of course, you have this Le Beau

  • I reviewed this fragrance here a few years ago and I didn’t remember this problem, but recent batches stain a lot. It leaves a very obvious blue mark. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formulation or the colourants…

  • A simple fragrance, zero complexity. Easy to wear. Tropical without being heavy, it can be comfortably worn in hot summer days and nights. Beach or pool are probably the ideal scenes. A coconut opening with sweet vanilla notes. It feels quite synthetic. In the dry down those notes remain and a note like cream or sunscreen is added. It projects lightly for the first hour and a half or two, then stays skin-close for 4 or 5 hours. It’s more youthful, informal and somewhat unisex; my girlfriend wears it more than I do. I wouldn’t buy it again

  • Rich, delicious, an easy-to-wear perfume that will get you lots of compliments. The sweet, vanilla-tinged opening and the dry down are a fresh coconut; although it is sweet, it can be worn in the heat without problems because it’s not strong or cloying

  • It brings me straight back to the Revlon Coconut Lime body splash 🍋🌴, a fresh, summery coconut 😎🌞

  • Before the reformulation it was a wonder, but now it leaves much to be desired. This one, like Le Parfum, is my favourite perfume from the entire Jean Paul Gaultier line

  • One day my 22-year-old cousin, who is a perfume lover like me, brought it for me to try. To me, it smells 95% like Le Beau Le Parfum, only this one is more bearable and less sweet. Good longevity of 8 hours, but I was surprised by the projection (I thought it would be greater). If you want a less sweet Le Beau but not so green either, I recommend this as it’s the middle ground.

  • AlmeidaAromatic

I picked it up at the end of 2024 and it’s a brilliant scent, probably the one people have told me smells the best. It lasts a long time (on clothes all day, on skin around 6-8 hours), has moderate projection and is very easy to like. I wear it for casual outings, with friends or holidays (it works brilliantly at the beach, you’re basically wearing the beach on you). I wouldn’t recommend it for clubs, because despite being sweet and having projection, I think it can easily get lost among other fragrances. As a note, I’d give it a 9/10

  • I just bought it and I’m disappointed. I expected more for that price. It smells like the air fresheners in clothing stores; it’s a known scent and the synthetic opening is noticeable. The projection is low and it lasts barely an hour on skin. Should I recommend it? No, I feel there are better options at that price. Even catalogue perfumes that cost ten times less have better performance and the coconut comes through more.

  • It performs well and is easy to wear, like the rest of the Le Male line. Simple formula: citrus, coconut, vanilla, and that’s it. That sunscreen vibe is a pleasure, and unlike the Le Parfum, it’s much more bearable. I recommend it if you like the DNA because they are safe, only that the longevity fails a little.

  • joancarmona

Top perfume, very youthful. The coconut is sweet; to me, it seems cloying, but it’s easy to like.

  • Lautyreyes64

The safe option for heat: not complex but it works, with a powerful and creamy coconut. Worth it. 8.25/10

  • Daniel Henderson 77

Fresh, sweet, and charming fragrance. Some say it smells like sunscreen… well… perhaps because of that noticeable sweet coconut. But if it were the smell of sunscreen, I’d live wearing one, haha. I understand where the analogy comes from. It’s a perfume that works perfectly in any season, but it stands out on the hottest days. Daily wear and for everything, because it always looks good. A lovely fragrance for those days when you don’t know what to wear. Highly recommended.

  • Easy to be charmed by. Mind you, after all the hype, it can disappoint a little. But it is good, breezy, very casual and informal if you see it that way; it works for a date in the heat, an outing with friends, or a small event on a hot afternoon or morning. It’s quite appealing, but within my tastes, it doesn’t scale much. I recommend it and it’s not difficult at all, so a blind buy (unless coconut isn’t your thing) is recommended. Scent 8/10 Price 7/10 Projection 9/10 Longevity 8/10.

  • Guillermoadeee

Perfect. In my opinion, it’s made to please anyone. Personally, I prefer it even to the Parfum version.

  • IrisYCardamomo

I wore it for nearly four years. It was always my night scent, and every time I used it, I lived unique moments. When it ran out, I felt like it had taken a whole chapter of my life with it. It is the art of simplicity: a fresh bergamot opening, a creamy and sweet dry-down, with an exquisite coconut that envelops without being cloying. A perfect balance. You can criticise its longevity or sillage… in my case, it never mattered. My experience with it was always memorable. From the first time I wore it as a single man to the last time in a relationship, every woman who noticed it reacted. For others, it’s just a perfume. For me, it was an era.
