Well, I used this fragrance for a while. I bought it blind, seeing the positive comments on Fragrantica in English, and yes, it’s very good, long-lasting, elegant, and nocturnal. It’s not a fragrance (in my perception) for an 18 or 20-year-old; it even suits people aged 30 and up. It is mysterious, truly. What I feel is an explosion of mint and lavender in the first few seconds; as that fades, it becomes a mentholated lavender with a woody base, a bit of cardamom, and a touch of tobacco. If ‘tobacco’, it’s not a declared note but it’s felt, like when you smell the tobacco of a cigar; that touch isn’t much but it’s there. It stays this way, super linear. I don’t feel the cloves and vetiver; by the end, when it’s almost skin-level, you feel the hazelnut and nutmeg slightly sweet, but only you will feel it. I think it’s a timeless fragrance that performs better in an enclosed space. But that mentholated lavender with a woody base, a bit of cardamom, and a touch of tobacco, according to ME!, calls for seasons like autumn, spring, and summer. 3 hours projection and 6 to 7 hours longevity. A cologne at such an accessible price that it feels nothing synthetic, phew. I recommend it totally.
Hello everyone. My experience with this fragrance has been interesting: it started almost as a disappointment and evolved into a pleasant discovery. I use it for work daily thanks to its low price and the excessive heat these days in La Mancha. For the first few days (working outdoors), I couldn’t perceive its scent beyond the first few minutes, where it feels very fresh and potent, a real injection of adrenaline that, much to my regret, disappeared too soon. But things changed when I had to work in the office for two days (the paperwork was piling up); it was here where this concoction combined its subtle projection with very good longevity, adding points for me. Its intensity after the first few minutes seems designed for situations where a potent perfume would be annoying to those around me. It gradually fills the area where I am, subtly, kindly, and without bothering anyone, a kind of halo surrounding me. I encounter its scent when I return to the desk where I was five minutes ago. For me, it’s an office fragrance and for use in enclosed spaces, as DavidPriest indicated, valid for attending to that special client from many years ago, for an informal business lunch, or for a relaxed dinner with friends, and of course for that glass of wine in the kitchen with my wife when returning home at night (yes, I reapply a couple of sprays before getting out of the car; my fragrance travels with me, and no occasion is better than this). Its scent won’t offend any nose or mask other fragrances; it’s versatile in this aspect and has a sexy point at close range during the first hours when it shows more fresh, before perhaps becoming more ‘earthy’ and woody. As for the recommended ages for use, faithful to my theory, between 7 and 99 years old, although I suppose the range could be expanded further. Best regards, fragranticos.
To start, I must say this isn’t for teenagers, as they’ll prefer what’s in fashion, even if it smells like an armpit. This is for someone with defined tastes, settled in life, who sets trends with their style and way of moving through the world, where people take notice and replicate it. It’s really excellent; I never get tired of smelling it; that lavender, nutmeg, and hazelnut are unique. The hazelnut, woods, and nutmeg are fantastic. Given that its aroma is unusual and atypical, it reminded me of something of Borsalino Panama and a bit of Hugo Boss Baldessarini in its fine soapy aspect. This is for people aged 30 and up; it could be for a date, something more elegant. It’s a discontinued fragrance but I still have some ml of the bottle; that mix of hazelnuts and lavender, fine soap, and cardamom is exquisite. I still can’t find another current perfume that resembles it in composition. Obviously, it’s not focused on young students; this is a bit more refined with an elegant dress code. Its projection or aromatic bubble is in the 5-hour range, and its longevity on skin is 8 hours. It reacts to skin moisture, appearing when you sweat. Check if the Hugo Boss Bottled or Burberry Touch lines suit you, as this will do much better. I mention this as an example because some people suit this type of aroma, while for others, even glue won’t make it stick to their skin; not all pH levels are the same.
It has a soapy, clean dry-down. The scent is very similar to Lanvin L’homme Sport and has a recollection of Rive Gauche, that barbershop soap smell. In fact, my girlfriend said it smelled like shower gel to her.
Smells like cheap supermarket shower gel. Not recommended at all, and the longevity lasts about half an hour on my skin at most.
A simplistic aroma, like supermarket shower gel. Not recommended at all, and the performance is barely half an hour on my skin.
My first fragrance from this French house, crafted by Interparfums in France. Original 100 ml bottle, priced almost as cheaply as a knock-off according to what I saw locally. Batch from 2015. Totally spiced yet fresh, without being overpowering; the opening is potent and leaves a mark in the room. As it dries down it sweetens, but just enough, leaving a good impression (reviewed by the now-defunct Tony Star Fragrances). Projection isn’t long, settling quickly to personal bubble, and skin longevity is moderate (5-6 hours). I see it as suitable for daily wear, not for extreme heat, and only during the day as it lacks the power for evening wear. Due to its original aroma (the spices are noticeable), it adds something to my collection that I didn’t have before. I’d heard things about ST Dupont for a different fragrance and because it’s a lighter brand. Highly recommended, a good scent for personal enjoyment or for re-spraying in the office or enclosed spaces to last through the day. It’s discontinued, unavailable on the official website, only what remains in stock.
My first fragrance from this French house. Manufactured by Interparfums in France. 100ml bottle, original, at a price almost that of a replica, as far as I could ascertain here. Batch code from 2015. It’s totally spicy and fresh, not overpowering, with a potent opening that can leave a mark in the room. As it dries down, it sweetens, but just enough; it left a good impression, confirming it was a good purchase (reviewed by the late Tony Star Fragrances). It doesn’t have great projection, quickly retreating to a personal bubble, and the longevity on skin is moderate (5 or 6 hours). I see it for daily use, not for extreme heat, and only for daytime, as it lacks the power for evening wear. I think because it’s an original scent (the spices are noticeable), it adds to my collection, as I didn’t have anything similar. I’d heard of ST Dupont, but for a different fragrance and because it’s a lighter brand. Highly recommended; it’s a very good scent for personal enjoyment or for re-applying to please in an office or enclosed spaces (so it lasts all day). It’s discontinued, not on the official website, only units remaining in stock.
I purchased this fragrance a few months ago and after testing it extensively, here’s my take: It has a fresh, highly aromatic opening, but after 30 minutes the mint fades, leaving spices and woods. It smells very distinctive, combining fresh, spicy, and woody notes excellently. The name NOIR doesn’t do it justice; for me, it’s a daytime scent, versatile for all four seasons. It doesn’t last forever, but it delivers. It’s said to be affordable (20-30 USD), but in Argentina it’s difficult to find at a good price. Fortunately, I grabbed a tester version from a trusted perfumerie for 30 dollars. It smells a bit mature; I don’t like fragrances that feel ‘aged’—I’ve worn Kouros at 20 and 1 Million as a teenager with great success. So, age doesn’t matter.
Bought it months ago; here’s how it performs: fresh and aromatic opening, but after 30 minutes the mint gives way to spices and woods. Smells very distinctive, blending the fresh and woody notes brilliantly. The name NOIR is misleading; for me, it’s a daytime scent, versatile for all four seasons. It doesn’t last forever, but it delivers. In the US it costs $20-30, but finding it at a good price in Argentina is difficult. I managed to get a tester from a trusted perfumer for $30. Smells a bit mature, but I don’t believe age should define a fragrance; I wore Kouros at 20 and received compliments, and 1 Million as a teenager worked well for me. Age is a different matter altogether.
I bought this for my brother’s wedding and it made me feel elegant and sophisticated. I absolutely love this perfume, even the bottle—I adore it. It’s a pity it’s hard to come by.
Bought it for my brother’s wedding and it made me feel elegant and sophisticated. I really like this perfume, even the bottle itself; I loved it. Too bad it’s hard to come by.
