Absolutely magnificent. Both Purple Heart and Red Heart are my favourites, but Purple Heart takes the crown. If I had to spend on a niche fragrance, it would be this one. My only drawback is that it doesn’t last long on my skin and the trail is minimal; I can only smell it up close, and so can my family. My husband has to bring his nose right up to detect it. But what can I do? The scent is fantastic, smelling 100% natural with no synthetic notes. I adore blackberries in the woods, and this fragrance reminds me of picking a handful of ripe blackberries, washing them, and taking a bite. That’s exactly the flavour you detect when you smell it. The opening is very intense. I tried a small decant and it was still quite alcoholic at first, so initially it smells like blackberry or plum liqueur, those darker berries. Then it evolves and becomes softer and more discreet. My favourite part is the opening, because that’s when it’s sweetest; it’s incredible. Afterwards, it leaves a pleasant base of liquorice with blue flowers, presumably violet, though blended and not very noticeable. The sweet liqueur note remains, reminding me of umeshu, the super-sweet Japanese plum liqueur. It’s like a vanilla bourbon cologne, but on my nose, it smells exactly like umeshu. Delicious. I want seven bottles. And on top of that, the bottle is a real beauty.
