  I let the 2ml sample macerate for a month, and unlike Map of the Heart’s Purple and Red Heart, this one simply didn’t convince me. It doesn’t smell bad, but the balance between the promised notes is far from what I expected. The opening is a citrus bomb that lingers for up to two hours. The trail is brutal on my skin, capable of drowning out any other fragrance or even filling the room. While there’s a hint of eucalyptus in the background, by the half-hour mark it starts smelling balsamic, yet what dominates is an extremely strong, synthetic citrus that on my skin smells like citronella from Mercadona. I can’t detect any woods, cinnamon, or cardamomo. Perhaps it’s the blend with the eucalyptus, but it just smells like pure citronella. The opening seems to have a touch of licorice and something very muted incense. In the end, I don’t like it. It’s a bitter, super-citrusy, and synthetic perfume. Instead of feeling woody and spiced with cinnamon and cardamomo as I hoped, I get a citrus aroma that I only see for summer and daytime. It’s not pleasant for a date or meetings. It smells more like a summer mountain scent than winter spices. It reminds me of a blend of rosemary, thyme, and lavender, although those notes aren’t listed. I don’t know if I received a faulty sample, but I just don’t find it enjoyable. It feels unbalanced with so much citrus that it blocks your nose and you can’t smell anything else. Compared to the Purple and Red, which I would buy blind, it has left me completely disappointed.
