I was blown away by how spectacular it is. It opens with resin and oud, something my inexperienced nose didn’t expect. It lasted 10 hours on my skin. Very different from conventional perfumes.

  • Incredible perfume, beastly quality and excellent performance. Every time I find a gem like this, I move further away from designer perfumery, which sells us expensive perfumed waters as if they were pure essence, a rip-off, really. The opening is spectacular: sweet resins, oregano, a touch of citrus, fruity and spicy, I simply loved it! Within minutes, frankincense appears and a smoky woody note sits over the sweet resin, a real treasure! Gradually, leather enters, a little rough, but well balanced by the sweetness of myrrh and opoponax, which give it a more affable character. The dry-down is woody, smoky and resinous, leaving me speechless. It’s a 90% clone of Amouage Interlude Man. I’ve loved it so much that I already have four bottles in case they discontinue it. Lasting power is over 10 hours, with a marked trail at first and then moderate. It suits cold and temperate weather; it’s a night fragrance, though I’d use it unjustifiably on a winter morning just for the pleasure of wearing it. I recommend it 100% to lovers of sweet and resinous orientals. An irrisible price for the quality and performance, a scent away from trends but with a Western soul.

  • Absolutely love it; it’s addictive and wonderful. A high-quality oriental fragrance at a ridiculous price, very similar to the great Amouage Interlude.

  • laenfermeria

Extremely Oriental and elegant, reminiscent of Amouage’s Interlude (which, by the way, is too much for me), but wrapped in a crunchy praline of nuts that makes it irresistible. Sometimes the pupil surpasses the master… someone takes an idea and carries it to the end, resulting in this wonder. It’s addictive, top-quality, with excellent longevity and projection; two sprays last all day and you can tell. It’s worth far more than its price; I predict it will rise once it spreads and people start hoarding bottles. I shall be part of that problem. Run, madmen!

An exquisitely oriental scent that certainly has an air of Amouage Interlude (which, by the way, is too much for me), but wrapped in a sort of crunchy nut praliné, making it irresistible. Sometimes the pupil far surpasses the master… one has an idea, but someone comes along who develops it to its ultimate consequences, and the final result is… this marvel. Addictive, of magnificent quality, with excellent longevity and projection, as two sprays are enough for the whole day and it makes an impression. Without a doubt, it is worth MUCH, MUCH more than it costs; I predict a price increase once its scent spreads further and people start hoarding bottles. I do not mind admitting that I will be partly to blame for this happening. Run, you fools!

  • If you like Amouage Interlude, you will love this; for me, it is even better, smokier, less musky, and eight times cheaper. Clearly masculine. Longevity and sillage are excellent.

  • I bought this fragrance blindly due to the hype in the community. I must say the experience is mixed. An opening I absolutely dislike, giving me a sensation of burnt plastic. Moreover, that feeling lasts at least the first hour. From then on, it turns into a very, very complex but undoubtedly more pleasant scent. It remains a very synthetic sensation throughout. It is only after four hours, and when its projection has diminished considerably, that the scent is truly enjoyed. If it resembles Interlude, I certainly will not buy it. Scent: 5 Projection and sillage: 7.5 Longevity: 8.5 Versatility: 6

It is a scent I like,,,,,, a clone of Interlude,,,,,, for me the tricky part is the opening,,,,,, once it settles,,,,,, it is a creamy perfume,,,,,, the only thing it lacks is more longevity,,,,,,, compared to other clones,,,,,, they keep serving hot potatoes…. while this one stays very close to the skin or disappears,,,,,, a pity…. because it smells very, very good,,,,,,

  • Another clone attempting to catch up but falling short of the power and magic of MIDNIGHT OUD POR ARD AL ZAAFARAN. I cannot find any mention of MIDNIGHT OUD POR ARD AL ZAAFARAN on this site, which I have been testing lately: bergamot at the start paired with potent saffron and smoke, followed by a sublime, sweetened frankincense reminiscent of the interior of a cult temple. It is a beast in terms of longevity and sillage (a beast that must be among the BEST MODES). A sheikh’s perfume; it smells of power and p*** (I feel ashamed, but I cannot find the words to express it). Please advise where I can report this so they can include it.

  • A charming smoky scent with great value for money. Better than many designer perfume fakes that smell like nothing or all smell the same and cost twice as much. It doesn’t have much sillage, projecting less than a metre in the first hour before settling close to the skin. It’s for enjoying on oneself because the aroma is delicious. Sometimes I wear it for dinner or after a shower just to accompany the meal. It’s quite economical and highly recommended.

The bottle deceives: it seems like a simple, understated scent, yet this perfume is a beast! It smells strong, with many notes at once: smoke, myrrh, oregano. It feels warm and different, in a good way. I’m happy with the purchase and would buy it again without hesitation.

  • maravillas00$

The bottle is deceptive; perhaps a simple, low-power floral scent, but this perfume is the exact opposite! It’s a beast when it comes to strength. You can detect many notes at once: the smoke, the myrrh, the oregano. It feels warm and woody, definitely something different in a good way. I’m happy with this purchase and would buy it again!

  • konvulsion

It amuses me that people claim ‘the good one’ or ‘the beast’ is plain Shaghaf Oud… Do they actually own the Shaghaf Oud? Shaghaf is oud with vanilla. There’s no myrrh or incense, which is what gives it a resinous note. This one smells resinous, so it won’t be as overpowering as the vanilla, but it has a quite distinct scent. For me, it smells better than the much-hyped and expensive Interlude.

  • konvulsion

ThetioLui, the Midnight Oud by Ard Al Zaafaran doesn’t contain saffron; that’s the Juliette Has a Gun Midnight. It also lacks myrrh like this one does. I’m currently smelling another decant of Abyad, and this is what comes closest to the incense of the Three Kings’ procession with maximum potency.

  • I’m not sure how much it resembles Amouage’s Interlude, but it’s spot-on to Midnight Oud; perhaps Shaghaf is slightly more resinous, but come on, they’re almost identical. The performance is insane and the scent is a wonder.

  • I’m not sure how much it resembles Amouage’s Interlude, but it’s a dead ringer for Midnight Oud. Perhaps Shaghaf is slightly more resinous, but honestly, they’re almost identical. The longevity is insane and the scent is simply wonderful.
