Descripción

Swiss Arabian Tobacco 01 is a spicy oriental fragrance for men and women. This creation, launched in 2024, positions itself within the current olfactive landscape as a fresh proposal. The nose behind this composition is Angéline Leporini. The top notes unfold with plum, apple, licorice, cumin, and pink pepper; the heart reveals opoponax, amber, patchouli, and ylang-ylang; while the base notes anchor the essence with tobacco, honey, vanilla, sandalwood, musk, and cashmere wood.

I think this perfume isn’t talked about enough. Tobacco 01 is the only Extrait de Parfum in their Heritage collection. Yes, compared to other Arabic fragrances, the price might be slightly higher. Still, I think it’s totally worth it. In fact, I’d pay much more. As for performance: incredible. Longevity, projection and sillage are vast. I don’t recommend applying it on clothes under any circumstances (perhaps only on very light clothes you’re willing to wash). Projection and sillage are equally potent. They might not say anything to you, but I assure you they will smell. As for the scent: mainly sweet fruity, but not cloying or gourmand despite the honey. Both plum and licorice are present from the very first second. Later I detect the amber and those heavier notes like tobacco. It’s not a particularly notable tobacco, as one might expect from the name. Still, it blends with other notes making it… rough? I know it makes little sense, but I feel it’s a sweet and soft tobacco, yet simultaneously rough and noticeable. I don’t know, haha. Undoubtedly a compliment getter and quite versatile within dense, nocturnal fragrances.

I’ll come back with updates, but for first impressions I can warn you: IT IS TOO sweet as described here.

  • I think it’s a perfect fusion of tobacco, honey and plum, gradually adding the other scents. The opening is quite strong and very long-lasting; honestly, the perfume that smells most like it is Guerlain’s Honey Tobacco, though Oliedo is much darker and stronger. I feel Tobacco 01 is more wearable than the other and much better value for money.

  • It left me contemplative; the scent is savoury, leaning sweet (honey), the tobacco is greener and herbal, spices are always present in the evolution, it becomes creamier with leather and floral notes. I actually like it and almost all notes are perceptible, the catch is I can’t quite decipher it… It’s unisex but I don’t feel it’s my type, I picked it up cheap at twenty-seven dollars. I wear it in semi-temperate climates, it leans more masculine, lasts well. I recommend trying it before buying. I feel the notes aren’t as diffused; they hit all at once, somewhat sharp, without a distinct evolution. Although it’s good quality, I’ll keep using it and if it bores me, I’ll sell or gift it.
