Bergamotto di Calabria by Perris Monte Carlo is an aromatic citrus fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2018, this composition was created by Gian Luca Perris and Luca Maffei. The top notes unfold with bergamot, Paraguay petit grain, pink pepper and pepper; the heart reveals orange blossom, neroli and jasmine; while the base notes complete the pyramid with Haitian vetiver, sandalwood, iris and musk.

It sounds like Bergamotto di Calabria by Acqua di Parma, not just because of the name. It is very citrusy and natural, less creamy than the Lemon Pie by ADP thanks to the absence of sandalwood; here there is something greener, more realistic, a little rougher, with a floral touch. You sense a leap in quality compared to the ADP version. The projection is good for the first half an hour and then drops. It performs little, lasting about four hours. A simple, light, fresh, natural and very soft aroma. Recommended.
It starts with half an hour of spiced citrus and then… nothing. After two years waiting to see if the perfume would mature, the only thing that has matured is me.
Calabria Bergamotto kicks off with that natural freshness typical of Perris, but the citrus fades in a breath, leaving a spiced, powdery base where black and pink pepper take centre stage. Pity the longevity is so poor; after half an hour, you have to press your nose right against your skin to detect anything. It’s a pleasant scent, but disappointing for its lack of performance.
