  With the names and liquid colours, Bohoboco already makes you wonder what on earth it smells like. I started with Magic Mushrooms because of the name, which intrigued me the most. I read the notes and description, and prepared myself with a certain fear of the journey. From the first spray, it disorients you: a good start. A bright grapefruit blended with lavender and green notes, especially the cassis, reminds me crazily of the Spanish ice cream ‘Pirulo Tropical’. Sounds ridiculous? Yes, but it’s true. After all, what does one expect from a trip? So we begin by escaping the typical citrus opening, showing from the outset a fragrance with many facets. When the opening fades, the lavender and the rest of the scents take on strength, always supported by a mossy and woody base with patchouli and vetiver. Following the conceptual part, that mix of moss and woods creates a mushroom sensation at the heart of the fragrance. Here, leaving behind that original opening, the perfume enters more classic or ‘old-school’ territory, resulting in something more mature and fitting perfectly into the category of a Chypre with a Fougère base. In the end, it’s a genuine psychedelic journey that unites several categories and notes that are normally difficult to combine without making sense, but here they are handled with mastery, resulting in a very interesting fragrance that demonstrates the perfumer’s great skills with a complex formulation. A pity we don’t know its name. Best wishes!
