Descripción

Scorpio by French Avenue is a spicy woody olfactory creation designed for men and women. This new fragrance, launched in 2025, has been composed by Jean-Christophe Hérault. Its olfactory pyramid unfolds with top notes of davana, pink pepper, neroli and lemon (sour lime); a heart of rum, vetiver and statice; and a warm base of tobacco, vanilla bean and styrax.

  • I’m still testing it and can’t believe it doesn’t contain oud; it’s clearly noticeable in the base.

  • What a beast of a fragrance! Starting with the bottle: one of the best I’ve seen, well-crafted and elegant, so the box alone makes you think there’s something special. The opening is aromatic and spicy with a very brief citrus touch that adds freshness. Pink pepper stands out from the very first second, lively and sparkling, while lemon and davana contribute a brief green-herbal nuance that marks the start. Neroli lingers softly and cleanly in the background. A few minutes in, the transition truly captivates: a dark, warm, and addictive rum accord blended with dry, serious vetiver. Bluebell appears to soften everything with an aromatic-floral nuance, giving it that nocturnal, elegant, and enveloping vibe. It’s in the dry-down where Scorpio truly shines. Tobacco emerges creamy and rounded, accompanied by dark vanilla that adds sweetness without cloying. And styrax, the key player, adds a balsamic, smoky, and deep touch. That effect is what might make some think there’s oud or leather here, even though it’s not present: it’s the styrax creating that dark, mysterious sensation. The performance is outstanding: over nine hours on skin and excellent projection for the first three. On clothes, it directly fills the room. As for weather and usage, Scorpio works especially well in autumn and winter, particularly on cold nights, where its warm, spicy, and balsamic character is enjoyed much more. I see it as clearly a night fragrance, ideal for outings, parties, dimly lit settings, or dates where you want to leave an aroma with presence and personality. It has that mysterious, enveloping edge that really stands out when the temperature drops and pairs wonderfully with a dressed-up style or an intention to make an impact. A scent that doesn’t go unnoticed: mysterious, sensual, conquering, and with incredible presence. Rating: 9.5/10
