It smells quite good; it’s very boozy with a sweet touch. Given the fragrance profile, I expected it to last longer; on my skin, it manages about six hours and isn’t very projective. The bottle is a bit cheap, especially the cap. I expected more, but I’m not complaining because the price is excellent (though there are better options in that range).
To be honest, it smells exactly as promised: a strong, dominant tobacco. For the first two hours, it smells like the clothes of a chain smoker—that is, a 5/10 because it’s as if someone extinguished a cigarette right on top of you. After that, it mellows slightly into a sweet scent with lots of tobacco and a hint of rum. It’s rich, but that initial two-hour phase is a bit excessive.
I’ve tried both from Olfactory and they work brilliantly; they’re Maison Margiela clones that perform like a dream. I’m sticking with Bonfire, which has no entry on Fragrantica and deserves a review. It’s not linear; it truly evolves: initially, it smells of smoke, pepper, and liquor—a bit strong if you get too close, but perfect in the trail. After 15 minutes, the liquor recedes and the pepper and woods come forward for another 20. By the 30-minute mark, a soft vanilla with nuts and spices emerges, which is what stands out most in the trail. The projection isn’t beastly but holds up well for the first two hours. The longevity surprised me: on my skin, it lasts over 12 hours, which is rare. For winter without breaking the bank, Bonfire is a brilliant option. Music Fest also works well, though perhaps it’s not quite as faithful to Jazz Club, which is a perfume in a league of its own.
