  1. Top notes of almond, occasionally reminiscent of a freshly sharpened pencil. The projection is intimate, perfect for dates or simply being comfortable in one’s own skin. The longevity is good, without reaching the excess of Habit Rouge. Pure Guerlain quality.

It is the richest in my collection, yet I don’t use it much. I would like to wear it more, but I always choose another because ‘it suits the moment better’. I should use it more, otherwise I only end up testing it 🙂

I made a mistake buying this as the seller confused it with Habit Rouge Parfum. It feels high quality; I don’t understand the complaints about projection, as it projects well for the first two hours, though not as much as the red one. The only downside is that almond musk gives me a headache, unlike Habit Rouge, which I wear without issue. It is not the red one; I recommend going for the red.

  4. Of the entire line, the previous Extreme before the feather label lasts longer. This Parfum smells nice but doesn’t cling as much as others in the series. Longevity is medium-low (4-5 hours with 20 sprays) and that almond liqueur (amaretto) sounds artificial and half-baked, it doesn’t convince me. Habit Rouge Parfum plays with the rum and works it better; the quality is evident. I bought it and sold it.

A tribute to the refined gentleman. An aroma not for everyone, capturing liqueurs from a stately approach that some may not enjoy, but those with mature tastes will adore it. L’Homme Ideal was born to represent the definitive man: seductive, socially adept, and classy. Almond liqueur wrapped in leather and woods, bearing that Guerlain seal that lends age and maturity. A standout fragrance for an adult man. Autumn-winter suits it well, versatile to a certain extent. Totally worth it. Longevity and projection are moderate, sophisticated beyond measure at a fair price.

I respect the positive comments; I take no value away from them. For me, it is unwearable and lacks originality. I detect neither the almond nor the leather. A profound disappointment. It seems like a good deodorant.

What a fragrance by GOD. It brings back good memories of Madrid. I used it in the cold and at night, walking with my girlfriend or having drinks with friends (I skip daytime liqueurs, they say it is versatile). Points apart: it is SO enchanting… the best part is that it is contained yet perceptible, it does not project, it does not shout. You only discover it. Somewhere along the way a compliment, ‘hey, you smell delicious’, and the rest is magic with the cold air. The antonym of loud fragrances. The message is warmth, refinement, and distinction. Advice: wear it well, generous sprays, carry a decant to highlight the amaretto when you first come out, and use it only in autumn/winter at night. I hope they do not reformulate it.

  8. Indeed, it is a DELICIOUS treat. It lasts less than Habit Rouge Parfum, which I find sublime, but this is more ‘educated’, less potent, and perhaps more elegant. Although it lasts less, it has the typical combination that only Guerlain knows how to create with its ’round’ and elegant patchouli, the perfect finish. Extraordinary for work meetings where one needs to bring an extra touch of elegance without invading (as Habit Rouge would). Simply delicious.

  9. Good heavens, what a beauty. I had the Extreme when it launched and loved it, but this is incredible, lasting easily 8 to 9 hours. My workplace and social circle loved it. 9/10.

  10. It is an exquisite fragrance; this will appeal to everyone. The problem is the longevity and projection; I know this line never stood out for these things, but given the price and Parfum concentration, I expected more. In my case, it lasts about 4 hours perceptibly without projecting. If this lasted 8 or 9 hours, it would undoubtedly be a masterpiece of perfumery.

  11. Homme Ideal Parfum isn’t trying to be a projection beast, and Delphine Jelk didn’t attempt the miracle. It starts powerful with an almond liqueur that deceives you, followed by elegant leather. It leaves a noticeable personal bubble for trained noses, though it doesn’t project like Habit Rouge Parfum. Ideal for day, office, or a leisurely afternoon. After macerating since December, wait for the miracle: now it smells like a small hand-picked pomegranate, with triple longevity and cold-weather projection.

  12. By far the best in the L’Homme Ideal saga, alongside Cool. This one is for winter/autumn and Cool for spring/summer. With these two, the rest are dispensable. The Parfum lasts longer, projects more, is more elegant, and smells better than the EDT original, Intense, Extreme, or EDP. While in the others the almond note lasts an hour before coarse notes like vanilla or ambroxan make it sweet and common, here the almond persists throughout, combined with the leather, making it more elegant. The only drawback is the price.

  13. Honestly, I think it’s one of the best in the entire collection, even though it’s no longer being sold. It is the Cologne.

  14. Rich, balsamic amaretto, very peculiar… I tested it generously on my skin in a perfumery without knowing the notes and could not identify what it smelled of. I simply enjoyed that deliciously unknown and different fragrance. It is divine; I love it.

  15. A masterpiece of perfumery. Guerlain has become my favourite designer brand. Pure elegance. As for the scent: almond liqueur and leather, natural and very realistic.

  16. For me, the true winner of the 2024 Fragrantica Awards for Best Launch of the Year. Althair and Le Male Elixir are from 2023 and were voted last year, so the legitimate winner is Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Parfum. What a masterpiece!

  18. Love at first sniff; it conveys something incredible. It is definitely different from the current market; you won’t smell like anyone else. Its evolution is key: you don’t need many sprays to make an impression. Important: it is not youthful; it is for men aged 30+, and do not wear it with tracksuit bottoms; this is pure elegance. It is not for everyone; it is not like Y EDP or Le Beau, which appeal to anyone. My rating: 10/10. If you are looking for something different but of quality, give it a try; it is not a blind buy!

  20. Two hours after applying it, I can’t even smell it by pressing my nose to my skin. Something that doesn’t happen with Habit Rouge Parfum. Try it on your skin. Don’t spend money on something that isn’t worth it.

  22. Tested dry and on skin. It’s the Extreme version but more loaded and heavier. You can notice the floral part of the Extreme with the amaretto liqueur that makes it denser. Both are very good and similar; the Extreme is more versatile, while this is only for cold climates.

  23. It’s the quintessential powerhouse: an Amaretto liqueur scent with almond notes, subtle yet elegant sweetness. It’s garnered me more compliments than any other fragrance. It takes the L’Homme Idéal EDT in a new direction, but it is far deeper and denser.

  24. It’s a proper masterpiece. Very similar to the Extreme in the opening, but after a few minutes, that aldehydic and sweet note emerges, softening and modernising the Extreme. In my opinion, it’s a modernised and more wearable version without that strong middle phase. In the dry-down, if you don’t have a trained nose, they smell the same (9-10 hours on skin). Between the two, I’d choose this Parfum; it’s more wearable and spectacular due to that sweet note that earns compliments from women.

  25. The best I’ve ever tried. A sublime blend of Amaretto liqueur, cherry, leather, chocolate, caramel, and patchouli, with a balsamic touch. It’s sexy, addictive, and draws endless compliments. It has become my number one, and it’s hard to imagine anything surpassing it. It’s irresistible!

  26. A perfect 10/10 for winter and evening dates. Its performance is good only under those conditions; otherwise, it won’t project well. It gives off the vibe of dining with your partner at a luxury restaurant. Cold is key; it lasted around 6-7 hours in the chill. In other seasons, you won’t get much out of it, so be careful spending on it. It’s not loud; it’s intimate, refined, exquisite, and alluring. Apply generously, and spraying before you leave highlights its distinctive alcohol opening.

  27. Forgive me, I have no doubt it’s a masterpiece for those who love that scent, but it’s not for me. The longevity and sillage are exaggerated; even after washing my hands and the application areas thoroughly, the scent lingers. It’s a bomb.

  28. The aroma is delightful, but the performance is concerning. I’ve just purchased it and will let it settle for a few days. I’ll update in a month, for better or worse.

  29. This is bottled elegance. One of the most realistic fragrances regarding its notes you will ever encounter. It opens with an incredibly realistic Amaretto, then turns sweet and warm. It’s not for everyone or every occasion; that is its limitation. Longevity improves with air exposure and lasts well over 7 hours with moderate projection. Recommended for a broad collection. Batch 01/2024.

  30. Delicious; it has become my favourite in the line. Instant love at first sniff. At first, I sensed a blend of the EDP and Extreme, but as it dries down, it takes its own path: it retains that cherryed and almond air, but with more body from the leather and Amaretto liqueur, transforming it into a honeyed cherry liqueur that is truly delicious. Finally, patchouli emerges, adding a chocolatey, creamy, and slightly woody-sweet nuance, making it a spectacular scent. Very addictive, sensual, elegant, and versatile. For me, it is by far the best launch of the year. The only downside is the very high price, but it is worth the investment.
