Ambre Safrano is a characterful oriental luxury. It opens with a potent saffron and leather spice bomb, but if it stayed this intense, it would be a resounding no. After a few minutes, the tone softens and plum emerges, reminiscent of Tabac Rose, making it much more wearable. The dry down is ambered, incense-smoky, and vanilla-sweetened with just the right amount of sweetness. The best part comes after two hours. It is 100% unisex, though I believe men would wear it better. Suitable only for cold weather due to its beast-mode performance. It smells like nothing known, not even Initio’s Side Effect; at times it vibrates like soft Encens, but they are not the same. You must smell it before buying, as it is not a safe bet. In summary: a good creation, but not for me at the moment. I would use it as a substitute for Tabac Rose, which I already own and prefer.
