Pas Ce Soir Extrait by BDK Parfums is an oriental floral fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2023, this composition is signed by nose Violaine Collas. • Very similar to the original but stronger and a bit more unisex… I’m not sure, I think I’ll stick with the original.

  • Mitafragance

I can’t distinguish specific notes, but it’s a delicious fruity scent with a creamy, soft base, almost dreamlike. I wouldn’t say it’s mature, but it conveys elegance and spectacular quality.

  • I thought I was looking for an improved version of Pas Ce Soir and I wasn’t wrong. Simply… WOW. It’s a perfect extrait version that retains the DNA of the original. They are 85-90% similar. It remains a fruity bomb with quince and peach at the heart. Even more spicy than the previous one, with white floral touches. The dry-down is warm, sweet, and silky, yet darker, woody, with patchouli taking the lead, alongside cocoa pod, vanilla, and benzoin. It’s still sweet but less cloying than the original; perhaps that’s why, although it remains feminine, it feels more unisex. Performance: if the original was weak, this is the opposite. Projection and trail are enormous for the first 2-3 hours, noticeable until 6-7, and it lasts over 10 hours on skin. No complaints. A fantastic launch: if you love the original, you’ll love this, but it’s redundant to have both. If you don’t own either, I recommend this Extrait version.

Overestimating expectations is usually a bad idea because you end up disappointed. Something like that happened with Pas Ce Soir Extrait. It’s a powerhouse with great longevity, but I didn’t imagine it would be like this. If you know Mugler’s Angel EDT, you’ll realise they are very similar. The BDK version is sweeter but shares that powerful, sweet patchouli with a fruity base. Here, the quince isn’t as distinct as in the classic; it smells very sweet but you don’t notice it at first. Honestly, if you already have the classic and the Angel, there’s no need to buy this. If I had to choose between this and the classic, I’d stick with the original EDP.

  • More masculine than the original; you can tell from the spicy opening and fruity sweetness. On my skin, it still leaves an indefinible musk/patchouli trail that disrupts the composition. The mid-phase and dry-down are more similar. Better longevity and projection than the original, but it’s not for me.

  • Powerful and seductive. I don’t detect the patchouli, or it’s so well integrated that it doesn’t bother. Smells like quince with peach and a cocoa pod note at the end. Excellent. Very long-lasting, with a slight trail, but it lasts over 10 hours.
