It’s a delicious gourmand, neither overly sweet nor dense, but clean and balsamic. At first, it smells of almond and vanilla with flowers that add freshness and a powdery touch. As it dries down, the creamy, sweet tonka bean takes centre stage; the tobacco is barely noticeable on my skin. It reminds me of marzipan and has a very Christmassy vibe. Being clean (not soapy), it’s highly versatile: suitable for day or night, perfect for autumn/winter or crisp days. Unisex, leaning feminine. Performance is top-notch, lasting 8 hours with moderate projection. In BDK, it recalls ‘Rouge Smoking’ in vibe, not scent. If you like the other, you’ll surely love this. A great option for gourmand lovers.

At first, it’s almond with vanilla and floral touches that give it freshness and a powdery sensation. As it dries down, the star appears: a well-made, creamy, and sweet tonka bean. Tobacco is barely perceptible on my skin. It reminds me of marzipan and vibrates with a super Christmassy feel. Being a clean gourmand, it’s very versatile: suitable for day and night, perfect for daily wear but special for occasions. Perhaps more for autumn/winter or Christmas, but if it’s not too hot, it works well too. Unisex, leaning towards feminine. Very good performance, moderate projection, and lasts about 8 hours. Within BDK, it reminds me a bit of Rouge Smoking; they share the same vibe. If you like one, you’ll probably like the other. If you enjoy gourmands, it’s a very good option.

It lasts 4 hours with low sillage, better than Pas Ce Soir but still short-lived. Would I buy it? My heart says yes, my mind says I already have others. Perhaps 10ml to satisfy my almond gourmand craving 🤤

Totally unisex, leaning towards feminine. Longevity is 4 hours with low projection, better than Pas Ce Soir but still insufficient. Would I buy it? My heart says yes and my mind no; I have more scents like this. Perhaps 10ml to calm my craving for almond gourmands 🤤
BDK’s Velvet Tonka is an autumnal aroma that I personally wear at any time, depending on each person’s tolerance. It’s a velvety gourmand composition of vanilla, almonds, and tonka. Warm, sensual, and seductive, very feminine. It lasts 7 to 8 hours on skin with high projection for the first 3 hours. NOTE: I apply it generously myself 🥰 usage can vary performance.
Velvet Tonka is like marzipan with hints of cherry and vanilla that makes me feel wrapped in warmth. I adore it at Christmas. It’s velvety, enveloping, and very sweet (and that doesn’t bother me). I see it more for cold environments because it could be overwhelming in the heat. Good longevity and noticeable projection at the start, which later stays close to the skin, like a soft blanket for you and your loved ones. On my skin, it lasts about seven hours, with the first three having the most projection. Adorable and one of my all-time favourites.

At first, it could be a flanker for La Nuit Trésor. The tobacco is barely noticeable; almond, tonka, and vanilla dominate, and there’s certainly a hint of cherry. It lasts quite a while; I can still smell it at 12 hours, but as it dries down, it becomes more like Girl of Now.
Of the BDK perfumes I’ve tried, this Velvet Tonka is perhaps the one I liked the least. To my nose, the main note is almond, accompanied by vanilla and the spicy touch of tonka. I don’t perceive the other notes. It’s a warm and cosy blend for winter, but on my skin, the almond tastes very bitter. Furthermore, its longevity is poor; it has moderate projection but only lasts about four hours. Although BDK has good quality, this wasn’t for me. Scent 5/10, Longevity 4/10, Projection 6.5/10, Value for money 3/10, Versatility 6/10, Packaging 7/10. Would I buy it again? No.
Velvet Tonka is a soft, elegant embrace. It exudes distinction subtly without drawing attention, yet gives you the confidence that you aren’t wearing just any perfume. It isn’t overused or similar to commercial scents. If you’re looking for something different but pleasant, I recommend it.

I love it. A perfect blend of vanilla, tonka, and roses. It’s sweet, warm, and so cosy that it makes you want to keep smelling it forever.
