Pas Сe Soir by BDK Parfums

It is a perfect fruity for those who want to smell sweet in summer without being overpowering. It reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle or Chance Eau Tendre, though softer. It is fresh and cheerful, slightly ambery deep in the dry-down, adding depth. A choice to look elegant without feeling the heat, not youthful but not matronly either. An easy favourite.

It smells super elegant, feminine. It really does smell like quince paste. At first sniff it gave me the vibe of being a perfume for an executive, empowered and independent woman. The second or third time I applied it I did not love it as much as the first time. It smells lovely and sweet, ideal for a formal outing, an elegant party, a work meeting. But I just feel it is not really the type of perfume you can wear every day as a signature fragrance, unless you love it. There are no rules, but I think everyday use can become cloying, so I prefer to save it for certain occasions.

It’s a better-quality fruity Victoria’s Secret. Don’t go by the YouTubers because you’ll be disappointed. It’s not niche, it’s not artistic, it doesn’t have good longevity or sillage. It’s a simplistic fruity, feminine scent. I agree with Tuberosa and Probadoaprobado. I’m adding this, not to bash the perfume but to help anyone buying blind. It’s priced like niche but it’s just any designer perfume. To invest in this, go for a Mugler or a Lolita L, which takes more risks and costs less. BDK, honestly, feels like an overrated brand in every way to me. I wouldn’t go out in the evening wearing Rouge Smoking because it’s too little… With this one, I’d walk the dog and with Gris Charnel… it’s masculine (I love men’s fragrances) but this one is for an older gentleman… I even struggle to wear it after a shower. The rest of the BDKs I’ve had the pleasure of trying are worse. If you want niche, invest in a Mancera/Montale at half the price and more innovative.

If this has good performance, it’s a brilliant fragrance. This smells like blue pineapple Sugus sweets. I don’t know if you know what I mean, but if you’ve had them you know what this smells like. Fresh, versatile, summery, youthful and very well made. A well-crafted fruity/floral fragrance (more fruity than floral). Slightly leaning feminine, but I can totally see myself wearing it on a summer afternoon at a party in Ibiza.

Another perfume that is overrated, especially by some reviewers who clearly rate it above reality because they are part of some collaboration. It’s a pretty perfume, with quality ingredients and I would even say with an elegant touch, but it’s not a spectacular perfume or one with great performance. Personally, I don’t like the quince paste note (not quince) but the heavy sweetness, if you like that dessert you might love this perfume. I also don’t like the very ripe pear type that dominates the opening, since it reminds me of the one I smell in La Belle by JPG and which I don’t like either. Finally, that fruity combination with jasmine slightly reminds me of Angel eau toilette and Royal Freessia by Zara which don’t win me over either. Its longevity doesn’t go beyond 3 hours and its projection is low. For all this, I think it’s overrated. I tried the extrait and, although it seems more masculine as it’s spicier, it lasts longer, at least the minimum expected for the 260 euros it costs. I see it as an everyday perfume, since with its low projection it doesn’t bother anyone and it doesn’t have anything that makes it very memorable either. I would characterise it as a white floral with a lot of sweetness and spice. Lucky I only bought a decant. This perfume is beautiful and delicate. It opens with a sweetness that gave me a gourmand impression but not overwhelming. I sense something toasted and sweet similar to caramel but it must be the toasted quince that gives this such special aroma. That’s something I’ve done on the stove to scent the room and the aroma is very similar, so I find it very fruity and sweet on skin. It lasts about 10 hours on skin, I’ve worn it in winter and on clothes until you wash them. Totally worth it, it’s very well made, very well crafted. At first I noticed the ginger but I barely feel it on my skin. In my experience it’s more a delicate fruity gourmand. It’s not bitter like Angel, I don’t think it resembles it.

I agree with the resemblance to Angel by Mugler, but with a softer performance. For the price I found it costly. Very beautiful and refined though.

I bought a sample to try it and as soon as I smelt it it reminded me of a perfume from my collection but I couldn’t work out which one. After a while I realised it resembles the “Mugler Angel Eau de Toilette from 2019”. It’s a pleasant scent but if you don’t want to spend what it costs, even having tried it, I recommend this more affordable option than the one from BDK. At least that’s my olfactory perception 🙂

Well, here we are. I succumbed to all the YouTube reviews about this perfume and was so fascinated that I almost bought it blind. Luckily I didn’t. It’s a pretty perfume, without great complexity (in fact none), youthful and easy to wear. It’s a sweet fruity with a light spicy touch that I imagine is ginger. It’s not cloying but it has something that feels heavy. I agree with those who say it’s addictive, because without being especially thrilled by it, it’s true that I can’t stop smelling it. However, I don’t see the appeal or the originality or the spark. In that sense I’m somewhat surprised by the buzz it has. It has something that on skin reminds me a lot of Musk Noir Rose by Narciso Rodriguez and that has a lot to do with that wet-fruity part. Curiously I can’t stop smelling that one either even though it doesn’t fascinate me. Although if I had to choose I’d keep the latter which I consider slightly drier. On me personally it doesn’t last more than 3-4 hours, but I can’t blame the perfume for that because my skin in general doesn’t hold well… It’s not an intrusive perfume and it ticks many boxes to be the type of fragrance that everyone around will like. However, and even though it’s a simple perfume, I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind unless you’re a fan of sweet fruity perfumes.

The quince wraps everything and I perceive it as toasted. The scent is very feminine, enveloping, kind, flirty. It makes me feel beautiful, even though it’s close to my sweetness limit. I’d read negative comments about its performance, but on me it lasts and projects wonderfully. With five sprays people have noticed and complimented it on me and I feel wrapped in it for several hours. It’s a perfume people like. Personally I find it very chic.

The second time I smelt it on skin… I liked it more, but I couldn’t find that something special that would make me want it. But as I used it more and more… it won me over. As I said, it is a sweet fruity fragrance, where the main star for me is quince, adorned with spices especially in the opening, blended with the creaminess of jasmine and with a silky cashmere base. I don’t think it is a super complex scent. For me it is something easy, simple, unpretentious… but it gives me everything. I do see the niche quality in this fragrance, because you can tell in the quality of the ingredients and because, at least I, have never smelt anything similar before (specifically Tender Romance, which it is most compared to here, I have not been able to try). I am not usually a fan of fragrances with a strong fruity component, but I think this is probably the most seductive and elegant fruity fragrance I have tried so far. Super versatile. It could be unisex (like any fragrance) although in this case I see it leaning more feminine. I find it hard to imagine a woman not liking it… I realise its only drawback would be the level of sweetness, maybe not suitable for all tastes (or at least not for all occasions). I don’t know what it has, but it drives men mad… they give me compliments over and over. As for performance… it is definitely not beast mode. On me it has moderate projection for the first hours, with solid longevity of about 5-6h, then dropping to a skin scent. It could be better, yes, but it is not bad either. Regarding the comparison with Sunset Hour, which I have in my collection, I think both play in the same lane and could serve the same function, but beyond that, I honestly don’t find them similar. Pas Ce Soir is sweeter, more mature and elegant; Sunset Hour is more fruity, casual and youthful. Plus, this one has slightly better performance. In short, whilst aware that this may not be BDK’s most groundbreaking creation, I love it and find it an addictive scent. I already have it in my collection as my favourite go-to fragrance for spring/summer.

If I could describe this fragrance in one word it would be: A D D I C T I V E. The room will smell like you 🙂 The first time I smelt it, it didn’t blow me away. Because of so many comments it’s true that you arrive with very high expectations. BUT to my surprise, as I kept wearing it and getting to know it, I thought wow, it’s a fragrance you simply have to have in your collection. It’s a slightly spicy fragrance, I would say a little floral, fruity, SWEET and VERY warm. Once you wear it you can’t imagine being without it, it’s extremely sexy, captivating, feminine and delicate, I feel confident when I wear it, people will definitely ask you what you’re wearing, because while the smell is not that unique, it’s nothing like something you smell around. This perfume is feminine, with class, the girl who wears it surely has good taste, it’s a fragrance that backs you up, you know you smell good when you wear it. Is it worth it? I think so, even though it’s not beast mode, it is an ADDICTIVE fragrance for you and for those around you
