I absolutely love it; it’s very elegant and unique, but a word of warning: it doesn’t last more than a few minutes on me.

I tried it at an airport and liked it so much I bought it on the spot. It smells wonderful, elegant, and is ideal for the office. It’s perfect for men aged 30+. Unfortunately, I’ve been using it a lot lately and it’s starting to bore me slightly, but it still smells fantastic.

Wow, it was a blind buy. I’m 41 and was looking for something more mature; I had good references and high hopes. I used it on New Year’s Eve and it didn’t disappoint: you can tell the quality of the ingredients as it’s a designer fragrance; it smells delicious, elegant and manly. The sweetness isn’t cloying; sweet almond predominates. It’s not a ‘beast mode’, but the longevity is acceptable: with 5 sprays, it stayed close to the skin until the next day. It doesn’t project much nor leave an overwhelming trail. I would have preferred a bottle with a black rim; it looks nicer, but the liquid is what matters. I recommend it 100%, I have no regrets about the blind buy and I’d love to try the other flankers.

From today it’s one of my favourites and I hope to keep buying editions for my collection. I was surprised by its freshness and how delicious it is. People might call me mad, but at first I detected a certain resemblance to Versace Eros; over time it becomes more elegant, where the tonka bean and almond come to the fore. I’ll keep testing, but truly it’s recommended if you’re looking for something for autumn-winter.

Hello, gentlemen. It’s one of my best perfumes: elegant and sophisticated in all its splendour. It’s versatile and suitable for any occasion. Its projection is moderate, but its great strength is the quality of the notes, which are refined and well-crafted. The almond, tonka bean, rosemary and leather are balanced, creating a harmonious composition. It’s the best option to start with this line; I use it especially for dates. I’ve received compliments from women aged 30 and over (I’m 27). Without a doubt, a blind buy totally recommended. It smells like a freshly baked almond and vanilla dessert, so I suggest using it in the afternoon/evening. On me: longevity 5h, projection 1h, personal bubble 1h, skin sillage 3h, trail 1.5m (1h). Recommended as a signature scent for the office, dates, semi-formal events and meetings with friends/family. Not recommended for clubs, sport or formal events. Recommended age: 30+. 7/10: elegant, sophisticated and versatile.

Blessed be the creator, a divine work of art. This is class, good taste and pure elegance. Soapy, like fine barber soap, sweet without being cloying. The citrus note with the orange blossom and bitter orange with the rosemary give freshness that turns into exquisite creaminess thanks to the almond, tonka bean and that wonderful leather with my beloved vetiver and cedar. Right on the point of olfactory beauty… I’m in love, ashamed, ecstatic; I let myself be won over by this Guerlain jewel, which rarely disappoints with its delicious fragrances. Very much in the style of Dior Homme, too similar to my taste. A true work of art that becomes my cult devotion.

If you want a single fragrance but are tired of the ‘blue’ DNA, this is an excellent option. It starts citrusy and ends more woody and sweet, but always with that almond present. Note that the almond is like a slightly drier, bitter vanilla, very pleasant and zero cloying (though not for the beach). The quality is unreal and the aroma so unique for such a low price; you can get the 150ml bottle for less than $70 if you know where to look. For me it’s a 10/10; I think it would still be worth it even if it cost double.

The most versatile in the line, but it doesn’t stop being elegant; it’s the perfect perfume for the office because it conveys class without overwhelming. Regarding the reformulation, I have the new version; I let it mature for a month and a half and it already has better performance; the liquid changes colour. My advice: use it for a couple of days and store it; you’ll see the results. Unique aroma due to the almond mixed with citrus (it clearly smells like orange to me); as it dries, you feel tonka bean and woods. For me, the leather isn’t perceptible as in later versions. Excellent quality perfume at a good price, as only Guerlain knows how to do. No Arabic can stand up to it: they can last 48 hours and project 200 metres, but class isn’t improvised.

It has become my signature: versatile and unique, I’ve never smelled anything like it. Ideal for temperate climates and even daytime events, though avoid extreme heat; it lasts all day. Works for work, cinema, dates, or casual outings whenever you want to smell great. It’s not the loudest; it’s made to linger, not to draw attention. In Mexico, you can get it at an accessible price, and considering the quality, it’s an excellent purchase.

Delicious and for personal enjoyment. I see it as elegant and versatile, totally distinctive. It smells of almond with something more, a blend that gives you energy. It’s not a beast in terms of projection, but in intimate spaces it’s very noticeable. Given the price and the quality it conveys, it’s 100% recommended.

Sweet and different (hard to find nowadays). Finding a sweet perfume with quality amidst the monotony of mainstream scents is satisfying. L’Homme Ideal EDT opens citrusy and floral with an almond note that stands out at the base. It evolves, sweetening slightly with exquisite tonka and a distinguished almond that adds elegance with a touch of comforting leather. At the end, it’s barely powdery and sweet. Lasts 6-7 hours on skin with just enough projection. Very complimentary regarding its aroma and quality.

It happens to me as with Byzance: from start to finish, I notice a single note of bitter, monotonous, and tenacious almond. I don’t dislike it, but I get bored wearing it and choose it rarely. Try it, live with it, and decide for yourself. My favourite to date remains Heritage…

A great fragrance, slightly sweet, with almond as the protagonist and a present woody base. Ideal for autumn and winter, but can be used in warmer climates. It’s designed as a mature scent, but I believe it’s a great resource for those over 25 and on semi-formal occasions. It has decent longevity, surpassing the current average, with a moderate trail.

Danny, do you mean the 9GO1 batch from 2019? They’re offering me one and I’m about to buy it. Best regards.

  16. Avalon1224

My first Guerlain perfume; I bought it blind and it didn’t disappoint. It’s elegant, sophisticated, and subtle; ideal for smelling good without drawing attention. The almond scent is very perceptible, accompanied by woody notes that make it unusual, warm, and very pleasant. I wish it lasted longer, but it doesn’t matter; one can always apply another layer at four hours, which is how long it lasts for me; I suppose it depends a lot on skin type.

A review to vent (haha). I found my old empty bottle from batch 9G01 and the impregnated aroma is truly delicious, what quality. What a shame they’ve changed the ingredients; the new one doesn’t have anywhere near the same quality. If you overapply, there are strange nuances; at the trail level it doesn’t smell bad, it’s pleasant but lacks the magic of the original formula.

  18. Victortor

Citrus, floral, almond and woody. A brilliantly executed design, one of my favourites in the line (perhaps the best). It opens fresh with a creamy almond note that defines it. As it dries down, it becomes woody with a subtle vanilla touch; not the star, but with a pleasant sweetness. Suitable for any occasion, especially in cold weather, with decent longevity. Given the price, it’s well worth it.

  19. When you’re looking for a unique, well-constructed, high-quality scent, without clones, with versatility, elegance, and sexuality, this is the one. Almost all notes are perceptible, with almond as the protagonist throughout the fragrance’s life. It has moderate performance, but that works in my favour for a date, especially if there’s proximity. A jewel of perfumery at a modest price, your first niche fragrance.

September 2023 batch. I’ve been wearing it after trying Gentleman G-style fragrances. It smells sweet but not cloying. After a couple of weeks, the longevity is laughable: after two hours on skin or clothes, it’s barely noticeable. What a pity because here in Colombia it’s not cheap. My view is that it’s no longer worth spending a penny on these ‘watered-down’ fragrances. Better to stick with Arabesque which give more for less, or try new niche perfumers who offer much better quality at the same price. I’ll keep this for a few months to see if oxidation improves it, but I doubt it will.

I love it; it was my signature. I’m looking for older batches or a replacement because the one I bought in 2024 doesn’t resemble the earlier ones (2015-2021). Longevity has dropped significantly, but I’m still delighted. It’s a scent distinct from the conventional yet easy to enjoy, with a super perceptible almond in the heart that I haven’t found elsewhere. Ideal for the office, especially now that it doesn’t project as much as when first sprayed.

  22. Very good scent with just the right amount of sweetness to avoid being cloying. It resembles the EDP, Parfum and Extrem, but is more subtle, making it the most versatile of all. Except in summer or for the gym, it serves for everything. Longevity is more than acceptable, surpassing seven hours, and it projects well for the first two. Batch from 2024.

To be honest, I bought it blindly based on Mr Félix’s reviews saying one must own a Guerlain. The first spray on my forearm made me fall in love; a unique scent I had never perceived. I’ll start wearing it all week to form a more accurate opinion, but initially, it’s spectacular.

  24. Daniipntr

Tested on dry skin. I’ve already tried the Extreme version and it has won me over. This smells the same but the concentration feels slightly lighter. I’d go straight for the Extreme, which is a gem. That said, the scent is practically identical.

  25. Martínvenezuela

I’ve just bought it and I don’t care if it was reformulated or not; it still projects well and the smell is spectacular. Buy it and you won’t regret it; women love it. I prefer the original to the flanker, but every nose is different.

This EDT arrived by mistake at my parents’ house; there was a box with the EDP and shower gel, and no one knew who it belonged to, so they gifted it to me. I can’t give a very extensive review, but here goes: I’m lucky to have a 2017 batch, the bottle with black edges. It’s elegant yet casual at the same time, very versatile. Suitable for all year round, but more so on cool days. The almond and tonka bean convey warmth, and the leather adds a lot of relaxation. Good longevity on skin and much better on clothes.

L’Homme Idéal is an exceptional fragrance for the modern man seeking something distinctive and sophisticated. The almond note, highlighted in the heart, is notable for its beauty and uniqueness. It’s not just sweet; it has a subtle creaminess that adds richness and depth. It envelops the senses with warmth and comfort, making it memorable and addictive. Combined with tonka bean and woods, it creates a perfect harmony that highlights individuality. This touch of almond distinguishes L’Homme Idéal, adding a gourmet and sophisticated dimension, masculine and elegant. Best wishes from Argentina, Emiliano, always in harmony.

A classy gem, ideal for cold days though it works perfectly in spring. The orange blossom opening is exquisite, and after 15 minutes, you feel the tonka bean and a soft leather. The protagonist is the almond, masculine here, though a woman could wear it too. 100% recommended.
